  1. With all the talk about hobby costs and the state of the economy I'm interested in bringing some casual back into the mix. To this end I'd like to run a 1000 pt league on Tuesdays. I'd like to get in more games to get comfortable with the rules before OFCC. Just reply to the thread if you want in. Just report the game in the thread, who played with winner. I'll keep track wioth a simple win/loss record and I'll give away a trophy at the end of the league. No Lords of War please. I'll post a mission a week. Starts next Tuesday and runs till the end of August. Who's in?
  2. Thanks. I'll have to pass on this, I've just got too much on my plate, but it's a smokin deal. I'd post the pics here in the thread, I'm sure you'd get a bite.
  3. Still only armor 11 though...but cheap. At least you can load them up with scorchas. 3 scorchas and a Deffrolla with Nobs inside are going to cause some damage.
  4. Pics? Painted? I may be interested...
  5. In order to raise cash to make more molds I'm offering up 2 of these: $35 each if you're local to Vancouver/PDX and can meet me, otherwise Shipping's $8
  6. Enjoy your nerdlings today.
  7. I find that the meta is a terrible stick to measure your enjoyment by. Books are easily shared. Models are easily traded. More than ever we can take advantage of being a community that can help each other enjoy our time together. Need a rules set? Codex ? Try asking.
  8. I find myself with the evening free.
  9. Finished with Trukk 1. I ended up doing some brush work to get the shading I wanted. I almost forgot the whitewalls!

  11. You don't need a cleaning kit. Be careful of cleaners that contain ammonia (corrosive). Q-Tips and paper towels are all you need. The pipecleaner brushes can damage the airbrush if used too vigorously.
  12. Chime in time: A note about needle sizes. They generally come in 3 sizes, Fine (.2mm), Medium(.3mm), and Large(.5mm). Start with the medium. The first brush I ordered was this Master Brush G233 from Amazon: $40 I've been happy with it. It's a knockoff but works just fine. I then ordered a Badger Sotar 2020 with a fine needle. The fine is just too small for acrylics, I have constant clogging issues. I also lost the spray tip and it was $30 to replace. It's build quality is much better than the Master, but too be honest I'd go with a cheaper brush to start with and use the extra money to get your incidentals, like thinner, cleaner, needle lube, etc. I just ordered this Master G34 with a Medium Needle: $30 The cup is smaller than the G233 and hopefully easier to clean. If I was making a living with my airbrush I'd absolutley go with a Badger, but these cheap Masters seem to be OK.
  13. Hahahahahahahahahahaha! The bitz alone make these great kits! Plastic Grot crew!
  14. They were using it as a mask. 1. Base coat the model, seal 2. apply toothpaste were chipping is to occur 3. paint topcoat, let paint dry 4. wipe off toothpaste
  15. I read about it on a modeler forum and was hoping someone had some insight. I'm going to test it anyways...
  16. Yup. I'll try to make a better combat showing this time.
  17. Old school Freebootaz could buy stuff from other books, mostly vehicles. Not looted, but bought straight up. Applied to some wargear, too. They were mercenaries as well, so they could potentially be a formation with a large allies matrix.
  18. I was hoping I'd be Elite, I'd like to do Soviet Blood Axe Dreadbash/walker/Tankers.
