Depends how many blobs of orks you have. Really only need to kill about half of a given squad in order to make them fail a leadership(model count) test. And 6+ armor isn't very good. Not unrealistic to get an ork blob to half strength in a single turn of shooting with just small arms.

Mob rule if there are two big squads together you have to cripple them both... I don't remember a max stat thing any more and they can sub the size of the squad or a nearby squad! Orks have a lot of rules going for them that reduce the need for command points. And the horrible save is part of the reason for the rather uselessness of command rerolls...

That's correct. Keep a couple of big Mobz near each other, and keep Mob Up and Unstoppable Green Tide in mind, and you're going to be taking a lot of those Morale tests on Ld 20+.
