pretre
Okay, so Annihilation is on March 4th. https://annihilation6.splashthat.com/ Link above to the event. Rules change that will affect list building? 1500 points and No Battle Brothers. I'm tempted to go full Sisters pure, just so I get a chance to run the new Celestine. Castellans is probably out, but I'll work some stuff up for that as well.
pretre
Yeah, Castellans without Coteaz is probably inferior for this.
InfestedKerrigan
Why? Doesn't he still add it regardless of AoC or BB?
pretre
Why? Doesn't he still add it regardless of AoC or BB? A couple reasons. 1, he is a higher tax at lower points percentage wise. 2, He has to stand by himself in the corner and try not to die 3, 4 troops are a bigger tax when you have less points. Overall, you get less for what you're bringing.
pretre
Battle Company is tempting, as it is the army I played last and I am still familiar. Barkstar is tempting to troll Bronson. (60 wolves, 5 priests, 3 TWC Characters, 8 Cyberwolves). I really want to try out the new Celestine though. Hmm.

pretre
Oooo. Looks really fun. And a very well designed site, too. The Annihilation events are probably my favorite format that I've been to in a long time and Bronson runs a great event. I highly recommend this.
Guest
I've been advocating events that use allies of convience instead of battle brothers since the start of 6th, but this is the first event I've heard of that does it. A good choice, as it really resolves lots of the more broken list issues if you just can't mix armies into a single squad.
pretre
So Re: Celestine. Run her by herself? Her options for accompaniment are pretty small: BSS Blob, Seraphim, Ecclesiarchy Battle Conclave, Repentia? BSS Blob is probably the best option, unfortunately. pretre
Huh, I just noticed that you can get an Inquisitorial Henchman Warband in your Castellans. This means you get an extra warlord trait and can take a combined henchman unit, plus GK, DK or BSS! Interesting. Edit: NM, it says I and not IA. Dusldorf
Why not Immolators for the Dominions instead of Repressors? The added firepower seems more valuable than the extra front armor, especially if you're expecting to blow your load immediately after scouting/outflanking. Also why the ablative wounds on the Retributors if they're in the Bastion? If you swap for Immolators and drop the ablative wounds that's like 80 spare points.

Repressors for Dominions allow them to shoot from inside their ride and survive to do it again. I'm not a big fan of Immolators just because already fragile units have to jump out to shoot out of them. They'd be good in Castellans for troops, since you're trying to get murdered anyways though. Retributors get ablative wounds to run the two extra heavy bolters in the Bastion. 6 Heavy Bolters (on some targets) with Rending is pretty funny.

pretre
So, also noodling Celestine plus Gladius. Allows you to have an effective Dev Drop (since Celestine can hand out Relentless for one turn).

Myself I would rather have the Immolators, but I realize it's a stylistic choice. I value being able to pop a target w/ an Immolator before its passengers disembark and shoot the inhabitants, for example, or simply having an additional heavy weapon that can fire at a separate target.
