My problem with 40K is that what is good is too good, and what is bad is too bad. There are clearly the "best" and the "worst" stuff to take in every codex. There is no room for diversity (competitive environment). How do people define a good codex? If there are multiple "best" builds.
Unless you are playing with a garage group, there is no more narrative in the armies. "Well X can kill 5 MEQs a round, so I'll take as much X as I can fit." Repeat ad nauseam. People don't build armies, they build spreadsheets. Where is the fun in that?
There are too many players out there that want to play that way. They want to build the best spreadsheet they can and match it up against other spreadsheets. Army builders aren't going to find fun games against those types of lists.
So how do you fix it? Do you try to fix the army books so that the units aren't very diverse? or do you try to fix the mindset of the player to build an army instead of a spreadsheet?

What is this Survey thing you keep mentioning?

That actually looks just like my collection of orcs. Good luck. I'd try popping them off as units. More hassle, but you'll get more.

And now I painted something! :)
Granted, its not great. I'm testing out a color scheme for my eldar. The ink I used was quite old (like 20+ years old), so I think my next test model will use something a bit more current.

Yay! I love my fexes. But I hated that they had to be copies to be grouped. I'm definitely going to try a ton of big bug ground pounders with lots of little guys around.

so do carnies need to be the same like last codex? or can they be different from each other?
-
So is there any reason to get any of the new models?

Maybe nids will do better by not allowing optional rules. That way you have no allies for armies or other crazy big stuff that is difficult for them to handle.
-
Do you need actual bret models? or will any of the proper base size do? I have lots at my house (just not brets), just swing on by.

I'll take a look to see what I got. I'm sure I have some old battle stealers lying around.

I'm interested in the dire avengers if anyone is willing to part those out before or after.

So I started typing in the following at the google home page:
80's TV show
at which point google gave me 5ish choices to choose from. Now I was trying to find an old TV show about a family that was transported to another world through a pyramid.
Well one of the choices was 80's TV show pyramid...sure enough, gave me exactly what I was looking for. One of the other choices was 80's TV show alternate reality.
That is creepy. Google knew I was looking for the pyramid show.

Looking list was updated. :)

I have 10 I think..assembled, and two were converted into a command group (std, musc). Got any eldar stuff?

Would like to get a new fire prism and some new swooping hawks. Maybe another wave serpent or falcon. Also, would be interested in the new fighter they have and dire avengers.
Have an extra wraithlord for trade or tons of other stuff (marines, orks, nids, wfb armies, spartan games stuff, epic 40K, etc)

Send a PM to Gordianus. He just got the FS v2 book and I'm sure he is just dying to buy a fleet. Of course he is Portland/Vancouver located. Not sure how that helps you.
Tyranids are here!

I guess I'm lucky that the stuff I like basically got cheaper or better. Of course my nids got wiped off the board every time, so really no where to go but up I suppose. :)
