  1. Just have someone bid for you. IM sure you can find someone with a facebook account. Hehehe.
  2. Here are the auction rules: Bids should be sent to Jaclyn McCoy through PM on Facebook, not on the items themselves. All items have a number on them identifying their lot number. Pay close attention to that number when you bid. Don’t get it wrong! You can bid multiple times for the same item. When you bid, you bid by specifying the item number and amount like this: “$13 for 16”. This means you are committing $13 for the item we have marked as #16. Keeping it simple like this will make Jaclyns job much easier. You can only bid in whole dollars. For example, you could bid $11, but not $11.03. If you win one, congratulations! Cash must be received by the day of the tournament and you must pick your item up at the Game Matrix event on June 29th, or elect someone to do it for you. If someone else is picking it up for you, you need to let us know. Once you have bid, you are committing that money to Flugers family, so keep in mind that if the top bidder does not show up, you may still win the bid. Top bids will be updated periodically, to give you the chance to bid again, so keep an eye on it. Final bids will be taken at 5PM June 28th, to give us time to prepare everything to be delivered to its new homes and ALSO give us breathing room to do the tournament prep we need to do!

  5. As you may know I am organizing a tournament to raise money for Nathan Fluger, as he has Spinal Cancer. The thing has expanded. Game companies and people who love him have sent me or committed to items to auction off, in order to raise yet more. We have a REALLY nice array of things for you to look at and peruse. It's quite a lot actually. I took the time to number everything as well as add descriptions and even normal retail prices you might expect to pay for them and you can bid as much as you want for them. All the money we collect will be given to the Fluger family. I have this stuff posted elsewhere, but sometimes people stop paying attention if they aren't PLAYING in the event. So I thought I'd throw this up and direct you to where the pictures of everything is so you can scroll through them. We are using the Facebook simply because we can't fit the items anywhere else and make them easily accessible. If you have a friend whose going and they can pick it up for you or if you want ot come and enjoy the event and come get some awesome goodies at ridiculously good prices, this is the way to do it. https://m.facebook.com/events/667885086982742?view=permalink&id=685222968582287 Aaaand... https://m.facebook.com/events/667885086982742?view=permalink&id=685219445249306 A few examples.

  8. I took them to a tournament again. I'll go over it briefly. I'm overwrought by the death of my friend so I don't have it in me to go more in depth. Just wanted to write it while it was fresh in my mind. Game 1: I played Brian, the store owner. he had 2 ful Talos units, Wracks and a Black heart detachment of Kabalites and crazy pants hard to kill Ravagers and venoms plus Deep Striking Grotesques. it took essentially my whole army to kill three Talos and then the same to get the second unit. QUITE hearty. My Seraphim were boses and killed enough Wracks on the drop to make them want to get away and then they killed a Ravager and kept hopping. The Grotesques Deepstruck in and he failed the charge even with a re-roll (I need to look up the re-roll since i wasnt aware they could!) and then i backed away, which caused him eventually to miss a second charge. My Arco-Flagellents then massacred the unit after it was whittled. That really was the biggest deal during the game, although whether it would have changed much is another matter. He might have just hastened theArco-Flagellent attack by one round, but we'll never know now. In any event it was a win for the Sisters of Battle against the megashooty and yet...Mega-hitty Dark Eldar. The Exorcists pretty much took a crap on me and i had to do everything the rally hard way which did reduce my score considerably. I was real real impressed with the Talos though. 23-15 Sisters of Battle Victory, but we didn't get to play it out to turn 6, which cost me a lot of points. Game 2: I fought a massively shooty Primaris Marine army with a ForgeWorld Dreadnought, Venerable Dreadnought, a Devastator Squad, couple Sternguard Squads and the rest Primaris and characters to boost their CONSIDERABLE shooting. I used the central LOS blocker as much as i could to draw the enemy out. The Exorcists crapped out again and the Seraphim had to do a lot of heavty lifting, killing his Devastators, then his Primaris snipers, then his characters and even a straggler from one Primaris unit. The Sisters got positively blown up by all that shooting so I had to be very cautious about showing myself to too many of his guys. Even that hardly slowed down the casualties and he took a HEAVY toll on my forces. Ultimately though, he wasn't killing entire units and he was losing them. He couldn't get to objectives without exposing himself more than he wanted to whereas I just pushed hard on them everywhere i could. 