Pick out one or two of the diamonds on the speeders and paint over them in purple and add some troupe runes in white... That should help tie them to the other models without totally making them uniform.

I was gonna say something like this. And/or add some really over the top highlights to them. The diamonds just look too plain and flat as they are. I think kicking them up a notch will really help the overall effect on the Bikes/Vehicles.

  2. The Old Guard: Loved it. Great action, cool characters, cool concept. At this point, I'm down for basically anything where Charlize Theron gets to be a total badass.

The Haunting of Emily, aka Delirium: The best thing about this movie is that the actress who plays Emily is named Taylor Pigeon.

As a Blood Angel player, I am loving what I've seen so far.  Strategic reserve aggressors.....yup.

I have already been using 2 Impulsors and limited targets on the table.

My characters were either near units or left to 'fend' for themselves against the enemy.  I hardly ever let Mepgiston or my support Chappy run off on their own.

I'm really looking forward to the Chappy ob bike and the bike unit to help apply pressure with my double intercessor squad in Impulsors.

I'm not making any conclusions about list building until I have the rules.  What I will say is that I have 3 dreadnoughts ready to see play again.  Not having the -1 makes those assault cannons awesome.

It wasn't really a comment on BA as such, so much as joking about the fact that theirs is the only Faction Focus so far that hasn't been credited to someone specific, and was seemingly put together by the WHC team or something

As a marine player, I can tell you all about how busted PL is. Maybe it will work better with the battle roster thingy, but I know that in a straight up game, the differences in what you can get for PL vs. points is very, very stark. It removes the consideration of opportunity cost from list building. Perfect example, take a tactical squad. A basic 10 man tac squad with bolters is 7 PL and 120 points. Now, let's add some upgrades. We won't go too nutty, let's say we give the sarge a plasma pistol and power sword, and then add a plasma gun and a missile launcher. Not too out of hand at all, right? In matched play, that brings the cost up to 151 points from 120. But it's still 7 PL for an objectively better unit. That extra 31 points in matched play is something you have to add up and consider. In narrative using power level, you don't. For some armies where most of their stuff doesn't have a lot of upgrade options, it's fine, but when you throw in factions like Marines or Guard or even Orks where there are a million ways to tinker with your units, it becomes pretty unbalanced very quickly.

Yeah, the way it affects different Factions differently is a big part of why it has issues. Wolf Guard Terminators are a prime example, ranging from 163 to 305 points for a Squad of 5, but they're PL13 either way. 12.5-23.5 Points per PL is a massive swing.

I would note, tho, that for people who are relatively new to the game, who are just building Units with the options in the box rather than seeking out specific bits to equip everyone with the best options, it works a lot better. Further, it works much better for newer Units, which tend to have far fewer options than those from 5th ed or earlier. A Squad of 5 Intercessors, by comparison, varies in cost only from 85 to 100 points, so PL5 is a pretty reasonable approximation (17-20 Points per PL), regardless of loadout. As time goes by, and more and more of the older Units are discontinued, Power Level will probably become more and more usable.

  5. Harley Quinn, seasons 1 and 2: I really loved this. Basically the Venture Bros. meets Batman: The Animated Series. In some ways, it seems like a small thing, but it feels so much more right when the villains can actually swear properly and kill people. And talk about sex, for that matter*. Some cool plots, strong arcs in each season, and actual character development. Great cast, too, with Ivy, King Shark, Bane, and Clayface as the major standouts for me. Alan Tudyk actually holds his own in the inevitable comparison with Mark Hamill's Joker, which is impressive. My only real issue is, basically, that it ended where I wanted it to start. Or in other words, I really hope we get a couple more seasons.

*Nothing explicit, but it's just that they can, for instance, actually say outright that Ivy and Kite Man are having sex, rather than just referring to it obliquely with the fact that they're dating.

  6. Winchester: Actually pretty solid. There's some pretty good tension in the earlier parts of the film, and it's visually amazing, plus there's some great casting. It does start falling apart a bit in the third act, But overall, it was solid, despite all the horrible reviews it got.

-No stacking negatives is every bit as bad for Drukhari as I thought it would be. When suppressors deep strike in with their heavy weapons, why not fire at the aircraft? They're negative -1 to hit, so there's no penalty for moving and firing heavy weapons at them. Very counterintuitive. Limiting my ability to stack modifiers makes sense, eliminating consequences for moving heavy weapons or moving and advancing assault weapons doesn't.

I remember this being an issue with the Snap Shot rules in 6th and 7th as well. Invisible Airplane? Might as well move my Havocs to a better position while shooting it, it's not going to make things any worse.

I'm trying to figure out how I would word it to make it so that it's at most a +/-1 from each side, so if the target had a -1 and the shooter had a -1, it would go to -2, but you couldn't get there just by stacking defensive buffs.
