Here is a sample Battle Report for copy/paste purposes

  3. I had a similar problem with mine.  I chose a specific unit, 325th Glider Infantry. I then decided to pick a specific point in time, Market Garden, and used the predominant color scheme for that time. It's all about Uniform transition times.

The Khaki shirt would be more for Operation Torch up to Normandy.  The green shirt would be more for Normandy up to 1945.  Green Shirt and Green pants would be for about Market Garden to end of war.

For Normandy, a mix of Khaki shirts and Green shirts would look cool.

For Market garden, a few Khaki shirts, mostly Green shirts, and then a few Green shirt & pants.

Mid-war Africa would be almost all Khaki, Italy would be predominately khaki with maybe some green.

    Example:

I have a Fallschirmjager unit. As for their equipment, it pretty universal from EW through LW. As such, I picked the attack on Eben Emaile/Crete (their greatest airborne glory moments) for their paint scheme.

  4. I wouldn't count on the conscript Mortars being able to do much of anything, or any other type of Concript unit attempting bombardment. Artillery, Mortars, and other teams that are trying bombardment (template attacks) depend greatly on their training level to be able to hit the targets under the template once they are ranged in.

    For Example:

I use US units. Veteran 6-gun battery of 105mm arty can hit/destroy just as well as Trained 4-gun battery of the bigger 155mm heavy arty. Sure they don't have the punch power, but they hit more teams under their templates, and the 6-gun battery allows for reroll misses.

If your wanting some of your units to do bombardment, its worth it to pay the points to get them to Trained instead of Conscript.

  5. Having played US armor since Late War began,  I have noticed major playable differences in US Tank company lists from normandy to remagen.

BGG I think is still one of the best for US tank company, but I am more looking at how a Normandy list competes in tournaments vs how Later books perform.  The Normandy lists can compete but not as well as BGG or Remagen.  To me, LW has 3 phases and the lists from the first phase has difficulty going against lists from the 3rd phase.

The first phase being Normandy comp, and Market Garden Comp:

AT for sherman 76 is 12 and german infantry platoons don't have Faust on everything.

The Second phase being BGG, Devils Charge, and Nuts:

AT for sherman 76 is now 13, germans infiantry platoons are nothing but Faust RMG, and crap tons of panthers leaning towards being unreliable (not the stat rule)

The Third phase being Remagen, Desperate measures, Berline, Nacht Jager:

US now have Heavy Tanks and more AT13, germans tanks are getting fewer and more unreliable (not the stat rule), russians are getting fewer but heavier.

To me, it feels like LW should be broken down into at least 2 parts, 1944 LW and 1945 LW.

I know, I know the points are supposed to reflect it, but for US Tanks going up against German Tanks, They can NOT get enough of that higher AT13. Normandy lists allows for up to 9x AT12. Remagen can be up to 15x AT13 or higher.
