A teaser of my art in progress and the flyer for the show!

I know I have not been active on here lately but I have been working my butt off trying to figure out a way to hustle for myself in life rather than grind away at the rat race. The answer to this has taken the form of art and I have been busy making things happen for me there. A major part of this is have a RAW Artists Showcase happening March 4th and 5th at Holocene in Portland! Info and tickets can be had at www.rawartists.org/artbymauz . Tickets are $15 until the end of this week and $20 at the door. I have to sell a total of 20 and have 9 left to make this a reality for me. I am offering up free art goodies to people who purchase tickets through that website. There will be lots of art, fashion, music, and live performance to keep you entertained. I have a dream...of an event that offers daycare for the kiddos...so that all of us parents can have our day of glory...where both patental units win the prize of free time...and every player is just so happy to be there that no one cares about wins or losses...just rolling dice and high fiving each other for pulling off the greatest thing a gamer with a kid could have dared dream.

The crazy thing is that Other Worlds is probably just a few minutes further down the road for me time wise....and yet it still feels so much farther away than where I think this place is at. Heck...I could manage to drive by it every weekday when I pick my daughter up from daycare and not gain any time to my commute. Why can't my kid be old enough to mind her p's and q's on her own yet?

Nothing suspicious about having the 5 copies of the same board game....or wanting to off load 13 NIB Zombies for Zpocalypse....plus at my prices....who can afford to ask why so cheap....I just must be crazy....hence the 5 new copies of the same board game!

I am excited as I realize this is like 5 minutes down the road from where I live....next step is to check them out....see who goes...maybe finagle a game.

I really just feel like sharing what just happened in a place I know my peers will understand. I currently work one block from Guardian Games (in fact you can see my work place from their back windows) and my co-workers know about the hobbies/games I partake in. The usual UPS driver is on vacation and his replacement dropped off 4 decent sized boxes all with markings indicating toys and games inside. One of my co-workers signed for them and called me up to inform me my large order of game stuff came in while I was on break. I was very confused to say the least because I have not ordered anything game related to ship to me in some time but I told her I would be up in a moment to check them out. Sure enough, they were all for Guardian Games and it strikes me then that 345 SE Yamhill and 345 SE Taylor look an awful lot alike. I called over to GG to inform them of the mix up and see if they wanted me to bring them over or if they wanted to come get them. The whole time I just kept thinking it was kind of funny because it really was a lot of coincidences coming together to create this screw up....and it really just boils down to me being a gamer who enjoys telling non-gamers about how I like to play with army men. I also can not stop thinking about what really was in those boxes....because with GG it could be so so many different things.

Seriously....a 'milestone' birthday and this guy is throwing a major tournament all weekend. I, for one, appreciate all you do for the community and wanted to take a moment to say so. Happy Birthday!!!!

My wife is helping me create a handout with pics and army info. I am putting a link to your blog with it along with the info for Aventine's blog, just as an fyi. I also have to say that with 7th edition coming out I am thrilled to have this army!!!

I am taking the Oubastet Dynasty out to play this weekend at the Guardian Cup VII and I finally have a display board. I took a pic last night with my army and figured why not show it off here.

Since I have heard no objections about my annihilation barges looking different I am going with the second list with the swap of dropping Phaeron on my Overlord for Semipiternal Weave on my D-Lord. I am wicked excited for this weekend and appreciate the feedback as I feel slightly more serious with this list as it is not as chancey. Even my wonderful wife is helping out by polishing up and printing my Oubastet Dynasty army handout.

I have been thinking about trying to see if any Guardian players wanted in. I would totally be down for the #2 spot if everyone is kosher with it/I am not stepping on anyone else's toes.

I wish you could join my team as well. I always pictured convincing you and Wilson and either Jonathon or Ziggy simply because it sounded like it would be a blast for all of us....even if it meant lots of prep this is how you play work. If by some miracle you can let me know. So now to find a team and try to be all Captainey like.

