Pros and Cons of my available armies
Matt Israel replied to Brother Glacius's topic in Fantasy Battles (9th Age, WFB, etc.)
Since it seems your basically going to have to hammer away at each army. I agree night goblins(and orcs) look really fun to play, if I had some I would have done them. If this helps Orcs and goblin stuff will be out by spring I have heard, along with the Dwarf stuff and both armies Journals. In the end this did not help I am sure. Whatever you do get 1 army up and running that gives you time to work on the army that grabs your heart. I had same issue, I have 2 painted armies ready to go. Nurgle Deamon - painted and ready. I have 2 units I can add to them. Dwarf Slaver - Painted and ready, Hoping its in the dwarf journal for rules. So that's idle. Dwarf - Would require printing and painting. So that's for later. Khrone Deamon - Needs to be put together and painted so also later. Chaos Warrior - Put together and primed, needs paint. Beastman - 50% painted but pretty much ready to go. Tomb Kings- Bought them when GW first released them. Was about 50% done, but I have all the units I need to play. And the fact I never finished them always bothered me. So I cracked them out of storage and started painting them. This will be my army I play the most, I always liked them forever and will cost the least to get going. In the last 2 weeks (through the ice storm) I have 5 finished units- 70 models at 95% finished(basing stuff and touch up's). It was tough for me I really wanted to finish up the Beastmen, But in the end the TK's got me, Beastmen will get love by summer. -
Check pg 131, Accidental contact. I just woke up and my brain is not working yet, maybe the answer is there. I don't see anything where you can accidentally engage a unit in combat like earlier editions. You might just stop 1" from a unit if you movement would put you closer. But this is just my guess.

To print or not to print...
Matt Israel replied to Brother Glacius's topic in Fantasy Battles (9th Age, WFB, etc.)
Back in the day (Zgame era) I would have been GW only. 3d printing and other production model makers do as good or way better then GW. I say screw it print or buy does not matter to me as long as people can play and have fun. -
Dwarfs are kick ass

Highland miniatures on myminifactory are amazing. I have 95% of the stl's, some point after my khorne deamon army I have had forever get painted I'm printing a dwarf army. -
When you guys get your rule books, look up break test pg 154. Then think about how its telling you to work it out, once you think you got your brain around it go to page 349 it explains it again. And the wording is not the same. There are 2 rule sections in this book. First is a quick run though of the rule, the second is more in depth. It is annoying! hahaha Still spears are still giving me migraine. Note: the stuff on 350ish is the reference sheet.

Typo I guess in the post title. 😆

For some reason FAQ got flagged as a swear word? 😆

Why did it think FAQ was a swear word 😆 . That was weird.

So much for playing Vampire Counts
Matt Israel replied to Brother Glacius's topic in Fantasy Battles (9th Age, WFB, etc.)
Regen is like a ward save except against flame attacks. There are spells and some special abilities and by pass regen saves. basically a poor mans ward save. As how magic works you can only dispell if your in range 1 or 2 lvl mages 18" 3 and 4 24". As for skeletons its good to give them light armor and shields, there is not strength mod to armor saves it build into the weapon its really rare to see -3 and uncommon to see -2 and -1 is usually has things like armor bane(1) so you need to get a 6 to get the -1 or -2. Basically the reduced armor save mods and then reduced armor saves of cav, no more 1+ save empire knights. There are 2+ but those are things like Grail knights and Inner Circle Knights. I have not played yet so take everything I say with that in mind. haha -
I would say play what your heart is pulling you toward. Heck VC pdf is out, have a look maybe your not feeling it or you are after looking at the list. I would not put to much in the Legacy army thing unless you play in GW store or events. Next few days should give us a feel what non GW event will allow. As of right now it seems like all is welcome in the events planned next month in Britain. Time will tell.

Orks and gobbos in the Old World
Matt Israel replied to dalmer's topic in Fantasy Battles (9th Age, WFB, etc.)
Core rules and 2 grand army books contain 9 armies are out. The journal books are more about adding special characters and different army units. They do not replace the grand armies books.
