WHEW! The amount of hate GW has from the Necron community right now... WOW

Why? it seems like this makes big blobs tougher than before since you have to score a knockout in one go rather than over the course of the phase.

  2. Playing devils advocate

Encouraging players to bring their own terrain removes pressure from tournament organizers to be able to fully create X numbers of tables by themselves.

Keeping in mind that 9th requires more terrain than 8th this could help tournament from bearing the full cost of the needed ed extra terrain.

Also, by giving rules for placing terrain it puts less pressure on organizers to create fully balanced tables since the players can fill gaps.

I dont personally like collecting or painting terrain, but it's a big part of the hobby. If I spent hours painting a big cool terrain piece I'd like the opportunity to show it off and use it in games, no different than other big set piece units.

  3. I actually really like doctrines. It makes me feel like my force has turned war into a science with certain phases baked in.

You can still do stuff out of phase, the benefit is just 1 ap.  The chapter doctrine bonus might be a bit much, I can never remember it.

  4. Had an interesting game vs the 1000 sons.  The recon mission. I won since all my stuff randomly came in turns 1 and 2 while my opponent was stuck with half his army till turn 3 when the game was in the bag.

I think if we played it again it would j.g ave been more balanced since we both would have made better choices.
