Quick Rampage review!
This year MO got updated just a few days before the Rampage, and I felt it would be a crime not to take them. At 200 they feel a little constricted (very few cheap orders, no cheap LT options), but I cranked out an effective list and a fun BS list.

The TAG list was just because I can, but also a threat like that is scary at low points. The second list is more rounded out and shows off the versatility of the new link options in MO. Overall I was happy with how both preformed, even though I got slapped silly in a couple of games.
Game one I played against Nick and his Haqq.
Highlights!
-Seraph cut his way across the field in turn one, killing many and leaving Nick in LOL on turn one
-In his turn he converted a few orders to regular and took the TAG down, as I cannot make armor saves on anything other than order sergeants
-I move everyone up and out of the way of a Fiday, as he will make my cheap order monkeys dead very easily
-TO Serg does some work, then hides himself away in a building
-Joan can't kill something...so we all get into buildings
-We try for a few checklist items and the game ends.
A win for the Military Orders! Nick played a great game, but starting your first turn several models down and in LoL is hard to come back from. Still, he killed the TAG, and sometimes that is all that matters.
Game two I was up against Erik G. and his Steel Phallus...or whatever they are called.
Highlights!
-I was nervous about getting beat-sticked as Erik got first turn with a very aggressive and punchy list
-My AROs turned into magic bullets, as I took out Ajax and roughly half his army in his own first turn
-We both moved to grab a few objectives and hold them. Can't forget the scenario!
-I failed to isolate one of his bots 3-4 times, so I gave up trying and instead focused on tabling him and getting checklist points
Another win for Military Orders! Erik should have walked over me turn one, but the dice gods decide that Ajax, along with the rest of the AI abominations, needed to die.
Game three was against Steven and his TAK
Highlights!
-I deploy to ARO lay rockets on his link team, forgetting that he has smoke and can just hide them all (Pano problems)
-His Vet Kazak rips some [big bad swear word] and takes my ARO pieces down, I manage to put a wound on him but it is healed later
-He grabs some objectives and sets up defensively
-I try to make a push up the right flank, killing a handful of models on my way
-Luck goes south, I move poorly, my guys are all either killed in ARO or left exposed
-I end up getting tabled with no objectives to my name, but getting whooped so bad allowed me to pick up a lot of bad-luck checks off of my list
A major loss for Military Orders! If I had remembered what smoke was I would have not deployed such an aggressive ARO team, as they simply can't stand up to the power of a b5 AP HMG Vet Kazak. Still, he played a great game and absolutely deserved the win. 10/10 would lose again.
Game four was against John (Jon?) and his JSA
Highlights!
-His heavy shotgun murder bot had a path across the board and almost fried my link team
-Luckily I double crit him with E/M grenades, putting an end to his rampage after losing just one model
-He moved up and got into solid defensive positions
-My Bulleteer and Santiago took out a good amount of models, everyone moved up to not get bio-tech type damage
-He pressed up his link and allowed the Domaru to get right in my business
-I failed to kill or even hurt the domaru, getting my hacker and LT isolated/immobilized in the process (WHAT?! 😄)
A major loss for Military orders! We both had a weird mix of luck and tragedy in this game, but Jon came out on top with his aggressive play style and grenade ninja Domaru. If anyone should take anything away from this game, it's that the game is more fun when everyone throws E/M grenades at each other.
In the end I scored enough between battle scores and checklist to tie for best general with Erik G., beating him on a short round of tie-breaking trivia. After losing two games I didn't even think I'd be in the running, but filling up that checklist really makes a difference!
Thank you so much to my four opponents, Eric, and everyone who showed up to make this event happen.
