Tried something a little different this time. I did a magic wash (50/50 Future floor polish and Vallejo Oiled grime) all over the buggies, but it didn't pool the way I wanted. So I washed right over with a little black mixed and while it worked, it tinted the whole model and killed off some of the overall contrast. So I went back to a known technique, I airbrushed straight thinner on the model and used the airbrush to powerwash out from the centers of panel, pushing the relatively thick magic wash to the edges, thus preserving the contrast I put down with my base tone layer. I figure a 2-1 wash/future mix is about right for the initial wash, then airbrush soon after, so the floor wax has a little time to gel. I'll see if I can refine it and make it more repeatable. Now I wouldn't do this on anything "clean"; Marines, Tau, Eldar, etc wouldn't look right.

Is it possible to adjust the "Up" reference on the analog sticks on the Dualshock 4? The way I hold the controller I would like to adjust the left analog stick so the "up" from compass North to compass NorthEast.

I'm in. Damn near impossible to get to Tuesday nights right now. I'd be looking for WoW meetups on Sundays, DAG on Monday nights, and open Wednesdays-Thursday evenings as long as you can host. Oh and Paid.

That's the GW technical paint over sand texture. I slop it on really heavy then drybrush it with a color. The normally distainful spiderwebbing you get from drybrushing works well here. Then the airbrushed pigment is the final touch. I won't do that much work on a boyz mob, but on the characters I will.

Warboss is painted! I really like applying pigment with the the airbrush for weathering:

IA 7 (?) Raid On Kastorel Novem has rules for Kustom Battle Fortresses. Just a big transport, lots of secondary weapons, Deffrolla, and a Mega Cannon. Alone I figure it's a 5 month project, but with the rest of the painting I need to do it has to take a back seat...for now...

5 bikes and 3 buggies. That's what I have built anyhow. I figure this is a nice sampling of a themed list with no duplications except for the trukk boys. Then I can easily add on to the list one unit at a time and have the basics covered. I really wanted to take a LoW Braincrusha Battlefortress, but I really wont have the time.

In an effort to promote community encouragement and timeline shaming I shall commence with my list prep and painting log. 1 CAD, no formations. I want a super simple list with as few special rules as possible. Need to think about a display board too. Can it be meaner? Yes. But this is OFCC.

Why do I keep this thread alive? Cause it's like therapy, only cheaper and I give a [big bad swear word] at the response I get! Things are moving along, and barring some budgetary constraints I'm happier than I thought I'd be. Hopefully I can get some projects posted (poor excuses being GTA and World of Tanks, good excuses being time with kids and a great girlfriend). Now that I'm committed to OFCC it should be good motivation to avoid some paint shaming!
