Guest
Trying to figure out if I'm better off buying or scratchbuilding 3 of these. To that end, trying to figure out what makes the model. FW site says it's about 4" tall and it just barely fits on a 60mm round base. Looks like a CSM dreadnought with reinforced sentinel legs (and arms to match). Anyone have both a plastic sentinel and plastic dreadnought? Is that about 4"?

Guest
Hmm...well, was planning to wait for a response, but I had some metal sentinel legs and a plastic dread I wasn't using...it kinda became a life of it's own. Dread for size comparison. Those plastic "turrets" are magnetisted there - they are the basis of a the arms.
Brick Bungalow
cool!
WestRider
Looks like someone skipped leg day ;) Some ideas here from someone else working on one. For an easier-to-find size comparison, 4" tall and barely fits on a 60mm base would be just a tiny bit taller than a Redemptor, and roughly as bulky.
The Last Guardsmen
Needs more cables I think. Also save them turrets for tanks. and try building some limbs around sprue with Chimera track wheels for the joints to keep the lanky look. As it is a deamon engine you can work in some muscle on the arms and legs too if you want to add a little spice.

Decimators have long arms and legs.
The Last Guardsmen
Okie. I can see it now. Carry on.
PourSpelur
Greenstuff tentacle roller would be an awesome tool for this. Use sentinel legs and sprue arms, cover in cables/tentacles like chaotic "muscles". I have one like the pic below and it's great, heartily reccomend. Guest
Sort of at a standstill on this project. I don't like the legs and the arms as is, plus the torso needs more plating, but haven't decided how to adjust them. Those FW books are sure taking their time to arrive, which is giving time to rethink fielding decimators. And then it hit me. I think those Primaris Dreadnoughts should be about the right size.... https://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/Space-Marines-Primaris-Redemptor-Dreadnought And at $65 each, they are still cheaper than the FW decimators. Should give me the arms, legs, and plating I want. Hmm... though for that price, dreadnights are also a valid option. Dunno, still at a standstill. Suggestions welcome. Guest
If wondering, this one has sorta fizzled out. I've got this project shelved for the time being. Got some really cool other projects going, but this decimator is on hold, possibly in definitely.
Guest
While cleaning, I discovered that I have a set of legs from the forgefiend AND that they fit perfectly in the killa kan arm slots. One for size: And one to show the arm potential:
WestRider
Yeah! Those look way better than the first set of legs you had.