The long story short is I really want to go to OFCC this year and I may have understandably lost my spot on Team Diversity due to missing last year. I am putting feelers out to see if anyone is looking for team members or if there are 3 other people looking for a team to be on as playing the role of Captain could be some fun times....or at least it is something I am willing to try and figure I should be able to get some people to vouch for me. I figure this was a good place to start and figure out which route I should go.

Necron Command Barges are still Chariots HUZZAH!!!

It was the FAQ...the codex came out before chariots existed in 40K if memory serves...and once they came out the FAQ added the Chariot.

Jink is now just a 4+ with no bonus for Turbo Boosting as far as I can tell.

I feel that Chariots are not that tough in general...the key is going to be who is in the chariot as I strongly feel that Command Barges are going to be even more the rage. I also feel the biggest change this edition is the clarity or ease of comprehending the rules as a whole. At least I feel less confused after I read something for the first time through so far.

I always do that and try my hardest not to. I would edit the original post but don't want to confuse future visitors. I can't even fault my phone for this dang nab it....but maybe now I won't forget...hahaha

Pg 86-87 Chariots...they make much more sense. Rider and Chariot are one model if one is destroyed both are destroyed...if one comes back both come back. Wicked excited about having that Command Barge for my Necron Overlord meow! I won't spoil all the other fun in those two pages but I like it.

With 15 Warriors in the Night Scythes I feel it allows me to make dumb moves end of game not as costly or help me claim objectives in matches with good anti-air. I do feel this list is more solid and grants more targets for my opponent to shoot at. I will also confess I am not sure how big on the Phaeron upgrade I am but I can see it being useful...especially because I could then give my Destroyer Lord Weave. Any thoughts on which is a better use of that 10-15 points. Open to any other thoughts as well...good, bad, ugly, or boiled water.

I do not want to be at work still with the 40K 7th edition books glaring at me like they are right now....and with it sooooo sloooowww

Here is another thing I figure I can ask the community and get decent feedback. I have my opinions about this but will not share for fear of changing minds. The question is....how would you feel about your opponent playing 2 different looking Annihilation Barges? Included are the pics of both my barges. One typically is run as a Command Barge but I like to explore my options and I have been really on the fence about this topic. And sorry...my internet-fu is weak today and I forgot how to do the Spoiler thing....some days I feel my nerd card should be revoked.

I concluded that last night....if I drop the court I can take the Destroyer Lord instead with Mindshackle Scarabs....I am learning that as silly as Preferred Enemy Everything is to give to my Wraiths...it seems to make a difference along with the Whip Coils. Also kept wanting to ask you as well Aventine....is there any other particular model you think needs to make an appearance for this event?

Let me see what I can type in a short amount of time....and remember everything. I totally agree my Overlord is Overpriced. I am very thankful about the feedback on him as I have no problem dropping both the Phylactry and the Phase Shifter. My original thought was to have a really tough to destroy Warlord to do my best to deny my opponent that point. So far my Overlord has not done much in the way of making all those points worth it. I have been debating about switching some stuff up and throwing him in a Command Barge but I feel I lack a good understanding of how chariots work. I am also seriously debating about dropping the Res Orb as well as I feel it has also been kind of lack luster like for me. My Wraiths have been a big quandary for me as I feel I need them but I invest too much into what I expect out of them. I kept them basic to help keep me from caring (for some reason adding stuff makes me care more about them and it makes no sense but there you have it). If I make the changes to my Overlord this will allow me to give all my Wraiths Whip Coils no problem. I will just have to convince myself they are basic and try to not care too much about them surviving. I will admit I did a much better job recently of not doing my normal just put them on the line and go to town. My game with Capt. A really taught me the value of a little dancing with these guys and I think playing them smart with Whip Coils will make me like them again as I did months ago. GAH...well that is that for now...again I am still digesting and kicking around some of this stuff in my head. Another thing I have been thinking about is nixing the Royal Court but even with it not being a steady trick it is something that has lots of appeal to me. Why can't emotions and logic work hand in hand instead of against each other!
