intrizic
some of that seems pretty good at first glance
Guest
from Blood of Kittens So, interesting rules. How does the Conclave rule work when interacting with things that don't wound against toughness? Example, grav weapons. "...must always use the C'tan Shard's Toughness...." AbusePuppy
That part wouldn't have any effect, since weapons like Grav, Sniper, and Poison aren't affected by the target's Toughness in most cases. If you want to get technical about it, you're using the Shard's Tougness value, it just doesn't figure into the to-wound roll in any way. Also the Solar Thermasite is crazy-broken. As if Command Barges weren't tough enough before, not they get to reroll saves and inflict Instant Death on MEQ characters!
Aventine
I have a feeling that will only have short-lasting implications since the new Codex will be out early January and will most likely alter things enough to matter. Guest
Very clever, AP. I have a feeling that will only have short-lasting implications since the new Codex will be out early January and will most likely alter things enough to matter. You say that, but I think the likely outcome is that these will be really broken when the codex comes out in January...
pretre
Yeah, we'll see if CCB even exist after January. :)
WestRider
It'll probably be actually a barge. As in, not self-propelled. You have to tow it behind a Ghost Ark ;)
intrizic
the nerfs are real
winterman
Given that the main rulebook has specific rules for necron chariots I'd be surprised to see the CCB go away completely. Nerfage though is a given. I suspect off the bat that 2+ armor will not be a standard upgrade for overlords (based on many other 6ed and 7ed books), among many other things. AbusePuppy
2+ armor isn't the strong point of the barge, it's the combination of AV13, Jink, and 3++ that lets you just shrug off almost every wound from any gun pointed your way. Guest
Phase Shifter How are you using the phase shifter to grant the 3++ to the vehicle?
CaptainA
How are you using the phase shifter to grant the 3++ to the vehicle? Because the Necron player chooses whom to apply the hits to, either on the barge or the lord. Get shot with bolters, take it on the barge. Get shot with melta, take it on the lord. Aventine
I thought that was only in melee. In melee the attacker chooses where it goes, from shooting the chariot owner chooses.
WestRider
Basically the only thing that can reliably wreck one of those in Shooting is Tyranid Electroshock Grubs, because Templates always hit the Chariot, and ignore Cover. Guest
Even with precision shots. The chariot and rider are one model still. Weird. Thanks for answers to my questions.
AbusePuppy
For what it's worth, I believe that ITC has ruled the opposite- in the case of a Precision Shot (rare as those are), the shooter gets to choose where the wound goes. Straight by the rules, though, that isn't the case.
AbusePuppy
Independent Tournament Circut. Basically, it's what a lot of the big tournaments on both coasts (BAO/LVO, NOVA, Adepticon, etc) are defaulting to on rulings. I don't agree with everything, but it is nice to at least some uniformity.
