Game One. I played Joe B. From Vancouver, WA. I drove up with him and had never played him in any game system before. Joe plays Tohaa, brutal, nasty Tohaa with Nehma , lots of snipers, and plenty of Makual. This was my second game vs. Tohaa, so I do not have a great deal of experience with them or how to play them. I won WIP and had Joe place first and picked the far side. Mistake. I picked the wrong side. The side I gave Joe had the best fire lanes and a majority of the high ground. Did I mention he had lots of snipers? Joe took advantage of all the fire lanes, took the first antennae. He raced to the second on top of the tallest building on the table. Did I mention we were playing on a table filled with Chris Matthews' Top Down Terrain? That means multiple large buildings that are 7-9 inches tall that are large on the top then they are on the bottom. My Bandit with the Killer Hacker was on the top of that building. He hid to stay alive. Joe bombed the top of the building with eclipse grenades to hid and hit the button. The bandit engaged the button pusher and won combat. On my turn, I used my Wildcat haris to spitfire the remainder of the triad off the building top. My bandit went prone and coup de grace a down triad member. Not only did I get my classified, but I scavenged the eclipse grenades. This was the game winner. The Bandit could toss Eclipse Grenades, hit the button, and revert to camo. I tried to probe up my right flank, but the Gael Rael Viral Sniper with symbiomate and symboit army was too hard to take out. It took out Lupe, an ML, and an HMG...... With my advance thwarted, I squeak out a win. It was a challenging game with a new opponent and an army I rarely play against: win. Joe and I spoke in funny voices for half the game. What a hoot!

Dylan Gould ran the event. He made the day seamless. I thank him for running a good event. Prize support was great. So Dylan ran a four round event. The first round was a bye round. Players determined if they wanted to start the round with a win, a tie, or a loss. The round counted and was used to set seating for the event. I picked a loss. It was my first H3 event. I was playing in a new meta, I was a last minute entry, and I did not care if I won or loss. I was looking for goods games against new opponents and against armies I do not regularly play.

Oh-be-Kay-be, I played some Infinity at Olympic Cards and Comics. First, I rode up with Joe B. John Allen, and George Spencer. What a great group of guys. The trip to Olympia blurred by. The event was organized at Olympic Cards and Comics to try to be a half-way point between the Seattle and Portland players. There is no good halfway spot, but OCC is a good place to play. First, it is easy to get to off I-5. Second, the place is impressive. The store has something for every one inside. The staff is helpful and very female friendly. It is a place I would gladly take my daughters. I like the rules of the store: No swearing. No politics. No religion. I did tease and was teased by Gabi over me wearing my Timbers shirt in Sounders country. The store has multiple sections and high ceilings. The sound is muffled, so I did not get the gamer's headache after the day. ..........

  10. George, If you still have room in your car, I have the clearance to go to the event.
  11. No matter how many tree limbs you cut, your wife will find more.
  12. Don't use a sawsall to cut down green walnut limbs into smaller pieces. You end up feeling shaken, not stirred.
  13. Please start buying tickets for this event. We have one purchased ticket for this event, so far. We need 10 paid tickets by July 1st for this event to go. Also, start booking your hotel room before the discounted room go away.

Well, tonight I did something a bit different. I played very lean and dropped my go to models. No expensive Intruders for my 300 point game. I went cheap. I had 17 orders, an Alguacil Link and a Wildcat Fireteam. I had a few nice pieces to run up the table, but nothing that was game changing on it's own. It was a mirror of Evan's list: Lots of screw drivers, few hammers. Evan's fame luck was not with him tonight, so I managed to squeak out a win.
  15. For a change, I used a different defense tactic. Instead of my hide and go seek shenanigans, I stood up with defensive Fire team. In total fear of the Yuan-Yuans, I tried to cover all approaches to my line. The rest of your line was untouchable.

The Daktari is done. Now, I am starting on the Wildcat Spitefire. At this rate, I need to finish 3 Wildcat and a Lupe Balboa for OFCC.