30-8 Sisters Victory. Game 3: This was against a Nurgle horde army with lost of character/Princes and a 10 Terminator unit of Nurgly special termies. The shenanigan withthis army was that he uses the Nurgle Stratagem to turn his whole terminator unit into a character, essentially making it impossible to shoot them and of course his 58 pozwalkers or whatever they were also were ensorcelled to be hard to hit. Net result: its a denial army. i knew taking losses wasn't going to be okay in this contest so I played back and nerfed his Psyker phases pretty good, which allowed me the chance to do some damage. i used an Act of Faith to cleverly hold more at start of game and chose to go second for that exact reason. The game was very very slow points on both sides. i blew away a ton of his guys but they made saves and feel no Pain rolls like they were going out of style. I was able to gank his Slaanesh Prince and that helped. His Pink Horrors dropped in and took a serious toll. The whole game REALLY came down to one objective. I had a desperate gambit which would have tied our game, but he didn't see it, and was being rather pushy there at the end (overall game was fine). I was going to kill the last two plague walker things which would give me the central objective if I got lucky with an exorcist, which i had to move into position unfortunately (and it worked, killing both, exactly as i needed). That would then mean that he would not hold more because the Arco and the Missionary were still there. He would then also not have killed more (his only kill that round was a Daemon Prince holding it and the two i blew away, leaving him just the Prince!). My pivotal mistake was that because he was making a big deal out of getting it over with and i got distracted to say "Hey look, its close, I want to focus here, so please stop badgering me " (not in those words but that was the message) I simply forgot to move the one Arco OUT of combat with the Daemon prince. So at the end of the phase instead of controlling the objective, the last Arco who was engaged with a Daemon prince was killed for my error. So by not moving that one guy, I lost instead of tying. A tie would have been 4th place. Le sigh. Final score was 21-19, so even though a loss, it was a valiant effort and the Sisters acquitted themselves very well again. Overall running total is 26-3. Still very pleased. Still REALLY feeling like I need that Vindicare Assassin in there tohelp with the killed more stuff against opponents like this who are just so hard to kill. Same sentiment against those Talos and their cool buffs. Ultimately a Sniper like that could really help me. Might do it. Thoughts?

I chose deployment so he deployed and had choice of going first or second. I seized. Maybe the first time i can recall in a very long time! I rolled like garbage. Exorcists fired 1 and 2 missiles nearly all game. i did 13 wounds to the Shadowsword with 5 of that being a Hunter Killer. Lol. Ya' know... i failed to kill him when I had the chance a couple more times (epic roll failing) which allowed him to ram into me and use Crush Them Stratagem to excellent effect, grinding me under his treads. My break came when he wrapped into another unit and included the Canoness. Ended up blowing him up in my shooting phase finally (and thank GAWD, no explosions). The Venerable Dreadnought wa the next to fall and then his Drago and Warlord made a run at Celestine. Drago failed and paid with his life but that unkillable Warlord of his stayed alive with some magical re-roll shenanigan (twice) which was kind of amazing. Celestine and most of my forces were deep in his deployment zone while his huge ball of Paladin death appeared behind us and started the killing. They were my Gangbuster points nad again...and again...and again... I rolled epically poorly even when fully buffed and couldn't kill more than one at a time and in return he was destroying the unit foolish enough to get in his way. it wasn't until turn 6 that I finally got the Gangbuster Points but he had killed the Green Squad, Red Squad, a Seraphim Squad, the Warlord, M y missionary, my Canoness and yeah. The whole vanguard of my army threw itself into them and just couldnt get it done until essentially I advanced my whole army all theway back tothe other side he was munching on and ganked a few in one last volley. 30-16 Sisters of Battle.

  16. It certainly helps to know what everyone else's army does but I am not sure it is critical to have a good time because frankly, when the moment comes for them to do that thing that you didn't know they could do, it's not like you could have stopped it 90% of the time. RARELY is there a situation where you can say "Oh well if I had KNOWN you were going to do Stratagem X, I would have done Z" when it comes to Stratagems. I actually was trying to think of an example where this would be true. One example that came to me was that the Imperial Guard have one called "Crush Them" which allows a tank to hit on 2's in melee, which is normally pretty much NOT a big deal except when you consider a Baneblade variant which is a brute in close combat when you do that. THEN suddenly it makes that Baneblade a LOT more dangerous than you thought it was going to be and you might not have charged it. Outside of that, I really wasn't able to think of any on short notice. If you're going in and going in hot, the other guy is there to fight too! My point is that if you know your own army pretty well, it should be enough to get you through most battles with a minimum of ""I would have done something different" coming up. Also it's my humble opinion that learning the game is half the fun. Seeing what other armies will do or can do is part of the experience. It gives you ideas, helps you morph your list over time and so on. There's a positive to the learning curve.

