  1. So I was waffling with my list just looking for something fun and things that I don't normally bring. So I tried this. I think this falls into the realm of a decent OFCC list. Added the sentry pylon because 3 annihilation barges seemed spammy, even though not overly killy.

  2. Didn't see Riptide in there.

It's all he owns, but even against a knight list, or someone with anti tank? You're right, this list would be opponent specific.

This would also be our top list, not meant to be harsh, but he'd be going against harder lists in matchups. The rest of the team is 2 mediocre lists and a soft list. I played against a 3 knight and 4 knight list last year, this seems like they'd be on par?

  3. Another newer player on my team and he's bringing the Tau he owns. Below is the list and hoping folks can weigh in on the list for OFCC. 2 Stormsurges are because that's what he owns to get to 2k. That said, thoughts? I tried to trim it from the battlescribe list.

  4. One of my teammates is building his list and is still VERY new to the game. However, this is what he owns and wanted to see what people thought of this. The initial part I see is Abbadon, but being he's a newer player and should balance. He's just looking to bring a reasonable OFCC list. Looking for input on the hard areas, or maybe frustrations for matchups. I don't know enough about Chaos to know how decent this list is for OFCC. I took his battlescribe list and tried to trim unneeded pieces, so if I missed something let me know.

Howdy All. I just moved to Portland and am eager to get gaming. This is my first post but it looks like this is the right spot to  get started. I'd love to turn up this week for a game of 40K if anyone's interested.

Welcome! Check out the post I linked below. Provides directions and some background on the club. Currently a 40k league is happening this Tues along with Kill team, and some board games or one off games. Sadly I can't make this Tuesday, but the club members will treat you right and give you the tour 😁.

Quick update here. Due to popular demand, the schedule for this event has been tweaked slightly. The following is the new revised schedule:

    10:40am = Registration opens

    11 – 1:30 Round 1

1:30 – 1:45 = Submit scores, reshuffle cards and prepare tables for next round

    1:45 – 4:15 = Round 2

4:15- 4:30 = Submit scores, reshuffle cards and prepare tables for next round

4:30 – 7pm = Round 3 (players on Table 2 have the option of withdrawing if they wish)

    7:15 = Prize Ceremony

Regarding the comment for Round 3, if you (a player) are placed on Table 2 during Round 3, you have the option of withdrawing from the event, if you wish. This is to accommodate players who are not in the running for any event prizes/trophies and may wish to attend another Friday evening OFCC (like say a Speed Painting or BB event). Be aware, if a player drops from the event in this manner, he or she will not receive a Favorite Opponent to give out and likewise, is not eligible to receive a FO pin during Round 3.

Also, the list of Achievements is complete. The list is divided into 3 groups of 5 achievements apiece (15 total), with Group 1 achievements typically worth 1 extra point, Group 2 worth 2 points, etc. I will be revealing individual achievements on the list in the upcoming weeks.

Consider updating the original post to match the new schedule? And yes, all PAID up for this 😎

Will try to be there around 4:30 for a Kill Team game with you. Work is uncertain, though, so if someone else can be there for sure, pick that 😉

Work is likely going to make me late, about 530pm or later. If you find an opponent go ahead don't wait for me. Sorry.

Yet...   it wins.  And its a simple list to run.  Mephrit Dynasty for the win!!!

I am certain beyond all doubt that there are tougher options.  58 poxwalkers and such.  But I like the toughness of these Necrons.  Its not that easy to handle.  More mobile than it looks also.

I did try using a deceiver to delivery a monolith forward and deliver troops turn 1 too...was kinda fun stealing a relic objective, but wanted my 225pts back, deceiver was 'ok'. Was fun to snipe with the ctan meteor using close model control.

I do run a list like that.  2 Monoliths, 1 Obelisk, Doomsday Ark, 3 Crypteks, 19 immortals, 8 deathmarks, and an Anihilation Barge.

That doesn't seem overpowered or too durable, monoliths just aren't worth the 320 points. People can just ignore them. They're a 12 shot heavy bolter with 6 rocket shot. At Knight level costs they have more power than that. The smart thing is to just ignore the monoliths and finish everything else off.

The problem I ran into last year was I ran 12 wraiths, 6 destroyers, 40 warriors, and 10 immortals. Everything had an invul of 5++ from the cryptek, except the wraiths this have 3++ naturally. Plus reanimating on a 4+ and auto passing all morale (warlord ability). Trying to tone that down this year, however assassins showing up at OFCC have me concerned, they really pop aura dudes like the cryptek way too easily.

My current idea this year is destroyer lord, cryptek, 30 immortals, 7 tomb blades, 6 wraiths, 6 destroyers, monolith, and 2 annihilation barges. Lots of tesla shooting and fast movement, but nothing face melting except destroyers and monolith for anti tank. Play testing wise it's seeming softer.
