Are Maelstrom Missions being used? Or are book missions or custom missions being used?

This conversion has so much potential.

On the tournament's website I found a rule in the mission section that states :

"Controlling an objective requires that a scoring unit be within 3" of it, with no enemy units of any kind within 3" of it, as described in the main rule book"

What about units with Objective Secured?

I'm not, but could we simply ship the models? It shouldn't cost more than a few dollars each way.

I have one cannon new on sprue and another cannon assembled and unpainted. I'd trade them both for one drop pod, if you think that's fair? I'm located in Olympia.

I'll dig them out tonight to make sure I have two. I think they are unpainted but assembled. I'd happily take some SM as trade, what do you have laying around?

I think I have 2 Dwarf Cannons from Battle for Skull Pass. I know I don't have the crew. Are those of any interest to you?

How many are you looking for? I have an entire army of Spider Riders (100 Spider Riders, 25 Spiders without riders (used as squigs), and 2 Arachnaroks, plus some other stuff). I would probably want to trade it as a lot, though.

Does this matter when we have an LRC to make sure the lists aren't too crazy? Because I haven't heard too many complaints (yet) about opponents lists. If anything, Maelstrom is getting all the rage fest.

I played against 2 Unbound lists, neither of which caused an unfun game. In both cases it really helped the theme of the army and was the only way the player could play the type of army he wanted. The LRC did a very good job of keeping out the cheese.

fluger: I like the new list, especially the swap from Lascannons to Meltaguns. I learned over the weekend that mobility is key in Maelstrom missions. I would really try to sneak in some anti-air, though. Even a Space Marine Stalker would do wonders for the list.

You and I have drastically different definitions about what "fun" means.  

Yeah, I really don't mind data entry and programming as long as there is good music playing (usually Amon Amarth). That image makes me nauseated, lol.

I would also design a webpage report where you could search your entire collection and specify parameters, but the entire project would take 30-40 hours. Not happening any time soon.

I considered setting up a SQL database to keep track of my Warhammer and MTG inventory, but I was quickly dissuaded when i realized how much data entry that would be. Excel would be a little easier, but that's still a ton of data entry. Would make a fun weekend project, though.

I've found the Manufactorum Genestealer formation to be useful (5x5 Genestealers), but other than that they are a rather lackluster unit.

I live in the Olympia area so we would likely have to ship. Trading is fine with me, if you have any WFB/40K bits or even some MTG cards.

I have 10 or so plastic Cold One Knight riders that are collecting dust in a shoebox. They are assembled but only primed black.

I like Storm Guardians... But only for the special weapons, as the others have mentioned. I normally take 1 unit with Meltas (and my Autarch with Melta/Power Sword) to accompany my 2 squads of Fire Dragons, all in Wave Serpents. This gives me three mounted units with meltas, one of which having ObSec and a little combat ability. The Warlock is generally overpriced for what he does.

I played around with several large units (20) of Storm Guardians on foot, all led by Warlocks with Enhance and an Avatar. Unfortunately Guardians are too expensive for the horde approach to work and too fragile to make it across the table.

Yeah both games have sucked me in. The gameplay is great, the dialogue is hilarious, and the character development is really enjoyable. Both games are highly recommended.

I've also been playing a lot of Space Hulk lately. I got it for $2.50 and have easily put in 10 hours. You'd think I'd be spending this time painting my OFCC army, lol.

I've been having a lot of fun with Borderlands 2. I got it for $10 from Steam. The multiplayer is pretty awesome.

This looks like a lot of fun but I don't want to spare the PAX time to play. Warhammer tournaments happen throughout the year, but PAX happens once a year!

I will definitely stop by and check out the event though.

That conversion is great but he really needs to be looking down the barrel of his pistol, imo.
