  1. I'll be there, but mainly to get my Scythes from BigTal, and bring Bryan his Trukks, oh and pick up Jay's Clix...

Not bringing games, parents in town so I'll leave after those are done...maybe a boardgame prior if anyone wanted to.

  2. I'll be there (have a trade with Bryan). Torn on bringing 40k or a board game (maybe Lords of Waterdeep or Ticket to Ride so Raze can see it)...I'll bring both, Blu wanna play 40k and then waterdeep when Bryan gets there later? Or something like that...I could be there 4pm, maybe 430.   1k, right? My 7th edition skills are weak, so you may need to guide me or punch me in the gut when I'm cheating...

  3. My nephew was trying to talk me into HeroClix. I know nothing about it, and would love to know some opinions.

First: I'd be getting it for both nephews, my son, and likely myself, so we could play as needed.

    - Is this game easy enough for a 6 year old? He plays X-wing ok....

    - If I just buy 4 starter packs, is that enough? What else MUST I have. Kind of looking to keep this cheap.

    - I noticed all sorts of weird packs ranging from DC and Marvel, to movie sets, etc. They are all meant to play against each other and fully interchangeable? Like there's no one who looks down on me if I bring Lord of the Rings teams to a DC match, or what about mixing teams up?

Lastly, is it any good? What other alternatives would you recommend if Heroclix sucks?

  4. I am finding Small World to be kind of boring. Ticket to Ride requires special rules for 2 players (such as double paths become only ONE, etc). But I agree, Ticket to Ride and Catan shine at 4 players (TTR, can do 5).

  5. So this is the FREEBIE for Xbox live this month. I started playing it, and starting to hate it badly! I 'want' to like a challenge, but the Sword/Board starting cycle is just destroying me. I've moved past the first intro boss, and about 2 campfires past the start. But I find myself just wanting to kill lots of guys close by, go back get more souls, level up, repeat. Is farming souls part of the mechanic? I'm finding melee to be destroying and such. I think I'm getting 1/2 of it, but something is eluding me.

Is there a good build I should be going for, anything that seems a little overpowered (I heard ranged was almost exploitable), etc.

  6. Yarb, I don't feel any of the books were a let down. A book to me was never a marathon but casual reading. That said, I had no issues with any of Jordan's books. The story he created is so AWESOME I wouldn't care if a 5th grader wrote it. The sheer amount of side stories all being tracked at once is staggering, and it all comes together towards the end.

When I see someone tell me they got bored in the middle, sounds like to me they were in a marathon rather than casual. All stories do it, the middle did just fine in my opinion.

That said, I ALWAYS had difficulty putting the wheel of time books down...just one more page, chapter, etc

  7. Don't forget Xbox one owners, you get FREE games some time in June coming up.

Xbox 360 owners get 3 games this June too!!!

I'm going to try and figure out how to get the Xbox one licenses associated to my account, so when I do get an Xbox One eventually, I'll have those games...
