  1. Speaking of leveling up, Duron now has Craft Wondrous Item and is up for taking orders.
  2. I don't need TIEs or X-Wings, but if you do decide to part with any of your unboxed stuff, I'm in the market for a Y-Wing and a B-Wing and could also use certain upgrade cards, notably the Push the Limit card that came with the A-Wing.
  3. They definitely made him look cuter in the Anniversary Edition. Here is the art from the original books:
  4. I feel like if someone was like "I couldn't make it down to game night because I got stabbed in an alley" and I was like "Blood for the Blood God!!!" it wouldn't go over as well.
  5. RECAP ALERT After the battle with the ghouls, Yasuo and Dragos decided that Sandpoint might be in need of a little more protection and the party split up before entering the Nettlewood. The remaining foursome of Hieronymous, the Pigman, Razdoran, and the silent elf Duron traveled through the thistley woods for the better part of the day before approaching the shore and finding their way to Thistletop blocked by a huge briarpatch. Razdoran's keen eyes spotted an entry into the briarpatch through a 4-foot high tunnel hidden by a "thistle-door" of goblin design and much discussion was had about how to proceed. Pigman tried to talk his pig into scouting out the entrance alone, but the pig ran off into the woods and had to be chased down and drug back to the briarpatch, but even then couldn't be convinced to go solo so Pigman crawled through the thistle door along with his pig and started scouting out the area. After consulting nature spirits on which way to go, the shaman went left and found another hidden door giving him a vantage point out over the cliffs onto the ocean where he could see the goblin fort of Thistletop sitting atop a giant stone head sticking out of the water. it looked like this: Moving back through the briars, Pigman tried the right-side path and found himself in a bit of a maze, finding first a higher-ceilinged "room" with a hole in the ground that led to the ocean 80 feet below, and then a room full of goblin dogs tied to stakes against the far wall. The dogs took note of Pigman's presence and started barking, at which point he made a hasty retreat to fill the party in on his findings. Assuring everyone that he had fully scouted out the briarpatch despite having skipped a section to the west, Pigman led the rest of the party into the briars with the intention of slaying the goblin dogs and using the patch as a staging place for their assault on Thistletop. As the rest of the party advanced on the dogs and prepared to slaughter them from afar, Pigman left the main group to check out the western passage that had been previously neglected, only to stick his head out of the tunnel and see a group of ten goblins sitting around a cookfire. His pig squealed at the sight (Pigman got a natural 1 on his stealth roll) and the entire room of goblins turned to face him, drawing their weapons. One of the goblin dogs broke free of his bonds, but was swiftly dealt with as Pigman rounded the corner with a pack of goblins hot on his tail. Duron placed a spot of grease at a choke-point in the tunnels that caused a goblin pileup as four or five goblins tumbled over each other and fell into the grease. Not one to miss an opportunity to burn things (especially helpless goblins), Hieronymous moved in and threw a fire bomb, setting the grease alight and roasting the majority of the goblins in the flames. At this moment from out of the tunnels beyond the room with the dogs, a cougar came out of nowhere to attack Razdoran, but he caught sight of its advance and stabbed it with his polearm, though it still managed to bite him in the leg. Following the cougar, a goblin druid showed up to the fight and cast Entangle on the entire briarpatch, causing the briars to tangle up most of the party, immobilizing them. They looked like this: The goblin pack turned around to take a detour around the fire as Potts and Duron wrestled with the vines. Pigman managed to make his way out and rushed over to heal Razdoran, but found himself mauled by a cougar for his efforts. The cougar tripped him to the ground and nearly bit out of throat, momentarily turning him into a disabled person before returning to its attack on Razdoran. The druid joined the fight with a magically conjured flaming blade that laid out quite a bit of hurt on the Barbarian. Eventually the goblins made their way through the tunnels to a different route into the room just as Hieronymous quaffed a mutagen and became Bloody Tom. Despite his immediate repulsion by Hieronymous' actions over the past few days, Bloody Tom ripped the goblin pack to shreds with his claws and teeth, crying tears of remorse and the delicious goblin blood dripped down his chin. Pigman's pig attacked the cougar, momentarily distracting it while Pigman healed himself, but before he had a chance to do anything else, a goblin dog broke loose of its bonds and pounced on him, finishing the