All caught up on Sherlock. Fantastic series. 8 or 9 easily.

So I'm looking for a new Warriors of Chaos army book (hardback), or (and very unlikely) a new dwarf book. Have tons of GW and non-GW gaming stuff to trade.

If there was any chance at all that I would play epic again, I would want this lot. Even without that chance I'm still tempted. :) I hate this sickness.

Gah! okay, so playing quite a bit, and jesus christ...tie's suck. I mean suck so much you wonder if anyone is going to play them. I've gotten quite a few unlocks and boosted all of the gear substantially. Seems like every freaking missile in the game finds this thing, and its energy depletes like nobody's business. I had to basically play wack-a-mole with it in reverse...ducking in and out of the wreckage to get off some shots...of course with only two rockets...that doesn't last long. It is so tough to be a tie pilot. However, every once in a while, when it seemed like the entire enemy team wasn't focused on killing me....I did get in some decent kills, and even topped the board a few times...but I chalk that up to mostly luck and just learning how to avoid getting caught in the open.

We played in the same match for a bit, I even shot at you and launched a missile your way. :) I had to go to the hanger to buy my Y-wing after that match. It is now level 10 with lots of upgrades. Now I just gotta try to upgrade the parts on it.

I may have beta codes to give out too. Played it some tonight...think I saw Burk on there as Burkdawg. Finally figured out how to buy ships and upgrade them. Love the Y-wing until someone pays attention to me. Then its like shooting a fish in a barrel. This last build is much better.

The irondrakes are an excellent unit. Very tough, very lethal, you just can't ignore them. Stick in a runesmith to give them MR. Their low BS though will prevent them from doing too much, but the potential is there.

I'm stuck spending at least for the book and the bomber. Some of the new plastics look okay, but not so much better it will make me ditch my current models. Shame that it isn't sounding great. No save better than 3+? No monstrous unit? No centerpiece model?

Is this laziness on GW's part? Is it reaction to the poor sales of previous releases? Is the new gyrobomber the "big" kit?

Seems like GW is toning down the releases. Shame the dwarfs got hosed (not really hosed, just not what they deserved). 3+ infantry is just not good enough. No stompers is not good enough.

Contact Mantic Games and ask about their Loka minis. They have an earth knight that looks like a centigor. Perhaps you could buy just those from them.

Warlord is currently not on my list of "companies I am happy with". And the Italian ruleset isn't even part of it. I have an outstanding issue with Warlord on an order I made a few months ago which is still not resolved. Not happy at all.

Plus I haven't made any progress on my stuff since the league. Once the company is back in my good graces, I'll be more inclined to play their game :) Cuz I'm petty like that

I actually like the bomber model. I think the gyro does look a bit fat. But I have plenty of old school gyros...so that isn't a worry for me. The runes sound intriguing to me. Stacking bonuses? Nice "out of the box" thinking for the army. Now if we could just get the book to see what else is in store. I'm hoping there is something else new other than the bomber. I will be very disappointed otherwise. The dwarfs have been a bit stale for quite some time. Just gotta resist shiny model syndrome.

So far I am liking most of the models. I just can't afford to replace the ones I have with new ones. It will be nice to see the whole range. Don't know why GW is dragging this stuff out.

And do you want to sell it as a whole lot? or break it up by armies?

Mantic has a line of chaos dwarf models that don't break the bank. So check them out if you really want magic dwarfs. A whole lot cheaper than forgeworld and the same scale, if not the same quality.

You've picked two armies that are really on different sides of the spectrum in terms of magic. If you are serious about the dwarfs, I would wait until after the new book is released. No sense getting into an army that is about to change.

The VC can be high magic, but due to the explosive nature of magic, and the fact that your army starts to crumble when the general dies...you really have to be careful with how you handle the magic phase. I've lost plenty of games because my general miscast and killed himself. So for you, that means multiple casters. I suppose you could go with expensive troops, and terrorgheists (they are sort of like arty).

Another army to look at could be the Tomb Kings. Very cool theme, undead, rely on magic too, and have some very expensive units. And they have real ranged artillery. But they are not a top tier army in terms of strength.

Don't do chaos. Sure, they are a good army no doubt. But they are kind of the OP beatstick. They are just very effective right out of the box. And therefore, quite common to see.

If you are stuck on the dwarfs or VC..I'd go VC. Lots of flavor there, lots of different builds to try. And most of the kits are still holding the old prices. Plus you should be able to find people selling armies easily. Dwarf players are a strange lot that hold on them regardless of how good they are in the current edition. :)

Well played GW. By moving the rangers to Rare, they justify pricing the box set at $5 a model, if not $6. Had they stayed core only, they would have had a lower price.

Absolute shame that they will be $50 for a box of 10 if not higher. They are very nice looking models. The funny thing is, I really don't like the way the basic warriors look. Very uninspired. These new models are fantastic. I just wish they were affordable.

I just stick my photos in my google+ account. Very easy to link from there. Plus they automatically get uploaded from my phone..so super easy. :)

I think I have that old rock basing material. You can always swing by and take a look. I do like the new basing though. Also, I have the green ink from GW if you need that.
