If you have space for it, a big dedicated chest freezer is your best bet. Then you can go to a good butcher and just buy a whole sheep, whole goat, whole pig, or half a cow. You’ll have to pay a lot in one lump sum, but it usually works out to  be half (or less) the dollars per pound you’d be paying for individual packages at the supermarket.

A good quality cow will run roughly $1,500.00 for half a cow.  I pick mine up next month.  Cant wait!!!

  4. I'm on the carnivore diet so all i do is bbq the meats; however my seasonings are extremely limited.

I only use charcoal.  Ribeyes get the most grill time.  I'll do carne asada from the meat market in Independence.  The marinade they hook you up with is amazing.

I also like tossing bacon on the grill to put over my roasts.  I'll slow cook the roast in the instapot then toss it on the grill for some smoke flavor and let the bacon fat drip all over it.  I don't add water to the roast and just let the big piece of fat create the juice needed.

The cast iron gets used on the grill a lot.  I'm a huge fan of cast iron cooking.  Al pastor, steaks, etc.  Cast iron cooking is my favorite way of cooking and the smoke flavor from the grill makes it more delicious.

I love cooking and bbqing is the best!

For my birthday my family got me a Traeger.

One of the Caskcade Locals was selling his yearling Pro. We talked June 30, 2020, he purchased it July 01, 2019.

Been having a BLAST grilling and smoking on it!

But HATE the price of meat... I go broke SO fast!

Costco and Cash N Carry are your friends for big cuts.

Find a Hispanic meat market near you.  They have great cuts for the grill.

  6. Alright, time to pick up the brush again.  I had to take a break to deal with house improvements following my surgery recovery.  Improvements are still happening; however, I am able to dedicate a few hours throughout the weeknights to some painting.  I will be updating the list, in the first post, to reflect points updates for 9th edition.  Time to get hobbying again!

The Robits are manageable. They have a good save but they are expensive per model at what 125 for app Phosphur. That is fine to me. Dune Crawler is good but still manageable.

However Marines feel oppressive and many people dont enjoy playing against them. I started a Reddit thread to gauge peoples opinions and the majority of competitive players dont have fun against marines and funnily enough Competitive play is not Grog Beards at work, they are people who play tight games because it is fun. However when the tight game feels like the Battle of Okinawa... we might have issues.

Anything is manageable with the right counter and strategy

My point was that without the -1 to move and shoot dune crawlers are much more mobile now and robots are going to lay down some serious firepower.

Everyone always freaks out about marines, then eldar become the issue, followed by tau, etc.....

    When has this been different?

I mean, I hate playing against harlequins, deathguard, knights, and more than anything gunlines; but I deal with it.

I am looking forward to seeing what random skew lists shoot through the meta. When you can anticipate at 60-75% presence of a single codex (and subsidiaries) you can tailor a list more specifically.

I've heard good things about Tyranids too, but can't speak to myself. Cheap/fast troops and monstrous creatures. Checks out 🤷‍♂️?

Agreed, and defilers are looking like a great "cheap" option for chaos.  With the shorter table, they may see more play.

Something I didn't notice at first: the Onslaught Gatling Cannon is labeled at heavy 8 instead of the current 6.  Typo?

I would take 3 of those in a 2k list.  That's alot of mobile firepower.  14" move with a 24" range gun and no -1 for moving and shooting.

The ATV basically has the same stats as the Attack Bike (W: 8 versus W: 4, but the PL [and presumably the point cost] is also doubled) and no one exactly breaks into a cold sweat when they see an Attack Bike on the table...

The ATV will take resources from your enemy to deal with.  8 wounds is a nice increase and add in how terrain effects the battlefield now.

I foresee the gattling option as the preferred option.
