  1. REQUEST: Who knows how to do emroidery? Network and find me someone if you can. I need a very fluffy monogram'd robe that reads "The Flug" or something similarly hilarious for the fund raiser. Please contact me immediately if you know someone who can do it. My sense of humor has an idea...
  2. If you sent a PM and it bounced, my apology. I've cleared out my messages.
  3. Monday, 10:51 AM I found out about this. As of Friday 1:11 PM we had the venue, the tournament set up, and 20 players registered. YUS. Spreading the word loud and strong will help us pack it all the way up in no time. GONNA BE A MADHOUSE! Thanks for the help in getting the word out. Some updates: we will be having a silent auction. Items are being donated for it from as far away as you can imagine. We will try to get Pics up BEFORE the event so you can peruse what we have and make those bids. So then it makes sense to mention this new feature of the event here, so that if you feel the want or need to contribute things to the silent auction, you can. To make this a success, we will need to make sure that whatever is contributed is in decent shape. While no donation will be turned down, I would ask that you consider that we do want people to walk away with cool stuff to encourage the bidding. bring your hearts with your checkbooks.

  5. Chase Congdon might be joining us. I gave him the email to get you his list.
  6. Never have i been coming in to Enfilade colder than this time. Man. i just love this game and really need to play it more. I did get someone to play a little 67 pointer last night to kick off some of my rust but it was evident that the rust struggle was real. Lol.
  7. On the subject of RESOURCES I think that some battle reports are easy to find online. A more succinct way to kind of learn it might be to get the advice from a master Space Marine player of which there must be one or two like you're doing. I will offer MY perspective as a frequent ENEMY of them, who never plays them. 1. Chapter Masters and Lieutenants seem like a must. I cannot see a list being better for not having one or both. They are protected by the rules from being shot and they empower an Imperial Fist ginline in a big way. 2. The Bolter Errata/FAWQ/Whatever you want to call it allows you to fire the bolt weapons twice if you don't move when you normally couldn't. This makes sturdy bolt weapon platforms really good. Bikers are the sturdiest Bolt weapon platform there is really for the points, and so the Bikers and to a much lesser extent, Primaris Marines fit the bill. Veterans on Bikes with Storm Shields are incredibly durable, and a Biker Apothecary (which i think you can do through the Index, but I'm not certain) makes for an excellent investment, given that. As an opponent I am never excited to see the 8 shots per bike, with a 2 wound, 3+ invul chassis from the Storm shield. Even when you kill a couple, the apothecary biker can get them right back up to fighting strength. They are faster than any unit you can take that is similar and it obviates the need for Drop pods. 3. On the melee side, the Veterans with Jumppacks and Thunderhammer+Storm Shields serve admirably. they are probably the most durable and dangerous choices, and they are fast also. But a Drop Pod will suffice in place of the Jump packs if that is more a stylistic thing that you love. Either way its hard to pack more melee hurt in than you can doing this. Even a small unit of them can be very skery. They aren't tough like Wulfen but they are still pretty good at their jobs. 4. Thunderfire Cannons don't see much use but they seem awfully good to me when I face them. They nerf the crazy speed of things like Genstealer Cult, Wulfen and a host of other things. I personally think these would be very important to Imperial Fists, because Imperial Fists are either showing up with Terminators or shooting a lot of Bolters, and making the enemy's CRAZY assault unit go slow buys time for both. Its also a way of nerfing enemy ranges. So for what it's worth, I think that it's underrated at its job. I've seen my units become unable to evade enemies because of that stupid cannon and I've been unable to assault because of it. Kind of a big deal (to me anyways). The model is pretty boss as well. I don't like seeing those cannons. Hehehe. Ive had people just hide them and then move them when it makes sense. It doesnt have to really kill anyone to do what it does so... That's what I got for you. Nothing else in the Space Marine Codex causes me great consternation. But those units are pretty troublesome.
  8. My terrain is Mediteranean and then I have essentially Ardennes type terain (snowy trees and snow drifts etc...)
  9. In 10 hours, we have registered 18 people. You guys are KILLING it. Share that event link until it hurts.

