  1. @Zmachine if you just want to learn the game I ha e more than enough orks (in various states of painting) to field multiple armies. Not as much as most but as a new ork player I can likely do 1k per side Ish
  2. Not balanced for sure. 750 lists the space Marines are at 35-40 PL... As an Ork I am 30 or under
  3. I think the best way to get used to something is to play a game. If anyone has a spade marine army they want to lend out, I have orks and would love to run you through the game. 10 years ago means 4th edition I believe as that's when I picked up my first codex the day I graduated Navy Boot camp. So there will be some big differences in getting started again in rules and how vehicles work but I think a small set of games would help you. An easy 500 points to get the basics, a jump to 750 for something slightly bigger.
  4. Oh, or are we using things like the new Chapter Approved missions? Those have some fun twists, like character only held objectives and such
  5. When most all options are pretty good but one option is superior and you aim for that option with the intent to win, it feels WAAC to me. In the case of kulturs for a charging army, evil sunz is the WAAC option because it gives you a huge mathematical boost. That's my opinion. I want to win and I have an evil sunz force being built (Kommandos included and nobz) with nob Warbikers and a Wartrike and the such but they are far from optimized really. Just there for the times I want to play with speed
  6. I loved it. Even with its unreliability, as Deathskulls they have to always consider it. A lot of my play style is forcing decisions your opponent doesn't want to do onto them and the Shokk Attakk Gun creata a situation where they have to ask themselves if it's worth it. Mathematically, it should average 7 but that's overall. In my game it got a 7, a 3, a 11, a 10, and a 7 so a over average and while it didn't reliably kill tree argets every time it fired was a "oh snap" moment. Especially when it did 24 wounds to a rank Commander.... That made me happy... Stupid punisher had killed 2 squads of Boys in 2 turns
  7. Mainly because I like Deathskulls but also for the consistent rerolls and last ditch invul Save on everything. Ah, and because of the objective secured. Basically the entire rule is to my liking and I am not trying to go WAAC. The problem is points. Always points, well and models. I am getting more nobz but I am either waiting on them to come in or to be painted. The other thing I am looking at is being versatile. The trukk with the meganobz, banner, and bustas can engage hesgy targets at range, the banner negates the saws penalty making the 12 attacks to be more consistent and is a character with objective secured so for some missions in the new Chapter Approved book, especially the ones that say "only characters can capture these" he becomes useful. Though a pain boy might be nice. Still I want to test this out
  8. You don't have to... But the CP is really nice. I alway a debate on making the same equivalent with the orks

    Tau...

Sadly no. I believe all mine were traded away... I got a lot a box for a ton of TAU bits but I can double check

  11. That's what I learned today. Multiple threats that can take a beating or be a threat. So for me, both will be a test
  12. I should of T1 Da Jumped. The lootas killed the 2 heavy weapon teams, showed off into the two normal squads... Yeesh that's a good battle plan. Hmmm makes. Small squads of lootas dangerous. A 5 man squad is not hugely reliable. Hmmm
  13. @Jason definitely brought things to counter orks and I did not bring things to counter vehicles or press any advantages. Lesson learned
  14. Got my first game in today... Was a BLAST! I lost with just both Big Meks remaining. One off index one shokk attakk. My list was Deathskulls and Badmoons Badmoons were: Warboss (he should of been Deathskulls) KFF Big Mek 19 boys with big Choppa Nob and 2x tankbusta bombs (tbb) 2 squads of 10 grots 10 lootas (they did work) 2 Traktor Kannons Deathskulls were Shokk Attakk Gun Big Mek Wierd Boy 20 Boys and Nob with PK with 2x TbB 2 squads 10 grots I was playing against a mordian player with 2 mortar squads, a punisher Leman Russ and a standard Leman Russ and against the anti infantry missile tank (Wyvern?) He had 4 squads of guard, a Commander 2 psykers and rating snipers T1; I showed off and more dakka the lootas killing most of 3 normal squads, the shoota boys only had 6 guys in range to shoot ratings T1 and killed 4... For my first ork shooting I think that is amazing Lootas had hot and cold rolling T1 getting 3 shots but wiffing on killing a squad and decimating 2 other guard squad. The SAG didn't do much till T3 (where it dealt 24 damage to the punisher Leman Russ Commander) In the end his punisher killed 2 squads of boyz and I even green tied the Shoota boys but they died to mass mortar to the point they they auto failed leadership (the second time that would of happened if I hadn't saved them T1) So many mistakes on my end. Oh and I could of repaired my Traktor Kannons but I forgot about that. @Jason was a great player and made it fun. He even noticed when I tilted and matched me. I appreciate that greatly. Kept me from being a total pain. Those Mordians are going to get it good next time!
  15. Yes and no. Lootas are good but reliability is a big thing. They can definitely do it though
  16. Easily better at smashing knights. I think one set for 360 is a good threat force and is usable in a wide variety of situations
  17. I think the threat of them is a huge strength for them. Though you can get what... 12 boys for each basic Dredd
  18. So deff dredds fall into your trash category?
  19. Heh... Heh... Good thing I 3d printed up a ton of 5 and 10 man trays.
  20. Dis is Ours! Zog off!! Just sounds so much better
  21. Knights get something in Chapter Approved don't they, some missions make them count as multiple models?
  22. Heh... And if dey be Deathskulls dey tell you to Zogg Off Dis is Ours! Dis Is Ours! Zog Off!: If your army is battle-forged, all Troops units in Ork Detachments gain this ability. Such a unit that is within range of an objective Markers (as specified in the mission) controls the objective marker even if there are more enemy models within range of that objective marker. If an enemy unit within range of the same objective marker has a similar ability, then the objective marker is controlled by the player who has the most models within range of it as normal.