  19. This was a grudge match. The imperial Fists had face ignominious defeat at the hands of the Adepta Sororitas and were hell bent on vengeance. With a revamped Battalion, with changes and new plans to deploy them, Ian had no intentions of allowing his previous defeat to go unanswered. The Adepta Sororitas were more than ready for the challenge. The Imagifier rallied her forces around the ancient reliquary she bore, honored with the title of field commander and warlord for this battle as a reward for her many years of devout service. ITC Mission 5, with Priority Objective as the Bonus. Dawn of War Deployment this time and the Imperial Fists AGAIN got their choice of sides. The Adepta Sororitas deployed Purple Squad to the right wing on an Objective behind a pile of piping, and the Missionary and his Arco-Flagellents further right still in a ruin. In the center were Pink, Yellow, Green and Teal Squad clustered around the IMagifier and her coterie of Celestine and the Dalogus twins. to the left was Red Squad sitting on yet another objective. Uncharacteristically, the Seraphim began on the board clustered in and around a building to center-left of their deployment zone. The Exorcists were Centered and within easy reach of Celestine and the Imagifier. The Imperial Fists inverted their previous deployment somewhat. This time the Tactical Squads WITH Missile Launchers were to the left with line of sight to the Exorcists and camping his own objective along with some Imperial Guard. His new additions to the force, a Terminator Librarian and Smashy McSmasherson were in Deep Strike. At the center were his Plasma wielding Hellblasters with their customary character to augment them and behind that the Predatory-that-shall-not-die from our previous battle. To the right of that were his Devastators partially obscured in ruins. The Imperial Guard Company Commander with power fist was with them. Two full squads of Primaris Marines stood in front of them, one a veteran Squad. The other Veteran Squad stood on the objective in his zone to my right. Scouts snuck forward close to my zone on the right and Imperial Guardsman mingled with the Imperial Fists. Of note were the mortars to the far right rear who would rain death on me turn after turn. The stage was set. I had finished deploying first and got the +1 to go first and did indeed go first. …And then he seized. For the second time in a row. Le sigh. 1 His Snipers fired on what they could see and did a couple of mortal wounds to yellow Squad. The Primaris groups moved forward as well to allow their hellblasters to move and they collectively all shot into yellow squad, the same squad that had eluded death last game. He shot them down to just 4 models with his potent unerring shooting. The Mortars contributed really heavy fire to the cause. The lascannon Prdator, his Devastator Squad and his Tactical Marines mostly fired on the Exorcists with their heavy weapons and the Emperor Protects! Being as they were quite tough and very near Celestine and the Imagifier, the incoming fire presented little challenge to their primacy. Imperial Guard scurried forward into a building for cover on the left. Yellow Squads faith buoyed it from Failing after such horrendous losses, and Teal Squad was only slightly hurt by the Snipers, so did not need to check. The doughty Sisters of Battle began their march. Realizing that the firepower was extreme to the right of the LOS blocking central Power Generators, Pink and Green squad swung left, taking aim at the much more reasonable threat of the Tactical Marines while Red Squad stretched forward to stay on their objective but offer up some additional fire support. As this was largely an advance, there wasn’t a lot of shooting on that left side of things. Teal Squad retreated straight back, as they could not reach the safety of the Power Generators and fired on the oncoming Primaris wave. Purple Squad did nothing but hide and Yellow Squads remnants joined them behind the Piping on the right. A unit of Seraphim swept at maximum speed to the left to spread out and cut off any deep strike while the other two flattened themselves up against the Power Generators. The Exorcists actually adjusted their positions to keep within the protective Aura of St. Celestine and the IMagifier after surviving such a fierce strike from the Predator and Devastators etc… and then the Imagifier activated the Vessel of the Emperor! The Exorcists rolled terribly, killing 2 Devastators but one was a Cherub, Hunter Killer missiles and all. Disappointing, and pretty much what happened against them last game. The Missionary and the Arco-Flagellents rushed forward and consumed the Scouts and then consolidated into the Primaris Marines to halt their shooting. A risky gambit. ThePrimaris Marines struck back and then used THREE Command Points to attack again, killing the Arco-Flagellents and consolidating towards the missionary. Expensive move but it worked. 