  1. Thx wise tiger. I may take you up on that sometime, but for now I have cut out what I need to play this week. Below is the progress picture for the new green and white paint job, and please take note that this is before the wash. I know it looks horrible before the wash :-)
  2. Getting started on my infinity tokens... Finally :-) no my opponents might actually have some kind of clue as to the fact that I'm not cheating :-)
  3. awesome. Here is an iconic building shape that may be fun to make.
  4. Thx Rudra. For this first attempt I incorporated the hidden ground lighting, the glowing smoke stack (not well seen in picture) and the red control panel next to the door (I plan to add a small housing for detail). Since it is your terrain, I am more than willing to make changes of style or materials as you see fit. I hope to get this building up and fully operational by next sunday so I can bring it to WOW. Maybe we can do a building swap, so I can start working on a new one... I have a bunch more little ideas I want to try out. We will see what we like best. Seth
  5. my concern as well.. i havn't yet run out to buy some foam core... so we will see. Thankfully Rudra is doing a stuco layer over all the building surfaces. I'm hoping this will give it some toughness. I'm thinking of this first trial as just finding out what process I need to fix. So next time, I may very well be building with plascard and other more rugged materials.
  6. thx Peanut :) So, this terrain project is retrofitting one of Rudra's buildings. It has been a fun challenge and I hope to continue to find success so I can do more. The pictures above include a 6 led ground effects retro-fit (the sixth one is inside the smoke stack :). I was glad to see that this proved my concept of circuit design, and that the LED's put out enough light to be interesting even in well lit rooms. The pictures seen above show the circuit running off of a 4xAAA DC power supply. However, the next stage (and challenge) will be to add to this circuit the needed components to handle a solar panel power supply. The problem with the solar panes is two fold. 1) The DC voltage output is variable (unlike the stable battery pack) and therefore plays havoc with determining proper resistance due to V=IR (ohms law). -I know you are finding this riveting to read :)-. 2) the number of solar panels needed to generate enough voltage to overcome the v-drop of the LED's is significant enough that I have to find a way to creatively model it. I can just slap a 2"x2" mini panel on and expect to get 5-8 volts in most lighting conditions. These hurdles are really part of why I'm enjoying this project. I have enjoyed brushing up on my circuitry know how, and wracking my brain for solutions. Let me just say what everyone is thinking... It is so fun to play a game where terrain matters and is fun to have in abundance (instead of a hassle). anyway... back to designing a voltage regulation circuit with boost inductance... Seth
  7. Rudra: got some pics up showing the progress of the LED retro-fit.
  8. I think I am going to switch to a green and white color scheme. Same layout as the models I have painted so far, just green instead of blue. I like the blue and white, but it feels too Pan-O. So I'm hoping the green and white will feel more yu-jing.
  9. I will have to skip this week guys. See you next week.
  10. do we know how ad:combat jump and infiltrate will apply to this weeks deployment rules? Thanks.
  11. those front arc stickers are awesome
  12. oh, I would be so jealous. an S7 with super jump... I can just see him on top of a 3 story building raining down death :)
  13. Kind of you guys to mention me :) My game against brad was pretty pitiful :) so there really was no where to go but up. Pete deserves a big applause as he was such a good sport even when dice roles weren't going his way.
  14. your method for doing the tokens is awesome, best i have seen yet. I would like to do the same, but I thought I would ask.. any chance you could let some of us club-mates borrow the circle punch? I bet eric would be glad to lock it up at wow for you for safe keeping till you pick it up. Thanks, Seth
  15. forgive me nate, but am i missing a rule about the AI beacons? It seems like they wouldn't be much help in a different combat group? Order Pool example A player has an Army List with 12 Regular troopers divided in two Combat Groups of 8 and 4 troopers respectively. She has two Order Pools, one with 8 Regular Orders and a second one with 4 Regular Orders. She could use her 8 Regular Orders in the first Order Pool to activate the 8 troopers in that Combat Group once. She could also give all those Orders to a single trooper, activating it 8 times. Alternatively, she could give 4 Orders to one trooper, 3 to another and 1 to a third trooper. She can assign those 8 Orders in any combination within the first Combat Group, and do the same with the 4 Regular Orders available for the second Combat Group. What she cannot do is use orders from the first Combat Group to activate troopers in the second Combat Group, or vice versa.
  16. What I'm "seeking" rudra, with my paint job is productivity :-) -lol- Here is the 170 pts team I plan on using on this Sunday. I'm quite pleased with my painting progress :-) it's nice to only have 10 to 12 models to paint instead of the hundred fifty I used to have to to get a warhammer list together :-)
  17. Thanks Scipiano :) As usual, if the paint theme implies a depth of intention... well I guess i got lucky then :) The reality of my thought process was probably more like... "sure, lets slap some more brown tone right there.." :)
  18. Really wonderful work. You have put my yu jing to shame :) I look forward to seeing your models on the table!
  19. I will be able to make it this Sunday :) Looking forward to 170 pts of yu jing fun :)
  20. yeah, the monks have been my favorite unit so far because they are just so unpredictable :) As far as bases go... I havn't decided. I do like the city scape type basing, but figure i will address that later. For now i am trying to get the models painted and putting a LOF arc on the base rim.
  21. And a monk. I decided to make the armor white since these models have skin tone heads.
  22. Ok, this model is close to done, without basing. I like the blue/grey color scheme pretty well. And I have chosen white as my pop of color. The technique is basic but effective. I should be able tho make good progress.
