    Q. Can an Enforcer buy and use weapons from the Trading Post and/or Black Market?

    A. Yes. Enforcers can use the Trading Post just like any other gang.

However, given the more structured nature of the Enforcers upon Necromunda, some Arbitrators may wish to keep a close eye on the activities of Enforcer gangs in relation to their use of non-standard or illegal equipment – after all, too much deviation suggests the gang might be thinking for themselves a bit too much! As such, Arbitrators may wish to create a smaller list of purchasable equipment that Enforcers can purchase from the Trading Post compared to other gangs, to fit the Enforcer narrative more closely.

So the most recent Necromunda FAQ has this little tidbit for Palanite Enforcers. There seems to be a bit of controversy as to exactly what the line "Enforcers can use the Trading Post just like any other gang." actually means... Specifically, regarding whether Enforcers can actually equip the weapons they’re able to purchase from the Trading Post.

Some are arguing that given the specific wording of the answer that “use the Trading Post” will add equipment to a gang’s Stash without reservation. But when equipment is distributed in Step 6D of gang set-up, any new toys in the Stash run up against the Enforcers’ “Palanite/Subjugator Only” weapon requirements. So you can buy a Heavy Bolter, you just can't actually give it to anyone.

The counter-argument focuses on the inclusion of “and use weapons” in the question and the “Yes” that begins the answer, interpreting it to mean Enforcers are no longer bound by the weapon restrictions listed in their profiles and can arm themselves with anything purchased from the Trading Post.

Then there's the last part of the answer, which basically boils down to "Game Masters can tweak these or even break these rules if they want to." but we all knew that already.

  2. The Order/Chaos/Unaligned allegiance mechanic will also have a pretty substantial impact on how two otherwise “same” gangs will play.

Not to mention things like members purchased, skill assignments, equipment used, territories gained and lost, injuries and deaths, et cetera.

Two players can both start a campaign with identical 1,000 Credit Orlock lists and two or three games later both have very different looking gangs.

(To whom my Enforcers will deliver summary executions honest civil service with a vengeance warm smile.)

  4. I find the history of the flag of Hawaii fascinating. I also think the flag is a hideous riot of color, but the history is still an epic, A Game of Thrones style tale of political power plays, international intrigue, royal dynasties, and pineapple.

  6. Of course, Slovenia and Slovakia both only adopted these flags about 25 years ago (give or take). Before that they were both still part of Czechoslovakia and used that flag... Most of the Slavic nations all share the red, white, and blue colors and a similar design lineage. I don't object to so many of the state flags designs being similar just because they are similar, it's that they're similar and visually bland.

The European flags are all much more visually distinctive, even at this small size... I mean, can you tell the difference between Nebraska and New Hampshire?

    Yep. I'm a nerd.

  8. As it happens, I fell down an internet rabbit hole on this subject. Found out that there was a bill introduced in the legislature in 2013 for a new state flag. I greatly prefer this design!

Much more visually distinctive! Currently, twenty-one other states have a flag that consists of “blue field with thing on it,” nineteen of those are “blue field with state seal on it.” Only one state makes yellow a dominate color.

This flag is also recognizable at a distance, no other state uses a bicolor design.

  9. You can start with as few or as many as you want, up to the maximum. I just tend to favor buying Champions during the pregame, since they're the most expensive members of the gang (apart from the Leader) and tend to carry expensive gear (since they've got the stats and skills to use them). It's like Blood Bowl, basic Linemen are cheap and unlimited, the better Blitzers and other positional players cost more... and you've got no way to accurately predict what your future earnings will be.

It's also worth noting that most missions (not all, but most) will have caps on how many gangers you can bring. So if you're willing to let one model represent two (or more) gangers, you can have one miniature do double duty.

Go sign up for Yak Tribe and play around with their Underhive Tools > Create A Gang app. Throw various builds at it and see what looks fun... Even if you haven't read all the rules for Necromunda (and I admit I've done mostly just a skim of them) they're generally similar enough to GW's others games that you should get the gist of it.

  10. The Iron Golems from Warcry are bit more "industrial furnace worker" than "deranged abattoir worker," but they'd still work pretty well as "counts as" Cutters and Butchers, with the more generic Chaos Cultists from Dark Vengeance as Skinners and Initiates.

  11. It's just too small. It takes up slightly less than 1/6 of the field... It looks like a shapeless, yellow lump. Ugh. The whole point of a flag is visual identification at a distance, the shapeless lump doesn't do that. Nor does the overly busy seal and text combo (all rendered mono-chromatically) on the front. Ugh.

Take just the reserve side, make the beaver about half-again larger so it's roughly 1/4 of the field. Done. That'd be a good flag.