2 The Primaris were forced to move forward again as their targets were few, but Teal Squad was sitting right in front of most of them. So up came the Primaris Marines up the middle while the unit on the right swept downward towards where their scouts had died, to try and get an angle on the sisters behind the piles of piping and shot the Missionary absently in every orifice he had. The Mortars attempted to bombard Purple Squad, killing one. The Bolter fire and Hellblasters were oppressive and killed all but one of Teal Squad even after the Primaris Warriors had to move. He spent Command Points to strengthen their bolter volume and it was impressive. The Predator and Devastators continued to fire down on the Exorcists but it was the Tactical Marines who did the damage, rocking one for 5 damage and using their bolters on the oncoming Green Squad to the left, killing 4. His Librarian and Smashy McSmasherson alighted to the ground and attempted charges on the Exorcist tank. Smashy was literally shot in the face and died in the attempt, as he was asked politely to swallow an entire missile. The Librarian was unable to complete the charge but did not, in fairness, swallow any. The Adepta Sororitas response was predictably negative to all this. The Canoness, Pink Squad and Celestine wiped the Imperial Guard out on the left who had scurried into the Power Generator building. The wounded Green Squad and full Pink Squad (Using the Holy Trinity of Bolter, Melta and Flamer) combined fire to kill all but one of the Tactical Squads on the left before that happened. The Exorcists fell back again and fired down on the Primaris Marines who had killed the Missionary, killing 3. Again, not exactly a great performance from the trio. The survivor from Yellow Squad and now the 4 survivors of Teal Squad had joined Purple Squad and were making themselves as small as possible on the right to protect the Purple Squad engineers. The Seraphim that had gone far left came back to join their compatriots in the center and essentially the three Seraphim Squads waited for the inevitable to come around that corner of the Power Generators, for they could hear the heavy footfalls of the Primaris forging ever forward on the other side like a metronome… The left of the field was largely secure. Red Squad was firmly holding the left objective and had taken only one stray casualty. Bold action was needed now, because the right side was death. 3 The Primaris sensed the ease with which they were killing the Sisters and pressed their advantage. Up moved the HellBlasters. The Primaris Veterans up the middle turned the corner of the Power Generator to see the Dialogus sitting there, conveniently close to the nearest Exorcist and opened fire on the behemoth hoping to hurt it. The Librarian saw his chance for glory and took it, rushing towards the brave Engineers, their Yellow Squad survivor friend and the lone survivor of Teal squad, while the Primaris who slew the missionary on the far right shot and killed all but one of Teal Squad. The Warlord Moved so that he was perfectly within 6” of both the trailing Hellblasters and the forward Primaris. The Imperial Guard had moved forward to hold their objective on the right and were content with that role. The lone Tactical Squad on the left took a shot at the Green Squad again, along with the Exorcist, but to no avail. The Primaris Marines charged into the Dialogus, slew him, consolidated into the Exorcist and the Seraphim, and then fought twice for yet another THREE Command Points, killing a couple of the Seraphim and putting a wound on the Exorcist. The Librarian charged the Purple Squad of Engineers and killed one with his staff. The brave Sisters fought valiantly, striking harder than one would expect but the ancient war plate of the Librarian easily turned aside their ferocity. This left just the One member of yellow squad, teal squad and two of Purple squad left behind the pile of piping but next round would probably be bad for them. Purple Squad disengaged from the Librarian while Teal “Squad” and Yellow “Squad moved away and shot at the Primaris Marines approaching them, desperately holding my right side objective against all odds. The Imagifier tried to use become a Vessel of the Emperor once more, but FAILED on a re-rollable 2+. Le sigh. The Engaged Exorcist backed away to my left side objective. The Seraphim jumped back and healed one of their members using the power of Faith! The other two units leaper over the Power Generators and straight into the face of the enemy Warlord on the other side, firing glorious fusion Pistol death into his face at point blank times. 