  11. REGISTRATION PAGE: https://www.bestcoastpairings.com/eventlanding/fj217b2f?embed=false Facebook page for regular updates and discussion: https://www.facebook.com/events/667885086982742/ One of our own has fallen prey to the depredations of cancer and we intend to annihilate the invader. Nathan Fluger has opened his home to many of us for games and tournaments, and has been a long time ork player, now facing Spinal cancer. Your mission is to lighten that burden for he and his family while celebrating the game he and we love. All money raised goes directly to Nathan Fluger and his family. The Game Matrix, whose owner also is in this same battle, has graciously opened it to be used for the event. THE RULEZ: WHO: You and any enemy of cancer you know. Spread the word far and wide. This is different. This is one of us. Forge World rules will be allowed, but the Forge World Beta rules will not. Make CERTAIN you have printed easy to read copies of your list for your opponent and please submit your list by June 15th on the Bestcoast Pairings player app on your phone. WHAT: ITC event. 2,000 point Battleforged armies. NO Paint requirements for this event. Lists need to be uploaded to the BestcoastPairings app by Friday June 15th. $25 entry, and it is all going to Nathan and family. Opportunities for additional donations will be available as well. Chess clocks will be enforced for tables who use them. If one player wishes to use the clock then you must agree and be bound by the clock rules. Familiarize yourself with the rules. WHERE: The Game Matrix in Tacoma. PARK BEHIND THE BUILDING PLEASE 8610 S Tacoma Way, Lakewood, WA 98499 WHEN: 3 rounds, 3 Hours each. All day June 29th 2019. We will try to arrange an extended mealtime for everyone and if it's possible, we will ask Nathan to join us for it! WHY: Because you can. Sometimes the only reason you need to be helpful is because you can be. Let's remember that 1 in 3 of us will get cancer. Paying it forward is a thing. OTHER STUFF: We are planning a silent auction. if you would like, you can send the items you wish to donate to my office (I'll provide the address to those interested) and I will take pics and post them so that people can start thinking about it and deciding what to donate for them. This will be another great way to raise the money we want to raise. Your help is appreciated. You can PM me here or email me at Jancoran@hotmail.com SILENT AUCTION RULES: Here are the auction rules: Bids should be sent to Jaclyn McCoy through PM on Facebook, not on the items themselves. All items have a number on them identifying their lot number. Pay close attention to that number when you bid. Don’t get it wrong! You can bid multiple times for the same item. When you bid, you bid by specifying the item number and amount like this: “$13 for 16”. This means you are committing $13 for the item we have marked as #16. Keeping it simple like this will make Jaclyns job much easier. You can only bid in whole dollars. For example, you could bid $11, but not $11.03. If you win one, congratulations! Cash must be received by the day of the tournament and you must pick your item up at the Game Matrix event on June 29th, or elect someone to do it for you. If someone else is picking it up for you, you need to let us know. Once you have bid, you are committing that money to Flugers family, so keep in mind that if the top bidder does not show up, you may still win the bid. Top bids will be updated periodically, to give you the chance to bid again, so keep an eye on it. Final bids will be taken at 5PM June 28th, to give us time to prepare everything to be delivered to its new homes and ALSO give us breathing room to do the tournament prep we need to do!

  13. This is happening June 29. Date is confirmed with the Game Matrix. Deets to follow
  14. The Game Matrix, whose owner is also suffering from cancer, agreed to let us use his place. Same place we have the Ambassadorial Grand Tournament.
  15. Update: venue is secured. next step is to check in with other events and make sure we get a date that works. Anyone wanna spit ball some cool names for this event?
  16. I took Sisters of Battle to a tournament in Renton. Had to go about an hour to get there but that's cool. No biggee. I went second in every match. I voluntarily went second in game 3. Celestine stood with her army all of the time it took the enemy to shoot me round 1, and then she was off and running. No castling with her, I stuck her out there to scope me points. In round one it was Adeptus Mechanicus. Quite the striking army. It had a Knight of course and the big unit of strider walker things, and Duncrawlers, all with some form of accuracy coolness. Damn DuneCrawlers are quite tough. He deployed first and went first. I counter deployed very well I thought, and once the hugs were in full effect, and his shooting shut down we moved in ofr the kill. I never killed that Knight but I did wipe out most of the army and had board control. 36-11 victory. IN the second round I played against Astra Militarum with the buffed out Bullgryns, the usual Mortar spam, Vigilus Artillery Detachment, Straken, Priest and so on. It was unusual in that it didn't have a Knight in it, but did have a really mean pair of command tanks, one of which plagued me for a good part of the game with its punishers wailing away on me. His smash Captains were nigh unkillable. I tried but they just tied me up something fierce. However, between the Seraphim dropping in and really wreaking havoc in the backfield, and the absolutely frightening Arco-Flagellents who powned everything they touched, I have to say, it was a pretty fun game that felt grindy at first, but we prevailed 36-17 or something close to that. Third game was against Space Wolves. The Wulfen and Thundercavalry were real. Herald Deathwolf and the Wulfen appeared on my right, the other wulfen to my left and the Thundercavalry up the middle with Bloodclaws in hot pursuit. There was no escaping the encirclement forever, but I did a LOT of advancing away from the Wulfen on one side while trying to beat them up on the other and boy do those guys take it like champs. The Blood Claws were equally effective, smashing into me where they could and rending me to pieces with their highly accurate and numerous attacks. Savage if not sturdy, but they held their own quite well. The Faithful 32 rained mortars on my head every round and had some truly fantastic efforts. She hit me with like 24 Mortars in one round once. Yeesh. Tough battle. I took it 24-21. Sisters of Battle took the tournament, 1st place.
  17. Wow, OK... That's pretty heavy. I'll run a fund raising tournament. Starting on that now.
