i am trying a poll to see how it works here.  I have not done this before so...  I hope it works?  I am on multiple forums and will post the same thing there when I get a few moments but I thought it might be good to get opinions.

That's actually what I'm planning on taking to this OFCC, but it doesn't work at 2K with a 3 Detachment limit, like Elvensword has traditionally had. My version of it actually needs 8 Detachments, so it's kind of unlikely in any format with Detachment limits.

OFCC is the perfect place for that. So easy to transport too.

Hopefully it'll play fast as well. It kind of sucked this year, trying to handle Captain duties while running KDK, because most of my Games went right up to the time limit.

I voted BA because I know Lars is hoping to run his BA instead of DE this year, was hoping to have that slot available for him to try for.

Honestly, I feel Astartes should only be represented once.  The registered player choosing which Astartes codex is the one they are playing.

*shrug* If we're going to call BA/DA the same as SM, then I think it's fair to say that GSC (and MT) are just as similar to IG.

I'd go a step further and put all the Space Marine armies as one faction, so I'd add Deathwatch, GK and CSM into the same group as all the Astartes factions.

MT should fall under the IG bracket.  I'd go one step further and call it Forces of the Imperium, and have it be IG, MT, OA, Inq as options for that Ambassador.  For the Tyranid Ambassador, I'd say Bugs or GSC would be legit.

 

Astartes would cover SM, DA, BA, SW, DW, GK.  Forces of Chaos would CSM, KDK, CD.  Forces of Mars would be IK and the rest of the AdMech.

I, much like GW, forgot about SoB.  I'd throw them in with Forces of the Imperium.  Continuing with the theme of Ambassadors within the fluff is why I wouldn't group CSM with with rest of the Astartes, otherwise, wouldn't we be putting KDK there, as well?

 

 

I would also consider CAD + Allied Detachment as being permissible within each of the "8 Factions"

Interesting outcome so far.  Are there people who actually have this army?  I know one took second place at the MUGU "Championship" Sunday, so maybe?  Seems like they would have had to kill themselves to get it painted in time.  Maybe not.

I'm not planning on it, but I could do it. Partly because I'm good at getting a decent paint job done fast, but mostly because I actually have a bunch of Hybrids already that I converted up back in the day to use with The Lost and the Damned Rules. I can't be the only one.

The codex is so new and I know so little about it that I hope it is significantly distinct internally, if you know what I mean.

I've only given it a quick read-through and seen a few other people's thoughts, but it's looking like a really good Dex to me, so far. The Cult Ambush and Return to the Shadows Rules should let it play like nothing else does at the moment.
