  1. I imagine they hooded him to give more of a Grim Reaper facade to him. Not my favorite of the Primarchs, to be sure, but running him as a Vet Sgt for a termie squad using the other Scythe Weilding Termies would work for me.....

.....assuming I had the money to drop on a squad of scythe wielding Termies and an 80$ sgt....or Champ of chaos.

  2. Hey! That sounds pretty much like our drive to Kentucky. We went to Mena Arkansas, and then through Little Rock, into TN and up into Bowling Green (home of the corvette museum...and sink holes) on our way to Lexington last fall. Sadly, we drove through that terrible flooding in WY and CO. So glad we got through that safely. The rain didn't let up until we were nearly to Kansas City. It started in Utah. Was sad to miss out on so many great camping and hiking spots.

  3. I'll procure a digital copy to review and study. I only played maybe 4 games in 6e. Moving to the Tacoma area, and being so close to the large player base and Fluger's Weekend Massacre, I'm sure the physical book will be purchased in time. I hope by that point They will have the Rules only available, as I don't need to haul around fluff.

  4. Artificers Forge in Excess Fanaticus is the better place for this question. I'm sure a mod will relocate it once the sun comes up in PacNW.

I don't use a spray gun, but if I did, I would not be using GW except when I use doing detail work with a brush, for the very reasons you mention. I'm pretty sure we have a few Ordites who use a gun, though, and I'm sure they'll have a ton of info to offer.

Welcome to the club, by the way. :)

  5. I really enjoyed First Class.  I felt it was an awesome recovery from the atrocity of THEFILMTHATSHANTBENAMED.  I'm really looking forward to Days of Future Past and Apocalypse.  Really hoping they get the Four Horsemen going in the later.  Perhaps Essex will have a cameo in DoFP.  I loved Bacon as Shaw, too.

Amazing Spiderman I felt was kinda meh.  I mean it was better than SM3, I'll give it that, but with everything the studios were doing to Raimi and pushing on him, it's not a surprise it flopped the way it did.

  6. I know MSU worked for BT players in the past, paired up with a Razorback.

Honestly, with 7th Edition rolling out at the end of the month, I'd focus on painting what you have (assuming you have things to paint), and conceptualizing how you see them on the field.  Are you looking to play a Uber-Competitive Templar List?  Or are you wanting to play something that fits your vision of how they are portrayed in Fluff?  Not that these things are mutually exclusive, they just tend to be.  IIRC, Templar are the only Marines that have the ability to Las/Plas (or dual weapon period) with 5man Tactical-type Squads.  ADL give you the awesome benefit of an additional piece of Cover providing terrain to help protect your gun line/advance across the field.  I found in past editions, going 7 Marines/3 Scouts worked better for me than going 5/5.  Has it been working decently for you thus far?

Running Tandem Land Raiders with 5 drop pods gives you a great Hammer and Anvil that forces the other player to really consider target Priority.  It also gives you the flexibility to decide if you need more Marines at the beginning or if your Dreads will better serve what you need.  But that's also the way I tend to play in general.  My Nightlords use Huron to put d3 units in the opponents face while the rest of the face of death comes billowing their way.

So, I guess, how do you see yourself having the most fun with the army?

  7. I'd suggest we have both, but we are talking about GW and we know the type of follow through and design process they go through. I'd rather have simplistic that almost works than complicated that gets RAW vs RAI without FAQs most of the time.

In other news, we're one step closer to making the Legions, now that the FOC is out. Wouldn't surprise me if that's as close as we get with numerous of them.
