  1. Wulvennest is some rad psychedelic doom I just discovered. Very spacey but bleak at the same time Oldd Wvrms is atmospheric doomy sludge metal that's been marinating overnight in black metal. Boss Keloid is some good stonery stuff with some super sexy grooves I've posted Carach Angren a few times but this is some new stuff and is delightful as always. Alestorm is another regular in this thread but this is also new and one of the most singable songs in history. NSFW
  2. Well I was thinking people might have to find lodging anyways if they are coming from the Portland area. Hard to do 10+ hours of driving and 9 hours of tournament in 1 day. As far as Seattle or BC folks go then it isn't so far away that they can't head home after each day if they aren't interested in hotels or couch surfing. At any rate I can't really vote as my attendance will be decided by whether or not my KS stuff shows up by then.
  3. Would it not be better to do it as a 2 day event? I know it might be a bit hard to get people to travel for just the 1 day. 2 days it's a bit easier to justify making the trip from Portland and other distant places.
  4. You hadn't earned honor on the field of battle. Normal sized bananas are for foes that have proven themselves. Until that's happened its tiny bananas.
  5. One thing was brought to my attention. Everyone participating should bring a deck of playing cards in addition to their tape and d10s. The cards are used for post came exploration. Once you use a card in the post game sequence you are supposed to set it aside so that you don't draw it again for the rest of the campaign unless its an extremely long campaign.
  6. 1. Prizes were fine. Obviously everyone loves stuff but as others have said it really isn't a big deal. We split an outrage box so I was happy. 2. I didn't see any overpowered spec ops but I would like to see a bit of a smaller penalty for dying. I hid my spec ops most of the time as I was afraid of losing the small gains I'd made with him. 1b. Scenarios were mostly fine. I do agree with people about the biotechvore and final scenarios though. Having remotes be unaffected by the fog didn't matter in my game but it could be brutal in others. The final mission it definitely felt like I was punished for going first. It was only 5 zombies but I was at the end of my turn and had to deal with them rather than my opponent which definitely hurt. If there are going to be special events in the scenarios then I would prefer it to impact both players equally. 2b. They were totally fine. 3b. I would prefer to see the points go to 300. If you are worried about time then you could still make it limited insertion. At 300pts this allows people to bring cool centerpiece models like tags or fun heavy infantry. It gives more options for fun and interesting lists and the centerpiece models go towards the cool hobby emphasis that the OFCC is all about. I also would definitely like to see some better table set ups next year. There was one table in particular that I played on that looked great but wasn't the most functional. I felt sorry for the open ground Jay had to slog through under tons of my AROs. I would also like to have people vote on favorite tables next year just as we do on favorite armies. Also a bit more communication next year as far as whether or not the objective room will be infinitely high throughout the event. Our table was designed under the assumption that it was. I think specialists should be more important as well. I really like the vibe of infinity where you have your bruisers move up and hate on your enemies and lay down suppressing fire while the skillful specialized troopers follow behind to accomplish vital objectives. This doesn't need to be in every scenario but having everyone able to do anything felt like it took a bit away from the infinity vibe. I would like to see the addition of a best general as an awards category. I like giving a nod to the best players and feel it doesn't turn it into too much of a competitive event. I've been to 40k and fantasy OFCCs where there is a best general prize and I've only had great and fun games. This list of criticisms may seem like I didn't enjoy myself but I really had a great time. If nothing changes I will still be back next year and loving every second of it, even when Scarface kills all my dudes by turn 2. Thanks for the great event everyone!
  7. And if someone wants to borrow my unpainted peace keepers or caravaners they are welcome to them.
  8. https://www.spectreminiatures.com/collections http://madpuppetminiatures.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=61 http://www.hfminis.co.uk/shop http://www.badrollgames.com/en/ http://www.cpmodelsminiatures.co.uk/index.htm http://newstore.pulp-city.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=59&page=7 http://worldsendpublishing.com These are some of the places I really liked. Supporting worlds end for making the game could be cool. Also they have nice law men type miniatures. That said you should go with whatever you want. Find a theme and run with it. My peacekeepers are going to be converted models from the capital faction in war zone resurrection. But someone else's could easily be a bunch of old school sheriff and cowboy models or some zealous military wing of a theocracy. My peacekeepers will be theme wise kind of fascist bad guys but others could be the heroes of the people. Its all what you're feeling. Develop your war bands story and go from there.
  9. I don't think they are in any faq. I just saw Joey the creator of TNT post on the facebook group a couple months ago. It's a change he is planning on including in his upcoming expansion but wanted to release early to make the short range weapons worth a damn.
  10. Depends on what people are feeling. Maybe 2 weeks from now? You guys want later?
  11. Yes to the 400bs. The creator did release a couple rules early on fb. Normally a weapon with the burst rule requires that you spend all actions on shooting to then gain an additional free shot. So a model with an assault rifle can fire 3 times if he doesn't move or do anything but fire. The change was to smgs and machine pistols. Now with their special version of burst you can move and fire twice. Other weapons with burst still require you to remain stationary.
  12. If anyone else would like a demo I would be happy to have 2 newbies play each other
  13. Aight. I will make a couple demo lists
  14. Urrybody hatin' on infinity? I can bring some Destiny too I suppose. Also I could totally demo the game if people are interested.
  15. So a few of us are looking at doing a short campaign for this game in the near future to really test the system. I was thinking along the lines of maybe 4 weeks with just regular book scenarios. For those that don't know what the game is it is a small scale skirmish campaign game. It has elements from games such as Necromunda or Mordheim in that your characters gain experience and skills but can also permanently die. You also search the wastes after each battle to find better gear and gain wealth. The game is set in a nuclear post apocalypse very reminiscent of the fallout video games. The war bands are peace keepers (police or military), caravaners (heavily armed travelling merchants), raiders (self explanatory), tribals (humans that have reverted to primitive ways), preservers (basically the brotherhood of steel), mutants (also self explanatory) and mutant cannibals (think the hills have eyes) If anyone is interested in the campaign and checking out the rules then please let me know and one of us can hook you up.
  16. I think the header is for the PDX guys only. I know I just played a ton of infinity this weekend but I would like to have another go tomorrow. I would prefer 300pts as I've been playing 200 for a couple months.
  17. I'm a huge fan of Mk12s. It's close to as good as an HMG but for no SWC. The obvious difference is the -1 burst and the shorter range bands. But while the Mk12 loses out on 8" of long range +3 it gains +3 at short range over the HMG. This allows you to advance and keep up the pressure even in relatively close confines whereas the HMG loses out in a close range slug fest. I've done huge amounts of damage with Kornak and even the humble Mk12 Kurgat. I'm also a big fan of HRLs as flaming blasts are sexy.
  18. I could probably use a game of Infinity before the OFCC but I will also have my Destiny with me.
  19. I will bring Infinity and Destiny.
  20. Nah people here tried it and found it to be not exactly what they were looking for. Lots of 9th age here though. Also we miss you too
  21. I have a decent amount of Japanese models. The game is great but I doubt you'll find anybody here other than me who plays it. The Mugu guys are great though.
  22. Need some Infinitaaayyy. Need to fully iron out my OFCC list. Probably have my bad destiny deck too
  23. I might be down a bit later to chill and maybe play a round or 2 of Destiny