cougar's work and ripping out a good portion of the Pigman's throat. As their glorious leader lay bleeding to death on the ground, the party fought on, Bloody Tom bathing in goblin blood and tears while fighting off the entangling vines and Razdoran eventually slaying the cougar, then the goblin dog, then finally dropping the druid. After healing Pigman's wounds, the party dispatched the last of the goblin dogs and finished exploring the briarpatch, finding the druid's lair and a northern exit leading to a rickety rope bridge accross the 60-foot gap between the cliff and the island fort that appeared to be capable of supporting no more than one party member at a time. With no real consensus on how to proceed next, Razdoran convinced the rest of the party to lower him down the hole in the ground to the ocean below and, upon reaching the end of the shaft, he found a sea cave with a rocky ledge off to the side. Swinging over to the ledge, he untied himself from the rope and spotted a dark shape swimming in the water, which as an experienced sailor, he recognized as a Bunyip. It looked like this: Deciding himself up to the task of killing the seal-shark hybrid alone, he tried to spear the monster in the water, but missed horribley and found himself with a set of razor sharp teeth biting him as the bunyip leapt out of the water at him. Trading blows back and forth, Razdoran eventually killed the creature, but was sorely wounded in the process. Despite his injuries however, he decided that to continue exploring the sea cave and found two tunnels leading out to ocean, but the waves outside the cave were too much for him and slammed his face into the cliff wall, finally causing him to return inside. Retying the rope around himself, he made his way back up the shaft, bloody and bruised with a bunyip corpse in tow. Checking back on the fort, the party found that four goblins mounted on goblin dogs had exited the gates to patrol around front while another four goblins manned the two guard towers, two in each. In an effort to draw the goblins out, Pigman affixed a goblin's head to his pig and sent it accross the bridge, but the goblins chased it off with a volley of arrows, one arrow lodging itself uncomfortably up the pig's ass. Attempts at luring the goblins having failed, the party tried firing a volley of their own arrows at the goblins accross the bridge, but the patrol fled back inside the fort and the goblins in the watch towers returned fire from heavy cover, causing the party to abandon that plan. Deciding to take a night to heal up, recover spells, and rethink their plans, the party made camp in the briarpatch, planning to assault the fort the next day. As the new day dawned, the group set out accross the bridge, going one man at a time, each being pelted with tiny arrows before making it to safety beneath the rampart walls. Bloody Tom and Razdoran made it accross first and Tom scaled the wall easily, while Razdoran had difficulty finding a way up. At the top of the walls, Tom could see that no less than ten goblins were waiting inside for him with shortbows drawn. After taking a volley of arrows from 14 goblin archers with only a single hit dealing damage, Tom quaffed a potion of Enlarge Person and climbed down the wall amidst the crowd of goblins. Meanwhile outside the walls, Razdoran continued to struggle at climbing the wall while Pigman and Duron took cover in some nearby bushes and took potshots at the goblins in the tower. Eventually Razdoran made it to the top of the wall as Bloody Tom got bloody (wtih goblin blood) inside, killing swaths of goblins every round with a combination of claws and teeth. With Razdoran joining the fight, things ended quickly for the defenders. Pigman managed to pick off one of the goblins in the tower with some magical aiming while Duron retreated into the fort when the doors were opened. Tom and Razdoran rushed into the towers and finished off the goblins up top, which also gave them a good view of the fort. The majority of the remaining rooms were roofed over, but a large open-air courtyard was visible with a group of five goblin dogs barking and scratching at a shed with several dead goblins lying nearby and horse noises coming from within. Tom and Razdoran made their way into the courtyard and silenced the dogs, while Duron and Pigman followed behind, offering moral support. As the warriors busted down a dead-end series of doors, Pigman admistered some healing and opened up the shed to calm the horse, which turned out to be a great black heavy warhorse which looked pretty badass. Eventually, Tom and Raz managed to find their way to a large throne room filled with goblins and presided over by Chief Ripnugget, who rode atop a giant gecko and ordered his tribe to attack. He looked like this: The battle renewed, Tom and Razdoran ripped goblins to pieces as Duron laid down grease traps to trip up the defenders. Pigman mounted the heavy warhorse and charged through the fort into the throne room to