  1. The next summer engagement game day is on the books for June 18th.  Same location in Aurora with room for up to 16 players.  If you are interested in attending, please let them know by registering for the event, send me a PM, or email them at crostocil@rostisgambit.com.  They will get your name on the list for updates.
    Basic setup as before:
    - 1000 point armies
    - 2.5 hr. games
    - Scenarios from the Rule Book
In addition to 6 tables, we will also have two campaign tables in place for those wanting to play the Pegasus Bridge or Stalingrad scenarios.  Rosti’s Gambit will also have a Warlord kiosk up onsite.

  2. after digging through my collected epic forces last night... I started working out points using E:A lists. I saw that the "Toss Yer Cabers" (BC Canada org)was using 3000pts for their tourney but was wondering what others were thinking is a typical battle size. I think I had initially thought about building 5k forces just to have room to mix and match for games. But now I am wondering what I should really plan on having vs the typical game size so I can offload some of my collection. My thinking is that I could help others build forces so the local area would have more viable opportunities for opponents lol.

-Using 3k as a possible match size - I am thinking 5k-6k in my army collection is probably enough stuff collecting dust.

    - Another thought is that there are plenty of STL files out there for 3d printed armies - especially if I find that I want to fill army gaps in the future.

  3. DAMN - went down a rabbit hole pulling out my Epic stuff - I painted a full Steel Legion last year or was it 2 years ago?  Anyhow, now this thread has spurred me into getting another one of my factions painted - probably try to bang out the Space Marines first - then either nids or Eldar.

I would really like to get involved in re-kindling an Epic Armageddon scene locally.

  4. I think https://www.net-armageddon.org is probably the most current "living rulebook" based on the last edition (4th) of Epic Armageddon. Although some folks like the early editions with cards and the little chips ... and I think they refer to the Net Epic GOLD edition I think.

Anyhow, I would love to see the game picked up again locally - its been awhile but I have several armies and terrain ready to go lol

Maugan Ra looks amazing! Ironically looks more like a Death Jester on roids. LOL

I have to imagine @Torg is foaming at the mouth for the new Corsair model(s) & Kill Team coming out.

Was in the hobby shop today ... saw the new Eldar -... I admit I picked up a box and gandered at Maugan Ra... but quickly put it back when I saw the 45$ price tag for one normal sized figure. I have no thirst for the new Eldar ... and I have not played 40k in over 8-9 months... I don't see myself getting back to it any time in the coming years.

I played in a local Bolt Action game day last weekend - I have not had so much joy for this hobby - and a gaming day event (3 games) in a long... LONG time. Balanced rules... concise rulebooks - and reasonably priced minis & armies.

  6. I am not sure where in Portland is playing Bolt Action - but I know Rosti is playing pretty much every week at his place (or so that is what I hear). I have not yet gotten around to being able to play weekly (I have to many things on my todo list at home). But I wouldn't rule out figuring something out in another month or so. I am not sure if any local shops host Bolt Action... maybe someone else will know more on that.

I have a fully painted USMC force (1300+ pts) and a island assault table just completed for the above event. I am shortly going to start on an Afrika Korp army (1000 pts) ... using the starter box and maybe 3d printing some horse levy lol.  My goal is to have at least 2 forces playable at home for Bolt Action.

It is too bad you missed the game day - it was lots of fun - it was technically my first 3 games of Bolt Action. I am pretty impressed how well the game is designed and felt balanced. All my opponents were friendly and helpful as well. I am still learning the game, their seem to be lots of nuances to making things work in your army - preplanning and tactical stuff - which will come along as I learn and play more.

  7. I am selling my older Resin 3D Printer - Anycubic Photon S - in working order with extras (Bottle of Resin, Extra FEP sheets).  Upgraded plate leveling system - with original parts as well.

I am local to the Portland, Oregon Metro - outer south area. I can demo the printer at my location prior to purchase. (set up - basic operation, cleaning, curing ... etc.).

    100$ obo -

If you are interested in attending please let me know by a PM here or email me at Crostocil@rostisgambit.com and I’ll get your name on the list for updates.

    Basic setup as before:

If you have any questions - I would refer you to the facebook group for the email above. I can also relay questions if needed. I have not played Bolt Action yet ... but am planning on having my USMC ready to go for this.
