  1. Never heard of vassel! Is that worth using? Is too much lost?
  2. ...settle for methadone? Has anyone tried universal battles? The website that lets you play Warhammer online? It looks promising. Sometimes during the week I wish I could just go somewhere and get a game. With this, it seems like that's something of a reality, though I don't know if there are enough players to make it that dependable yet. And I don't think it could compare with playing it in person... I don't believe it could compete with or hamper the real thing. Maybe I'm wrong? I havent even tried it though, maybe the interface is terrible. And maybe I shouldn't mess with something that could eat up that kind of time.
  3. Forgive me if someone already linked to this, but this youtube video by the sustainable center is a really thoughtful thing and is worth a view/listen while at the paint table: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=p0-zkO3sUC0 He makes some great points that really make this seem like a positive thing. Thinking about this new release schedule, I get kind of excited. Something for your army every year or half a year or who knows. That makes a lot of sense to me, it could really extend my infatuation with a faction. I find myself trying overlooked units every couple months. With a constant trickle of releases, your plastic addiction could be fed quicker. It also makes sense to balance the armies. If an army is lagging, give them something powerful and fun to reinvest those jilted beastmen/tomb kings players. I think NtK, Mexican Ninja, and others made these points already, but I think I wasnt in the right mind to consider them. I got a bit reactionary!
  4. Can't wait! 2400 of hopefully more painted wood elves.
  5. Jeez, this is like hearing that your parents are divorcing.
  6. I had a great time tonight, thanks Jeremy for the game and Eric for hosting.
  7. I should be there with 2400 points and a small regiment of renown!
  8. Rudra, do you have the link for regiments of renown? I have a link, not sure if it's current.
  9. Hey guys sorry for the last minute cancel, but my cat's been throwing up and hiding, which is weird for him. I'm really worried about him, I'm going to stay home and try to get him to eat.
  10. 2400 yes! I think I'm going to bring an unusual WE list to try some things out.
  11. We doing games Sunday, 12/28? I could probably fit two games in, got lots of time off :)
  12. Salamanders are great. Stegadons are great. Bastiladons are pretty good. The slann makes the army past 1500 pts, and wins games. Put him in a temple guard bunker. A lot of people run skink clouds, which is many small units of skinks. Others will bring blocks of saurus, who are pretty good rank and file. One thing i fear is cowboys. That is a hero or lord mounted on cold one with all the fixins. Those guys are really scary.
  13. Ive seen a couple new players start, one stuck with it and one didnt. The one that gave up couldnt stand how badly he got beat in his first few games. You have to find a reason to love it beyond the gratification of thinking your strategy was superior. Youre going to get beat a lot at first, theres too much to learn to be good for a while. Part of that means it will take a few games before deployment makes sense. The whole hobby is a commitment. But its really, really great and worth it. 2) woodelves are a good army with a limited amount of options in list design. Surprisingly hard to paint, I think. 3) no
  14. Its beautiful! Glade riders with hagbane is so fun. I think trueflight is wasted on them, they can always shoot from short range.
  15. Yeah man, I'd love to! I could bring Goblins or Elves, depending on how hard you'd like to play. So you're talking about after this upcoming week? I'm off for two weeks so yeah, let's do it.
  16. 2.5 k sounds good to me, if it's happening!
  17. Id love to dust the goblins off for an all gobo list, if theres anything going on this week.
  18. The original Xcom from 1994 has always been my favorite game. I come back to it yearly. It's as perfect as a game can get. I got xenonauts a few weeks ago and think I've finally found a game to replace it! It's nearly exactly Xcom, but with a few minor additions: suppression fire, shotguns (and more weaponry in general), and expanded air combat system, more interceptors, more research, a harder to game economic system, and more. It's really worth your time if you like tactical turn-based games!
