Geeks N Games in Oregon City has a pretty extensive selection of paints - both GW and a couple other brands. Guardian Games in Portland used to have a pretty large selection as well last time I was in there.

the new nids look pretty nice. But I will be rolling into OFCC with whatever I have already painted (eldar and/or harlequins)

I drank the kool-aid ... I have my OFCC 40k doubles ticket. I will also be patiently waiting for the free rules and cards 🙂

After re-reading the google doc for this event - I am still not seeing a definitive 40k edition to be used? If this is to be the last 9th edition event - or will it be one of the first 10th if GW decides to release it in the weeks or month before OFCC.
Will doubles event be in whatever the current release is - or will it be firmly set as a 9th ed event?

Bryan, I am not sure this was addressed elsewhere, will this event be sticking with the current edition of 40k? or will it be the new edition if GW releases it before OFCC date?
My dog in this fight - I have the current rulebook - and did play some of this edition a year or so ago. I do not plan on learning a new edition or purchasing a new ruleset from GW in the future. Also, I want to participate in another OFCC - and I do have 40k stuff 🙂 - just looking for a reason to play 40k again at OFCC.

I guess it could be unofficially teams of 2 (two person teams)...

I will have to go back and look at where I got all of those files - most were on Cults and Thingieverse if I would have to guess. I will see if I can track down the files and get you the exact names.

hmmm the current Epic rules play just fine... even if it is out of print lol.
And with 3d printing - you can have just about any army you can think of - easy.

I'm contemplating dropping off a large heavy box at goodwill - get the write off and be rid of them. Although the wallpaper and decoupage sounds great as well.

Awesome- thanks- I’ll check out these “free” rules from GW lol.
really- it seems like a joke to think GW is doing something free.
really - thanks - I’ll check it out

OK - I have played 40k through a few decades - I have tried kill team many years ago - but not really played enough to "get an understanding" -
What as of today (3/27/23) would I need right now to play (rules wise)? I had picked up the box a year years (editions ago) with some mechanicus guys in it. And I have plenty of 40k figures to choose from. I am assuming GW has changed the rules more than a couple times in the last few years (at least since I picked up that initial box). I like the idea of a skirmish game I can use my old stuff with - or to collect a small grip of new figures. Which book do I need to get to get started playing?

cool - I don't see anything I will be playing in - but I will be planning to show up to check things out regardless.

hmmm what about a specialist type event.. "Show & Tell" / " demo / play" type thing. I can easily bring several armies for epic / bfg. Warbands or something for other games as well. Smallish - easy to show and demo pre-built lists for several games. I have not played warmaster - but I could learn - and I could build/print an army for it possibly by august. If I could get cheat sheets for a game - and a premade force - and then somehow get a game in under 2 hours lol.
just ideas currently - but I think I can plan on bringing a small setup (2 or more smallish forces, lists, cheat sheets, table and terrain) for demo (epic & BFG)... would that be something of interest?

I am wondering about the interest in the possibility of having a one day/night event of some undetermined GW Specialist Game (not Bloodbowl or Necromunda assuming they are already an official thing for OFCC) at the 2023 OFCC. Either something "official" or something in an open gaming slot Friday or Saturday?
Like say Epic, BFG, ...or Inquisitor? (Of course Inquisitor would require a bit more planning being an RPG style game).
-thoughts?

I have mentioned it to Rosti's Gambit ... (Charles) - and he was mulling it over - After LVO - he's been in contact with Warlord and some others about them wanting him to represent Warlord and Bolt Action at several other western events (Salt Lake and LVO next year...some others). Anyhow, I think he is trying to figure out a potential schedule. I will mention it to him again about OFCC (which initially he was pretty interested in).

OK - funeral stuff is over... and we had a busy week moving my stepson hand the grandkids - I think this weekend will be the last of the overly busy time. What are the possible plans for the next BFG session? 23rd or 30th?
