  1. I have found the Wraithknight to be ineffective in most games. It's base point cost being what it is, with two guns that are great, but I haven't found anyone who has feared the guy. I've lost him in almost every battle, and that's with him hanging out in cover or something. I think he's lived in two games, and he's not a very big factor in those games. He draws fire, that's his best attribute. He's been absolutely destroyed be a swarm of Deamonettes, killed by a Trygon, and Land Raiders. His T8 means that his armor is often a joke, because whatever is going to hit him is going to ignore the armor. He's difficult to get good enough cover at times, so he's having to be screened. His two guns are amazing, but for 240 pts, there are a lot of times he just cannot kill enough to warrant his cost. If he's not shooting vehicles, or big bad monstrous creatures, he's not paying for himself. He's virtually worthless against horde armies, unless you buy the really expensive, let's make him 300 points variety, in which case I could have two wave serpents which deal much more damage. Is he nifty? Yeah, he looks awesome. I bought one day one. However, I find myself not taking him in most battles at this point. If it's under 2500 points I don't even bother. There are much better ways to spend your points.
  2. Don't know about expansions, but the game is fun. Be sure to run through their test scenarios in the book. They're easy, fast and you'll learn the basics of play in just a few short games.
  3. Not to mention, New Line Cinema would have to approve a change of The Hobbit/LotR going over to the Forgeworld banner, and more than likely it's not the case. It's a flagship line. I had a GW store manager tell me it would be relegated to a specialist game if it didn't hit a certain percentage of their sales. And when it didn't hit that, it didn't get moved over.
  4. I played a Wraith list, it was 1500 pts. I think that it needed some tweaks, but here it was: Spirit Seer Wraith Blades (axes/shields)(5) Wave Serpent with Twin Linked Scatter Lasers, Shuriken Cannon, Holo Field Wraith Guard (5) Wave Serpent with Twin Linked Scatter Lasers, Shuriken Cannon, Holo Field Wraith Guard (5) Wave Serpent with Twin Linked Scatter Lasers, Shuriken Cannon, Holo Field Wraithlord: Sword, Missile Launcher, Starcannon Wraithlord Brightlance, Starcannon Crimson Hunter Upgraded to Exarch I believe it comes out to 1500 clean. If it were 2k, I'd add probably another Squad of Wraith Blades or Guard, another spirit seer, and then who knows. Another flyer instead of those? Not sure. Wraith Knight is still a joke...
  5. All that complaining. People still buying the game. GW doesn't need to fix anything, because people are still buying.
  6. Forge World is one of two flavors of W's. "Whatever" or "Wtf?"
  7. I believe the 5th Ed one you had 3 different powers that you could cast one of which per turn. I don't have my book handy though.
  8. (Been waiting for new Dwarfs for some time, after all)
  9. I'm pretty sure making the Anvil a bound spell will nerf it won't it? I haven't played Fantasy in a looooooong time, but most bound spells require you to be able to cast other spells to make sure they're not easily negated, don't they?
  10. I believe in the whole Superman vs. The Hulk in the Marvel vs. DC comics a few years back Superman just threw him in a black hole. Problem solved.
  11. Well, I haven't done it since they updated them for sixth. They were ultra-dumb in fifth.
  12. I don't believe I'm hearing this right, but Deamon Princes are awful. They're horribly overpriced with wings, and they're easy to take down with massed bolter fire. Did you even watch what happened to your teammate in the last game?
  13. Wait, you mean they seem to be pushing you towards big critters like back when the originally came out? Sign me up. Even go back to the cooler models.
  14. I like sixth edition a lot. Is it perfect? No. However, it's pretty awesome. I find that outside of the Demon's codex, the big problem codexes I have any issue are holdovers from fifth.
  15. Did anyone notice he has the lurk problem? If I gather this right, he has to roll each turn he's not in synapse? I realize it's a 10 LD, but still... going to bite someone at the wrong time.
  16. I stopped reading White Dwarf forever ago. Hell, even when I got it for free I didn't read it that much. I feel it's pretty much just a big advertisement, which it should be. However, it's not like you get tons of in-depth strategy articles, and while the pretty pictures of minis and what not are nice, I hardly feel a need to buy them. White Dwarf is the thing that sells the least of all GW sales, although I really liked their subscription tokens thing. That was awesome.
  17. I picked up the bundle on the Steam sale before Christmas. Entirely worth it. ENTIRELY.
  18. X2 was awful. Your skills were based on the clothes/outfit you wore? Yikes. Way to not get the male population involved.
  19. I loved the original (stateside) FF. I loved the two for the SNES as well. I really enjoyed VII, and after that, the only one that was close was 9. I spent a lot of time on X playing side games and preferred that more than their linear stuff.