8 times their pistols spake truth and justice unto him and yet, he was unhurt. Wow. That was unfortunate. The Seraphim in a fit of bravery shot past the Warlord and into the IG Company Commander, killing him in an unlikely but welcome flurry of blows; while the other Seraphim lost one of their number charging into the Hellblasters, to shut down their shooting and wrapped the Predator into them. They took ever more wounds for their bravery. Still they held and hugged. Red Squad left the left objective and shot the Primaris Marines on the Exorcists doorsteps, and Green Squad fell back to join them in the fusillade with the surviving Seraphim. The weight of meltas and bolters alone was not enough and so Ct. Celestine descended upon them and her Faith invigorated her enough to fight twice! He interrupted her after her first swings to fight with the Hellblasters but it was for nought, as her blade single-handedly killed 6 Primaris Marines when the dust had settled. The Exorcists finally came alive and even though there were only two of them able to fire, they slew the Primaris Marines that were far to the right, THE CULPRITS OF OUR MISSIONARIES DEMISE. Finally, the real firepower of the behemoths was made manifest. 4 The Imperial Fist leader would kill the Seraphim who attacked the company Commander, and the Hellblasters surely would kill the Seraphim engaging them if they didn’t fall back. The Imperial Fists were devastated. Their leader had shown his mettle but the only units left to command were his Devastators, and Hellblasters+Predator who would have to fall back or finish the Seraphim; and a ten or so IG plus their mortar team. The Sisters of Battle had turned the corner of the Power Generators and were in firm control of three of the four objectives. It was simply a matter of time before the walls closed in completely and so the Warlord ordered the retreat before their doom could be completely sealed. The score was approximately 34-12, Sisters of Battle victory.
  20. Yeah I mean... its work, but that would be a solution for sure. People are quick to be critical, slow to be thankful and slower still to run events instead of play in them. But T.O.'s make the world go round and if its even within a reasonable distance, I'd help promote it. I don't mind comp restrictions.
  21. Battalions are the old Force Org, basically. However, splitting up your forces into more Battalions gives you added Command Points. Same force org, just up to three of them. And...if you don't have enough for an ENTIRE batallion, you can use some of the other Detachments instead. They just dont reward you as heavily for doing it with command points. And that's pretty much all there IS to know. One added factoid: since you can only take 3 of any one unit, it does encourage people to use the Batallions as much as possible. Brigades are for people who really wanna go all out on variety. The Ambassadorial Grand Tournament is about the best option for people who want less craziness in their 40K. The missions are specifically designed to encourage unit variety and put less emphasis on the craziness of list building. However given how nigh impossible it is for some armies like Grey Knights and Imperial KNights to make a Brigade (an army with 3 HQ's, 6 troops and a MINIMUM of 3 of every other slot) which would be very "old school" 40K, making a Brigade a requirement, as I would love to have done, doesn't really work. But in that GT, we do require a Battalion. My encouragement would be to consider that once the list is made, its not like you have to keep obsessing over it right? So make one that works and get help on it. Once it's done all there is to worry about is playing. Early on there were a few tournaments that were termed "OldHammer events" and those were fun.
  22. We are just 24 days away from this momentous event and so if you know someone who would like to attend and support the event or participate in the silent auction let me know. We also have a couple of needs I am putting out there: First off, we will need a ringer who can show up to fill gaps if someone drops. This is a selfless person who might be willing to help me run the event unless called upon to play in it. The pay isn't great but it's for a good cause. The second is that we have a pretty funny plan for Nathan Fluger to participate if he is able and so i will need a special helper for that as well. =PObviously these would be people not registered for the event. Feel free to respond below if you want to make yourself available for these special tasks and we'll expect you at the event ready to play! If a spot opens up, of course we will prefer people take that paid slot as its a fundraiser but the ringer would be our emergency player and tournament helper. Alrighty then. that's all I got for now.
  23. That isn't what I see, but different platforms probably see different things. Scroll down. As I said in the earlier post: "...that are listed in this tournaments section and/or on the Facebook page." So outside of peoples enthusiastic posts on FB, you will get all the details here as well. Facebook is just a more interactive way to be involved, but I am going to make every effort to keep you updated here FO SHO. No worries. Take a look at the original post for any deets. It will be updated with anything that's mission critical. Most important thing at the moment is to get the lists in by the 15th, and also to let me know if there is anything you wish to give for the silent auction so I can get you an address for that. We'd like to have pictures up as soon as possible so people can start deciding what they want to donate for them, if anything.
