fingolfen
I've been madly putting together tanks for Team Yankee (having picked up both the US and Soviet boxes). First impressions - the Abrams is extremely cool because you get parts for the M1 and M1A1 versions - though there is some oddness with the rear armor skirt and the retaining plate - I still haven't decided what I'm going to do about that yet... The T-72 overall is pretty nice as well. Getting the gun cleaned up with the multiple points of attachment is a pain, and the rear auxiliary fuel tanks are also a pain (join seam in the worst possible place - but that's common to T-72 kits in just about ANY scale). Otherwise it's a shake 'n bake (throw some glue in a box, shake it up, finished miniature comes out). Fun comparison of a Panzer IV Ausf H, T-72, and T-35 to give you a sense of the scale: Full detailed review at the blog: http://miniordnancerev.blogspot.com/2015/12/team-yankee-miniature-review-abrams-and.html

ZeroMoon17
Great review, I too was really impressed with the plastic kits for Team Yankee. Heck I'd buy the kits just to build and paint them up they are so nice :). Luckily it comes with a game too!
barca
Thx.Us models went together cleanly.Soviet more finicky. Like the result. But for the Hind helicopter I had to reinforce the rotor hub connection to blades with strips of brass. Before the reinforcement, one of the blades cracked during painting.Eventually I will make a blade replacement out of clear plastic disks.Soviet tanks look nice but assembly more tricky than Abrams tanks.Lining up the t-72 turret tops and bottoms required using clamps while glue set. Without clamps, top and bottom pieces not correctly lined up.After all that, I still love the result.
barca
Btw, thx to Zeke's influence, I have the desire to keep going back to these models to add more details and customization.
Noland
Everything was sold out in Tacoma so I could not get my paws on any of it. Is the rule book just for game play or does it have the company breakouts?
barca
Yes there are .org charts in the rule book, pages 78-97.Team-yankee-rule-book, if not in ur gaming store, battlefront or Amazon, or alternate book source, isbn 9780994120625http://www.amazon.com/Team-Yankee-World-War-III/dp/0994120621
Bolo
The American set has the option of building your M1's as M1A1's .... I've gone that direction since I am sure BF has the vision to delve into the first and second Gulf wars ... down the road. Barca ... if you come up with and easy way to do those clear plastic disks let me in on it as I think its a great solution for the main and tail rotors ... I just don't see the blades lasting to long ... even with general handling something is bound get broken.

Will do. Trying to get this ASAP, since I would like to use clear plastic for gaming and original rotors for "static display"
barca
Painting the Soviet Mi-24 Hind Helicopter: My Hind helo colors are the GSFG colors, like the cover of the Zaloga bookhttp://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51%2BNvl%2Bs52L._SX368_BO1.jpgand this:http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/hh240/andyrix/Soviets/airassault/file_zps84d615d1.jpgand this: http://www.cybermodeler.com/hobby/decals/lhd/images/lhd48012_p1.jpgThe colors shown by battlefront are mostly for Afghanistan: Mi-24 Hind in Afghanistanhttps://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/ea/69/5c/ea695cb975ac144eecb57fef5b2ac32f.jpghttps://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/34/2a/84/342a845332a3dc860cca4a1dd7bf2b91.jpg Painting Soviet T-72 tanksInstead of the light "Tommy Green" shade that Battlefront shows on their T-72s, mine are closer to my memories of being in Germany in 1985:My T-72 color schemes look like this:http://www.tanks-encyclopedia.com/coldwar/USSR/T-72/photos/T72monument-Nizhni-Tagil.jpgand this:http://www.tanks-encyclopedia.com/coldwar/USSR/T-64/photos/T-64AK_at_the_T-34_Tank_History_Museum.jpg I should know. I had these images burned into my brain from 1981 until 1989, for operations in Europe. I also saw many of the images from Afghanistan ('79-'89). Camo and base paint schemes were noticeably different, when comparing the forces in these two regions..Zeke and T.S:Now here is an awesome paint job: http://www.snopes.com/photos/military/eaglecopter.asp#photo For other Warsaw Pact nationalities, so many other paint schemeshttp://www.tanks-encyclopedia.com/coldwar/USSR/soviet_T-72.php

barca
One note about the T-72 tanks. The white "sidewall" on the road wheels is only for parades and museum pieces.
