  1. The Perry models are pretty good scale-wise, the drawback being that they are modeled to a more realistic scale than GWs version of 28mm so the heads, hands, and feet of their models are proportional to the models themselves but look small next to 40k or WH Fantasy models. But that's no reason not to consider them, they're nice models with really good poses and detail. And, it's a big universe after all with millions of inhabited planets so play the models that you like and you can afford. The most important thing is to enjoy the game.
  2. Glad you found that, basically we were just utilizing the Group Activation option and not the former. It is nice to have both options.
  3. You need to buy a grimoire for the Culvert spell.
  4. Treasure hunt! Just like Frostgrave.
  5. Thanks! I'm trying to get everybody ready for the fact that it's going to be cold in the ancient city. Really, really cold. Hey on a side note, what time do we kick things things off on Saturday? I noticed the website for the Warporch 40k event that first round begins at 9, will that be true for the Birthday Bash-Up as well? Makes sense to start early. Also, what would you like us to bring? Will we send out/go out for lunch/dinner, or should we pack a sandwich? Do people bring snacks? Beverages? Going to be fun and thanks in advance for your hospitality, Peter
  6. Here's a few pics of my warband-in-progress (I think click the pictures to get an expanded view -?): my enchanter. . . treasure hunter. . . tracker. . . thief. Still a bunch of painting to finish -! I'm looking forward to the games on Saturday. Peter
  7. Plus it would seem that you like big Spanish reds, another reason that your construct rules.
  8. That is stunningly beautiful, seriously, I love it. Take a bow.
  9. My crew, at the very least, should be able to take a stoned golem. I mean really, how tough can it be? Put out some cheetos and some bean dip, get him to relax a little and start watching youtube, and then BAM! Bone dart and a two-handed sword. Seriously though, I'm really looking forward to it. Are you going to want an extra board (or two, three) of terrain? Let me know, I've been working on some game specific tables and can pack them along if it would be helpful.
  10. You have to run a Sigilist if you want to know how to write.
  11. Okay, I'll wait. But I'm going to be painting little plastic men the whole while.
  12. Hey, I'd love to come down and play in the Frostgrave event if you still have space! I picked up the rules with plans to run the game up here on Orcas this winter with our local club, haven't played it yet but I'm familiar enough with the rules that I'm confident I can jump right in. I'll have a warband painted by the 21st, and can bring a full table of appropriately frozen terrain as well if that helps out. Let me know -! Peter
  13. Either way, I'd make time to come if it's at all possible. Personally, I really like smaller point values when you play three games in a day because the chances of playing the game all the way through are much better, and the game doesn't lose anything at all. 6th edition is really well balanced at 1500 pts..
  14. Had a great time last weekend at this event; organized and low key three games of competitive 40k with nice terrain in a clean and well-lit shop who even stayed open late for us. And beers afterward in the Bham. Thanks VonVilkee, and Dark Tower Games and the other players. I'd do it again for sure.
  15. Congratulations on your daughter! You're a lucky man.
  16. Hey guys, Hoping to make it to the 1850 on April 19th, also to bring another player or maybe two from the San Juans for the day. I'm wondering what you are going to do about the new Guard codex -? Will both codex be playable, just the new, just the old, etc.? Timing on the tourney is cutting it close to release date. Thanks