join the fight, the horse kicking and biting goblins to death while Pigman doled out healing from atop its back. The fight was fierce, with the chief dropping Razdoran and Bloody Tom both to the ground. Duron managed to stun the giant gecko with a blast of color spray and Pigman healed Tom up just enough to bring him back to conciousness. Laying in a pool of his own blood, Tom lashed out at the goblin chieftan from the ground, gaining a mouthful of goblin balls for his effort and seriously wounding the chief. The wizard landed the killing blow with a magic missile and the surviving goblin, a bard, surrendered. After a great deal of healing was passed around, the party questioned the goblin warchanter and discovered that the lower level of Thistletop was inhabited by Nualia, the demonic woman that had been mentioned in Tsuto Kaijitsu's journals found in the Glassworks. Searching through the fort, the party found a secret door leading to a horrible smelling latrine with a hole in the ground covered in poo poo. Confident that there was something fishy about a pooproom hidden behind a secret door, Razdoran spent several minutes searching through the goblin poop until, deep in the stinking hole, he found a buried chest. Dragging the chest ouf the hole, he opened it up with a key found in the chief's room and was cut with a trapped blade, but found nearly 10,000 coins, most of them copper pieces and some other assorted treasure. The top level of Thistletop cleared out, the party resolved to rest up and lick their wounds (though hopefully after a bath in Razdoran's case) before delving into the depths below to confront the true mastermind behind the attacks on Sandpoint.
  6. He's dead Duncan. Everybody's dead. Everybody's dead Duncan.
  7. Pathfinder group is continuing the goblin genocide.
  8. Thinking about it though, the E-Wing's risky design choices are represented in it only having 2 hull versus the X-Wing having 3.
  9. Is that new? I know the 2013 world championship was 100.
  10. Joey I had a dream last night that you smelled bad and had cancer. This means that in my subconscious I think of you as Spock.
  11. I could see Z-95 swarms being pretty great. As for E-Wings and Defenders, I think that things will depend on the maneuver dials and the pilot abilities to see how they measure up. I am a little worried by how expensive both ships can get, but maybe it'll be time to up up the game to 150 points standard?
  12. Aw [big bad swear word], FFG just revealed the next wave of ships: http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_news.asp?eidn=4645 My thoughts: TIE Defenders: These look super beefy, but are pretty expensive too. Still, I could see having one or two around being pretty badass. Also looking forward to seeing what sort of "never before seen" maneuvers they have. TIE Phantoms: 4 Attack! This looks pretty sweet, but I think how good they are will depend on how the cloak ability ends up working. E-Wing: Looks pretty solid all around. Pretty much a TIE Interceptor with 2 shields 2 hull and a lot more upgrade options so I'm in. Z-95 Headhunter: 12 points for the cheapest guy makes Rebel swarm lists a possibility. Looking forward to seeing how they stack up! Looking forward to seeing what kind of pilot abiltiies some of these guys have.
  13. That's what the van said and that didn't turn out well.
  14. Heh, sounds good. I'm fine with my proxy card for now, but I imagine someday I might want to go to an actual tournament (that I'm not running) and I suspect they might be more of sticklers about this.
  15. Crossposting this blurb I sent to Dark Tower to put up on their Facebook. Mind stickying this until the date Jim? Come down to Dark Tower Games on February 22nd to play some games of the X-Wing: Miniature Game with lots of friendly people! Whether you're a seasoned veteran or a rookie pilot, this will be a great chance to fly some spaceships around the table and make laser sounds while having lots of fun! Flight instructors will be on hand for those just dipping their toes into the game with demo games running throughout the day. Even if you don't own any models, this is a great chance to try before you buy! All ages welcome! See you there! You guys should all attend whether you can make it all day or just show up for a while, I'm thinking it will be lots of fun!
  16. Yeah that's what I said I think, Attack would cap out at 5. I just meant Defense would cap out at 6 against other stuff.
  17. I'm planning to go. Are we just keeping our same team as last year Andy, Shaun, and Joey?
  18. There is. Advanced Proton Torps are Attack 5 and an Agi 3 ship can get up to 6 Defense if it has Stealth Device, Cover, and Range 3. I have 9 or each die that I could probably trade away. No chance you'd want to trade the A-Wing's Push the Limit card for two of each would you?
  19. We'd talked about making a stickied thread for this and that's probably a good idea as I'm a little fuzzy on what's going on this year too.
