  1. In Hunting Party, how important are the classifieds to determining the outcome of the game? Would I be ok going into the game without say, a Forward Observer?
  2. Ok ok guys, I'll give it another shot!
  3. You did it the smart way. I was almost done before I found the bit, realized what it was supposed to be and glued it on painted. I'm too lazy to fix it at this point.
  4. Got some work done on Kornak and a Zerat FO, and some airbrushing on terrain. Also, [big bad swear word] Kornak's pony tail, that thing falls off every time I pick him up. I think he's going to have to get a haircut.
  5. I'm not even sure where it's going, but we'll find out when we get there.
  6. New post up! http://www.simpleknight.com/impact-craters-and-toxic-sludge/

  8. It's been a while since I updated the blog. Here's what's been going on...I had a great holiday with my family. We went down to my parents house for a week, and got to spend time with them, and my newly engaged sister and her fiance. It was a very special time. I had a really fun new years eve with Aaron, Frazier, Raindog, and Berman. Raindog brought some special beer to share, and we all had pizza, spent more time talking then gaming, and I played tohaa for the first time. Frazier and I watched BladeRunner Director's Cut after everyone left. I'm glad they could come, and I hope to have another gathering sometime soon. I got my ticket for Rose City Raid! I was sad to see that some locals didn't get a ticket, but I'm glad to see that they're willing to help out and still be a part of the event. I am really looking forward to the largest ITS I've been to. Speaking of the Raid, I've had some hard decisions to make. I know what you're thinking, it's 7 months away. Well, there is only so much time in my life to spend on hobby, and it has to be allocated correctly and planned in advance. And my Christmas present from my beautiful, adoring, wonderful wife finally arrived. I now have in my possession 30 pounds of MDF from warsenal and my terrain itch needs scratching. I know I declared 2018 to be the Year of the Morat, but.... I really want to work on my new table! I've decided this time around to document my process, from planning, to execution. I think for ease of sharing, I'll be doing the primary posting on my "website". I hope nobody minds an extra click to see (hopefully) interesting content. Let me know what you like out of an infinity table, and what you want parts of the process you want to see from me. Let me know what your big plans are for the year!
  9. I have extra bits for building mounting if you want them.
  10. I want to see updated shasvastii models. Not because I think they look bad, but because I want everyone else to stop complaining. A surprise, "here's the Sygmaa sectorial!" would be awesome too, but I won't get my hopes up.
  11. I did hardly any research beyond looking at the starter boxes and deciding which one looked cooler. No regrets.
  12. Thanks to Aaron, Frazier, Eric and Berman for a great afternoon of garage gaming!
  13. Happy Holidays from Scared Hitless! No plans on New Years Eve? Away from family and loved ones? Want to show off your new toys from Christmas? Can't make it to Ordo game night? Then come on down to Newberg to play with the Scared Hitless crew in Andy's garage! We will have space for about 4 more players, and want to hang out with YOU! We'll order some pizza, and try and heat the garage with body warmth. This is not a tournament, just a time for some friendly games, responsible day drinking and practice for the January Adversary ITS in Sherwood (https://www.infinitythepdx.com/news/2017/12/2/january-adversary-its) When: Sunday 12/31, Between 12pm and 8pm. Newberg, OR (PM me for details) Who: Andy Caitlin Aaron Frazier And possibly YOU! PS. Bring a coat.
  14. I'm glad you got some food for thought!
  15. I'm with Pete on the Charontid. I hated the previous models, and even though the pose is a bit awkward, I really like the unified theme. Looking forward to picking this one up.
