Noland
Do you have any bootleg stats on the expanded Team Yankee world? I picked up some T-80s (6mm) which are very much in the period but not sure how to rate the points. I also have some Heuy gunships and other oddities that I am not interested in waiting on BF to figure out. Thanks in advance.
barca
I don't have an inside source. Ur best bet is to find or start a thread on the BF forum, Team Yankee section. These two threads most closely relate to your questions: Team Yankee > New Countrieshttp://www.flamesofwar.com/Default.aspx?tabid=126&aff=145&aft=573511&afv=topicWest German and Brits are suppose to be out at the end of the yeaConfirmed at Salute that British would be out November/Pre-Christmas.Team Yankee > Some More Soviet TanksFan-made unit cards ("TY Fan Fiction")http://www.flamesofwar.com/Default.aspx?tabid=126&aff=145&aft=571265&afv=topic # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # The rest is hopeful speculation: # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # Team Yankee > Leopard I or II for 1985?http://www.flamesofwar.com/Default.aspx?tabid=126&aff=145&aft=573308&afv=topicTeam Yankee > How About a T-55 Card -- Revisedhttp://www.flamesofwar.com/Default.aspx?tabid=126&aff=145&aft=571021&afv=topicTeam Yankee > Conversion of Arab wars into TY?http://www.flamesofwar.com/Default.aspx?tabid=126&aff=145&aft=573389&afv=topicTeam Yankee > about German, Brits and flashy strike aircrafthttp://www.flamesofwar.com/Default.aspx?tabid=126&aff=145&aft=573302&afv=topicTeam Yankee > Marine Light Armored Vehicle list?http://www.flamesofwar.com/Default.aspx?tabid=126&aff=145&aft=573273&afv=topicTeam Yankee > Communist Chinese?http://www.flamesofwar.com/Default.aspx?tabid=126&aff=145&aft=573095&afv=topicModelling & Painting > Team Yankee Painting Tutorialshttp://www.flamesofwar.com/Default.aspx?tabid=126&aff=9&aft=572567&afv=topicTeam Yankee > The South Atlantichttp://www.flamesofwar.com/Default.aspx?tabid=126&aff=145&aft=568651&afv=topic
Justjokin
Ok, so I picked up this kit(x2). I got busy with the magnets and made at least one model that can serve as a M113, VADS, Mortar Carrier, or ITV. It was an interesting challenge. I set up each of the base chassis(s?) up to be taken this far, but I've so far only built out one that is fully 100% configurable. Now that I know that it can be done, I've been paying a little more attention to the appropriate mix of configurations. I will post pictures of my model/magnet config, but if you have any ideas on how many models really need to be "taken all the way", I'm all ears. It's a fair amount of extra work so my intention is to be efficient AND flexible. So if the most logical mix is to have 4 that can be anything, and then 4 that can be M113's and Mortar carriers, no problem. Or some other odd mix. I have 8 m113 chassis and and can take all 8 to the "100%" status, but that seems like overkill. Your opinion might just save me work that I am otherwise am OK with doing. What do you think? barca
Your opinion might just save me work that I am otherwise am OK with doing. What do you think? Excellent approach. Chkd rulebook. Assuming 1 Combat Team + Division Support, here are the US Army M113 variant numbers (varies by Armored or Mech): VADs= 0, 2 or 4 (Div SPT)(either team) ITV= 0-8, in pairs (0 or 2/Armored, 0-8/Mech) SP Mortars= 0, 3 or 6 (either team)
ZeroMoon17
Personally I made 4x VADS, and 4x M113's/ITV's. This is the lazy man's approach, since the only different between the ITV and the M113 is the turret, so just magnetize your .50 cals and you are good to go.
Bolo
JustJokin, I am also doing the magnet thing. I look forward to your pictures to see how you approached it. I am doing mine to get more flexibility ... though I will have to add a second group to have what will be most flexible. I didn't magnetize the M113's / ITV's turrets ... I just use a wee bit of sticky tack ... does the trick ... makes the pieces interchangeable. Though I did magnetize the gun deck. I would ... in my mind ... do four and then see how that works. You may say ... good, that's all I need or you might want to do more. I will let you know when I get to that point. Right now progress is slow and the M1 Tank's stowage has my attention for the moment.
Justjokin
Zombie post, reply promised long ago... All of the magnets are polarized consistently so it's not complicate which parts go with which models. I'll post the opposite side as well.
