sorry for your loss Brother G - that sucks. I lost my sister-in-law and my mom within 2 months of each other last year... it took most of last year to grow past that depression and get on processing these challenges to our life view. Expect a long tough trek to "a normalcy"... we are here for you if you need to talk. I found that my hobby life helped me get through the struggle.
As far as thinning the collection ... I would be hesitant to clear out much when feeling this way. If it can wait a year I would do so. If anything could be trimmed I would start with newer in box items. Things you have not started or built and that isn't so old that it would require a pile of cash to re-collect. I found it was a great time to methodically inventory your collection... evaluating and cataloging your collection is monotonous - but with your brain numb and lacking motivations I found it a good mental space to come to grips with my junk.
Through this process I kinda recentered and evaluated what I wanted from my hobbies - I decided what I found most interesting (which games to collect - what I should stop collecting) - and in the new year I had thought enough about the topic that I had a better idea of my hobby holistically... I feel like I may have matured into my hobby actually.
I would suggest that you try to evaluate or inventory your stuff, find that cause for motivation and clarity without time pressures. This process of iteration and change is something I plan to keep doing every so often without fear. I hope you find some closure and solace Brother G

Looking forward to my first 3D Roleplay Con this Saturday! 🙂

getting excited to run the Inquisitor demo - hope I will be all ready in time lol. Sign-ups for the Saturday demo are full - but I may be looking to run more later Saturday or on Sunday if there is any interest. Although, I am really looking forward to checking out the other fun stuff going on at the Con.
As far as I know - Tickets are available at the door both Saturday and Sunday - and pickup games will be possible for other games.

I have used "abs-like" resins... they seem better - but can still break.
-
I think there will be some Warmaster being played at the 3D Gamer Con in a couple weeks in Portland / Sellwood.
-
cool - I will have to look into it further... currently my son has started trying to get me into Bushido - which he is pretty high on currently. But I will keep Relic Blade in mind as well for another skirmish game.
-thanks!

I have finished prepping a smallish (4x4) table and have 3 groups of minis just about done painted for the Inquisitor demo - I just need to go through a few more test games before the big day! Sign-ups are open!

There is a Game Day happening later this month at Shiv Games down in Salem... Saturday the 27th. I don't do tourneys so I am not sure what else is going on this year. Local Bolt Action outfit is Rosti's Gambit... over at https://www.rostisgambit.com. Ran by the local Warlord Games rep / outrider (not sure what they are called) - but they also have a Discord which is where most of the up to date news is at. They respond fairly quickly on Discord.

someone should start a "group" for this... like (not to make lite of an addiction problem" - but AA or something ... because I am sure there are lots of folks with this... "addiction"... myself included.

The doubles event at the last OFCC was a tournament ... WCP style event. You were right to avoid it if you were looking for the "event" that OFCC has been in the past. I did enjoy the doubles tournament - but it wasn't the good feeling event of the past that I miss and still do. It didn't feel like OFCC... and the 40k tournament wasn't that either sadly. I am looking forward to one day getting back to that team event... when the OFCC is back.

very true about the toxicity of resin... including the fumes. Although you will get some smells from your filament printer as well. There are ways to properly dispose of resin - Exposing it and then tossing the cured resin is safe (supposedly). Also, always handle with gloves or tongs until you've cured it.
Aside - (or back to the OP) filament printers can do pretty fantastic detail when dialed in - I have seen some pretty good prints on a filament printer. But I am not sure about a kickstarter for this kinda thing - there are lots of great options for FDM printers out there - with new and great ones coming everyday... without the false FOMO via a kickstarter campaign from an already existing company with capital.

do you want to get into 3d printing? lol... it is a fairly involved "hobby" lol. I don't know about that kickstarter - but you have to ask yourself what will you be wanting to print if you jump into this hobby? - and will that printer do what you want to print? Are there other printer options already on the market that will do what you are looking to print?
good luck

anything really - but probably initially for 5 parsecs from home or some other solo skirmish. I need to try Inq 28 as well (inquisitor at 28mm). Beyond that - its just kinda cool mini lol.

nice mini... I don't play necromunda... but I have the Delaque box for other games... I will have to get this guy when he comes

nice... I am in

Over the covid time / lockdown... etc. I started collecting and painting Inquisitor (54mm) ... I would like to get a chance to play it someday. I jumped on your discord and stirred up interest. If I can find the time for another project - maybe I could set up something of a demo game.

This sounds fun - what other games could be happening? Is this all that will be played or are you waiting for more sign-ups to fill things out?

I'm pretty sure Geeks and Games in Oregon City has team yankee ... at least the last time I was in there.
I can't remember if Shiv Games in Salem had Team Yankee... but I wouldn't doubt it - they have everything lol.

As it says - I am selling my opened and lightly looked at Legions Imperialis Starter Box. I opened the box - looked through the sprues and rulebook. I then placed it all back into the box. At the cost I paid pre-order for - no mark-up.
Would entertain trades - but not looking to expand my pile of shame too much. Boxed self contained games possibly (GW-space hulk, quest Blackstone fortress, or cursed city?) something else? similar? let me know.

they are really awesome - and the scale is nice. But exactly as your point - I have epic armies needed to be finished already. The game is perfectly fine - with various "living" editions online.
I see that they are trying to keep it a slow grow Neo-epic - with going with HH. But - as things go - it could take years for them to get to where epic already is. IF they don't dump it all a couple years down the road. I think I am better off with the "dead" game lol

I got the main box... thumbed through the book and looked at the minis - after watching a few vids it seems to be a well done game. BUT - I also watched 3-4 epic armageddon YouTube battle reports and just love that game as well - then after looking through my collection of 4-5 epic armies... the rules are online (net epic) and all the armies are accounted for... this new box doesn't bring anything different to the table besides the scale differences.
I think I will just sell my box as it is still new and in the box - rulebook and all un-F'd with.

those would be great for epic 40k work squiggoths ... or something.

it is just a Heresy game tho. Not an epic replacement. I am picking it up out of curiosity mostly - I will plan on printing any needed models other than what I get in the core box. But without xenos factions - it will only be a sideshow for me.
