Great game last night, even if I got trounced. William needed that win after last weeks game, hes back on track. Im torn about the [big bad swear word]ty cleric I bought, I rolled the worst spells, though he has two wounds (which I forgot last night), so I may keep him. Still, 15 a game upkeep is painful. My youngblood now has quick shot, so two crossbow shots a round, though still at bs3. And my halberd champ causes fear now, which is cool. My warband leader has to miss next game. Rhuntar, what happened to the guy who took d6 wounds? Im looking forward to next week!

Hi, welcome! Whats your nearby gamestore? Sundays at 4 we meet at WOW off SE 12 and Main. I live up by Red Castle and love playing there, they have a great setup with lots of tables. Id be in to a game on a weeknight as well.

Heres my warband. Ill note where any level ups or anything. Captain with sword Champion with 2-hand weap and xbow Leveled up with +1 WS Champion with halberd and xbow Youngblood w/xbow Youngblood w/xbow 2 duellists w/sword and pistol 2 marksmen with longbows With leftover money, exploration, and selling four wyrdstone Ive ended up with 77 gold. I think I will hire a cleric for 55 and buy some climbing hooks and or a couple extra daggers for the youngbloods. I may pass the crossbow from one of the champs off to the captain, not sure.

So Im at work but spending a lot of time looking over rules and stuff. I messed up in two areas: It says rerolls may be used for battle and exploration, but nothing about injuries. Of course last nights rolls should stand, but how should we play this moving forward? I didnt realize that you can only get one exploration result. Youre supposed to take the highest result, apparently. For instance, if I rolled three 2's and two sixes, I would take the three 2's as its a better result. So last night I got two results, each giving me 1d6 gold. Im going to discard the gold from the lesser of the two events, the corpse I found. One more thing: henchmen can never go up in a skill twice. So a henchman starting with 3 WS can only ever get up to 4 WS. Maybe Rhuntar could verify these things, that Im getting this right?

Awesome game tonight! Will post more tomorrow on what Im gunna buy. Probably climbing hooks and pistols.

Id love to fight that beastman army again, that was a great battle, but would be glad to have a battle with anyone.

By the way, the roommie (William) and I are six games in on our eight game campaign and Im loving it. How did this game die out? I just built a few guys for a tilean warband which will play a lot differently than my gobs. A few things: We forget the extra rerolls from alignment every game. We forget to parry a lot. Hiding is a huge benefit and should not be neglected! We have been playing knockdown wrong for a while: if a model is knocked down, you only roll to wound, no to hit or injury rolls: a wounded model is out of action rght away Weve been doing one huge thing wrong for a while: if there is a henchman group with two henchmen, and that henchmen group has three experience, you add six to your warband rating, not just three. Whoops. Im sure some of you guys already knew this stuff, but I thought Id put them here because William and I forget this stuff.

Does anyone have an interpretation on the pike rules? I think Ill run a Tilean warband and I may want to run pikes. The rules entry lists them as being 12 points, but the rules are nearly the same as a spear which is ten, the only difference being it says "close combat 3" rather than "close combat." I think this means a pikeman can attack from three inches away and so not receive a counter attack? The downside being it is a two handed weapon, and perhaps we could say it cant be used when in base to base? Then the pikeman would have to switch to a dagger or something. Maybe a pikeman could use it to receive a charge and get first attack (just like a spear), but after that round hed have to switch. What do you guys think?

Whoa, checked the alignment stuff in the manual: lawful and chaotic warbands get d3 rerolls during a battle or during exploration. Lawful/neutral and neutral/chaotic get one reroll, while neutral get nothing but can hire anyone. Not sure if anyone else noticed this stuff, I just glossed over the alignment stuff.

Was a lot of fun, really glad its starting up!

Im doing forest goblins, though ive been looking at some of the Perry Miniatures range and there are some great models for a Tilean or Reiklander warband. Maybe if eres a future Mordheim Ill try that out.

I still need to tweak my list a bit, but 13-14 I think - im debating on a gigantic spider for 200 points. Its a beast, but that would mean I can only take a few goblins and that feels wrong.

One more question: there is mention of henchman groups and how they must be equipped all the same. I want to buy 8 forest goblin henchmen-can I make this two groups with two different loadouts? Also, if anyone is around this weekend and would like to get a trial game in, id love to - the gf is working all weekend so its one of those rare, wide open weekends. I like red castle - they have tons of good terrain for mordheim, but guardian would work too. PM me if interested.
