Here's a little something for the rumor mill. Total War: Warhammer. It'll be cool... if it's any good.

Ok, I was into Panzer Depot the other day and got the poop on how they game...
It's possible that I could make it to their Saga nights so I was looking at rulebooks and stuff in the limited time I had. Is the main rulebook hardbound or did I really find the right thing that is about the size and thickness of a magazine?
There are two main rulebooks: SAGA, and SAGA: The Cross and the Crescent. The first is staple bound and magazine-like, the second is hardbound.

Show up to Red Castle on Saturday or Guardian Games on Monday night. We're starting the second week of the Journeyman League on Saturday, and there's still time to join.

Nice!
I think I may need to stop in there and check that out:)
Sale's over; it was only until the 31st.

It ended on the 31st.

We'll be doing the January Historical Miniatures Game Day on January 10, 12pm, at Guardian Games. I expect some SAGA, some Bolt Action, and maybe a few rounds of Disposable Heroes or Sails of Glory. (Sorry for the short notice, but that's scheduling for you.)Guardian Games345 SE Taylor StPortland, OR 97214

There will be a Journeyman League in the Portland area for January-February 2015. Details and signups here.

Would anyone be interested in a 28mm tank battle using Disposable Heroes? I have plenty of German & Russian AVs.
I'll give that a shot.

I'm not going to make it in tonight. Feeling under the weather.

Problem is that, as far as I can tell, it has pretty much the same functionality as EasyArmy, but for a lot more money (EasyArmy clocking in at $2 a book, IIRC). Which makes sense, because it's the same program...

So the official Forces of War site is now live. First impressions: not enough lists, and they want $1 per list (with a 25% discount if you buy all the lists from a book). So far, kinda bummed about that.
-
So this is out now. Anybody able to give a hands on impression of it?

What is Cog?
The local Warmachine club, basically. It's where most of the PDX organized play gets, um, organized.

The next PDX Game day is planned for Saturday, December 20, 12pm, at Guardian Games. We'll be playing some SAGA for sure, and possibly some Bolt Action, Lion Rampant, and maybe some Black Powder or Piquet.Guardian Games345 SE Taylor StPortland, OR 97214

I'll be at Guardian tonight, looking for a game with my late war Germans.

Also be careful with your glue options, do some tests, most I have dealt with don't favorably interact with clear plastics and cause clouding.
In my experience - which is limited - this seems to be from the vapor from the glue, or water vapor, getting caught in the glue as it hardens which causes the clouding. If it's water vapor, maybe setting the piece to cure in a very dry environment (e.g., refrigerator) would help. I haven't tried it.

FYI, this was on the new shelf at Guardian on Saturday.

I haven't decided, but I probably won't make it. Have to get some painting done.

That they do.If I get sucked in, it will be for the abyssal dwarfs. Those guys look cool.

Not making it tonight. Between the weather and my daughter's molars coming in, the omens are inauspicious.

This is happening on Saturday at Guardian:
The November PDX games day is scheduled for November 15, at 12pm. We're planning on having some SAGA and some Bolt Action/Disposable Heroes action, and we might just break out some armies for Lions Rampant. If you'd like to run a game, please let me know so I can arrange a table. Hope to see you there!

Bump to remind everyone this is happening on Saturday.
PDX Historical Games Day: February 22 (Sunday), 12pm
in All Other Games
Posted
February's Historical Games Day will be at Guardian Games on Sunday, February 22nd, at 12pm. (Due to events & Valentine's Day, all the Saturdays are full up...)
We'll have some SAGA, as usual and I'll bring Sails of Glory to try out for some good old-fashioned tall ship action. While most of the tables are going to be back in the bar, we'll have one or two available in the general area for under-21s.
