March. The Vancouver event will be in March. It's called "March to War."
Get it?GET IT?!?!!?!!??!
I thought you were going to move it because slamwitch is likely going to be in Jan? OFCC is also a month later than last year.
How about: A'pril war to win
Pril meaning premature, breaking down the 4th wall and describing us, people stuck before our ascension to maturity, playing with plastic toys.
It's deep man (TWSS!!)

Hmmm, well in the meantime keep your eye out for the Slamwitch in Bellingham. Barring that, there will be another 1 day event in April I am guessing down in the Couv. I have a guest bedroom in Portland if having a place to stay is the make/break for coming down to Vancouver.
It might be nice to try and promote an event in the Seattle area to pull folks out of hiding. Your suggestion of Issaquah sounds rad, have you been there before?
-
Yeah,
Blind Dragon Hobbies is probably near you @Grensche? Looks like a pretty good store, 4.5 / 5.
I think it would be fun to make a trip up to Seattle, and have the folks from B-ham come down. It is pretty cheap on a train for us from Portland. What to do once we arrive at King Station though would be more difficult. The bus system is pretty good, but it takes a long time for areas south of Seattle.
Where do all the cool gamers hang out in Seattle? There must be a bunch of untapped fantasy wargamers out there. Seattle metro is about 50% more populated than Portland Metro.
We could alternatively gather the troops and carpool up together from Portland/Couv, I just like trains :D.

Man, all of you guys live down south. :(
No sir, you just simply live up North.
Are you in the Seattle area?

Sunday sounds delightful!

Hey guys,
Instead of making new threads with an updated date for when I want to propose playing a match, I figured I would just keep posing in one thread.
With that, is anyone interested in a game on 11/18? I am bored of waiting for 2.0 to be released, feels like Duke Nuke'm forever hype. If you wanna get slizered by my lizards, then lets make it happen... like a G6.

So much for TMS. I fear their reputation will be tarnished for a while.
Tuff biz tho, the costs seem extraordinary for a startup.

Yeah! I just discovered Next level painting myself. I like his style of not being OCD about upkeep or preparation. Lots of airbrush videos are people who use a handful of colors in large quantities. Not like minis where we might switch to 30 different colors in a short time span.
I need a new brush to make the gangsta gumbo though... Mine does not have a needle guard, so creating a back flow would require a sacrifice to the blood gods.
-
Oh, that is a pretty lame excuse....
-
I was recently told to get a small tub of mineral spirits and just leave the brush in there. So once you are done using it, drop it in, walk away. Obviously that is the lazy way to do it, but I have the same problem where I just cant get the darn thing clean enough. It looks clean, but 2 weeks later it suffers from little dried flecks in the oh-so-hard to reach places.
What kind of paint are you shooting thru it? It just does not shoot any paint at all?!
Do you use flow improver? (which I think is like a mild form of airbrush cleaner).
I have a junk brush too, and I have the same problems with 50%+ time is spent dinking around with the brush. The rest of the time I get a marginal spray. Ill let you know if this new strategy works for my brush (once I get the mineral spirits).

Dang, those infantry have a lot of character! Looks like a lot of work to paint!
Headswaps look flawless.
What kind of airbrush do/did you have?
-
I don't understand why it was scrapped tho, they hit their funding target.
Perhaps they celebrated away the money? I have heard of kickstarters doing that in the past, basically just walking away with the money the acquire.

*a dash of thread necromancy*
GW made a roleplaying system? Is it mechanically good / different than traditional D&D mechanics?i

Snap, it only costs $26 to take the Amtrak to Seattle during the winter. ($52 round trip). Anyone have any Seattle connections? I believe Bryan is the only one in the area.
-
I totally would if it did not involve 9 hours of driving ;)
-
Anyone down for some "spooky wargames"? I dont really know how to make any game Halloween themed, unless we could somehow get some Undead players to show up? Or perhaps....
Secure the (candy stash) objective?
Some random zombie hordes ambling around the battlefield walking in random directions?
A monster mash?

I will be there! I also may have gotten a second to come along as well.
If anyone wants to play some 1v1, 2v2, or any v AI X-wing, let me know. I have all of DisruptiveConduct's stuff so no minis necessary.

Pinktaco is way above my paygrade. I think he's on the Advisory Board. It's pretty much up to the Background Team anyway, of which Giladis is the Czar. And big G is very hard to persuade.
There is a starter rulebook and I expect the models in the starter box to fit with that. They limit the rules as well as the units used.
Isn't PinkTaco's paygrade == your Paygrade?
I would say you are equals in that respect. So you have some latitude.
Think of it this way....
VS and SA are maybe going to remain primary foes. As a VS player, you have to deal with pronouncing the names of the dinosaur targets you want to blow away with your silly artillery guns.
You have the same problem as the SA players. Remember that if you use the 8 edition name, your WM automatically misfires and you take a shot of scotch.
Make this happen!

The video for the starter set is rad, good production value for a miniatures product. I dont think this starter box really does 9th age rule system any amount of justice tho. Not many strategic options with 1000pts or less of models. I think this box set would need to come with a confined play space and a scenario or two. This is basically the scale of a flank of a normal T9a game.
John, if you could, while 2.0 is changing names up, have them change the names of the SA dinosaurs again. The current names are.... lame...
Lustria Online has awesome names all picked out, then pinktaco got /ignored or something. Now we have a "Thyrocuttus" which I cannot spell nor pronounce.

4500 Is lame I say!

Sam dumped me this week. I'm down 2 play.