  16. Thanks! I've been using a lot of Secret Weapon acrylics for this project, and really like them. The main stuff: Gray areas: Airbrush base coat 1-1 mix of a black, and SW Old Mud Airbrush at 90 and 45 degrees a 1-2 mix of black and SW Old Mud Work up highlights adding in a bit of SW Weathered Wood Black line with GW Nuln Oil Edge highlight 1-2 mix of Dark wood and Weathered Wood. Straight weathered wood was too much contrast for my style. Gotta keep everything dark and gloomy. Orange (skin and other): Brush SW Orange Rust Wash with GW Agrax Earthshade minimal highlights Weapons: Base coat with SW Tire Black Airbrush at 90 and 45 degrees SW Rubber Airbrush at 90 degrees SW Rubber Highlight Airbrush Vallejo Turquise Black line Edge highlight with Rubber Highlight
  17. Just listened to the recent Remote Presence podcast where they talk about taking 3 tiger soldiers and a cube jager. If you haven't you should give it a listen, and I'd be interested in hearing your own thoughts.
  18. Thought I'd throw out a small update. Amidst the chaos of major life changes, I managed to assemble a E-Drone and a second Oznat (vulcan shotgun). I'll have some time to paint after the holiday, and I've got a bunch of morats lined up ready to go. I've also been working on my lists for the ITS in January. Comments welcome! My Capture and Protect and Acquisition lists will be the same, and a special list for Tic Tac Toe. 19. No worries, those things happen from time to time. minis are meant to be with, not boxed up and put away! no harm no foul! Looking forward to playing again when your game is on!
  20. Our new wargamer Ashton has arrived ahead of schedule! Everyone is happy and healthy.
  21. What a great Saturday! I had a blast at Rampage as always! The food was good, the company was even better. I'm not sure how I even ended with this giant sword, but I'm grateful that I had the opportunity to play this mind-bender of a game, and the opportunity to play with 4 fantastic people. @Twinmasks, hopefully we will continue our friendly feud next month! @Justjokin, it was great to meet you, I hope to see you again very soon. @Jay, a pleasure as always, and your chili was a delight! @Zelaponeepus (I think this is Erik), It was great to play with you again, your army looks amazing! For me, Raindog's Rampage was the perfect bookend to my first year playing Infinity. The 4 games played at last years event were the my first full games of Infinity. I learned a lot then, and I learned a lot this time around too. Let's dig into some thoughts. 1. With the retreat rules not being in effect, there were absolutely no consequences to an overly effective alpha strike. Out of 4 games, I went first 3 times and each time was able to more or less neuter opposing forces with my Fraacta and Makreep, and then complete the objectives at leisure. In ITS games I'll have to be much more careful. 2. Daturazi were amazing as always. Smoke+MSV2 is mean. 3. Cube Jager was very good for me, I really liked having the walk on specialist, although he did kill a civilian, but that more on the civilian than the paramedic. 4. Have I mentioned how much I liked Erik's models, they looked awesome! 5. I took M-Drones to be able to try some stuff that I don't normally use, like sensor. But even when presented with opportunities to use them (I knew something was in hidden deployment), I forgot. Oh well, next time. 6. I got a lot more use out of coordinate orders than I usually do. When playing the unidron link, I tend to save them for reforming the link and rerolling engineering rolls. I was really able to leverage extra movement and suppression fire this time around. 7. Obvious LT Nexus Hacker continues his streak of like 15 games of not getting killed. I'm probably getting overly confident at this point. Finally, I declare 2018 the Year of the Monkey! That's right, I'm shelving Onyx for a bit and will be fielding Morats in the coming year (maybe with a little vanilla CA sprinkled in for good measure, I am digging the new Avatar and the Charontid render looks way better to me than the current one). I'm excited to play a more in your face style of game, with lots of movement and CC. It looks like I'll be able to make the January Adversary ITS. 200 pts, Limited Insertion, with Capture and Protect, Tic-Tac-Toe and Acquisition. This looks like a challenging but fun mix. Thoughts are a list with fast units and AD for C&P, and a more specialist heavy list of for the other two. We'll see in the coming weeks what I come up with.
  22. What a fantastic way to end the year! Thank you to Raindog for hosting what has always been my favorite event. Thank you to 4 fantastic opponents Alex, Justin, Jay and Erik. Thank you Scared Hitless for being the best team anyone could ask for. Looking forward to more fun times next year!
