Flash gitz with Badrukk. The fire they can put out is just great coupled with rerolls and cost.

The gitz at str 5 bs 4+ AP -2 and 3 shots is just crazy. 5 of them with 5 reroll runts is like 155 pts... so good.

Badrukk has 3 rerolls and a 3 shot plasma type weapon (fixed 2 damage on safe fixed 3 damage on dangerous mode)! The overheat does d3 mortals instead of slaying him outright.

Yeah, it really seems like Orks got a boost in the new edition. There is a new ork player at RC and it has been rough fighting against 90 boyz at a time.

  2. Hey al!

With the new edition out and about, I was wondering what has been the units that you have found putting in every battle because of how awesome they are now?

For me, it is the Centurion Devastators, followed closely by the Stormtalon Gunship.

With the new splitfire rules, the ability to move without taking the penalty to shooting, and the awesomeness of the omniscope now ignoring the effects of cover, I have been loving my mobile trio of shooty death.

As for the Stormtalon, now it just feels like a gunship; like something a Space Marine would call in for Close Air Support.

Damn it. Really shouldnt have bought the Index then and just waited for codex.

Also the indexes will have the rules for niche models (like the 30 year special edition marine) that won't be in the codex.

That's too bad, the world isn't owned by Apple. I have no wish to run multiple platforms beyond what I already "have to"

I am not saying that the world is owned by Apple. However, Apple has shown a willingness to go to bat on behalf of content creators who don't like their work being stolen. Google made the conscious choice the leave content creators (many of whom have less money than the app developers who sometimes rob them) on their own when it comes to protecting their work. That has consequences for the consumer. In this case, it means that the preferred digital distribution chain for GW is going to be Apple.

I am not an Apple fan boy. However, I do have friends who depend on ad revenue from their webcomics to put food on the table. And they have had their webcomics stolen via Android apps. And so, I will stand with content creators all day, every day.

IP Protections = " Intellectual property (IP) refers to creations of the intellect for which a monopoly is assigned to designated owners by law. ... Artistic works including music and literature, as well as discoveries, inventions, words, phrases, symbols, and designs can all be protected as intellectual property."

    Ah, very interesting...
Though aren't both ripe with spinoffs of other apps?

It has more to do with the lack of DRM on Android devices. I know that this has been a problem for many webcomic artists, who have their sites accessed by Android apps that bypass the ad stream of the comic creator in lieu of the ad stream for the app author. This thereby monetizes the webcomic on behalf of the app author rather than the webcomic artist. The artist is in effect robbed by the Android app.

Then there is just plain ol' piracy.

Since the Apple App store allows for more restrictions at the behest of the app authors, and is more aggressive about policing IP infringement on behalf of content creators, I would think GW would maintain the Apple iStore as their preferred digital distribution medium.

Please tell me you're going to come out with a Droid Codex and not force me to consider a iPiss for interactive codex

I don't think that is likely. The Apple marketplace offers better IP protections.

But I have been wrong before.

Blood Angel Assaults can no longer take 2 melta's.

The new FAQ has this entry which should make you happy.

Add the following before the final paragraph:

‘Models in Assault Squads that have the option for a

flamer may take a meltagun or plasma gun instead

(replacing their bolt pistol and chainsword).’

So, most of my 40k playing was in 3rd and 4th edition.  I only played a handful of games in 6th and none in 7th.  I have an Imperial Fists army that I have been building and have some questions.

    1.  Are Razorbacks more viable now?

    2.  How are the Primaris Marines working out?  That is a completely new unit.

    3.  What about Vindicators?  I used to love them but they seemed less useful in 7th.

    4.  Best unit to put in a Drop Pod?  I only have one.

    1. Vehicles of all varieties are more viable. They are a lot of fun now. My Stormtalon is my new favorite thing.

    2. I don't know yet.

    3. Tanks of all kinds are pretty awesome now.

    4. I don't know. I would imagine Sternguard are still a prime choice.

  9. TL;DNR: The simple answer to this question is to either go to where the tourney players are, or host tourneys so that they come to you.

    Longer version:

Well, that is a tough question. Right now you are approaching it from a standpoint of "How do I alter the play style of other gamers to suit my needs.". And honestly, I don't think this ever works out well.

Every player comes to this hobby for different reasons. Some like painting, some like the narrative, and some like competition.

It sounds like you enjoy the competition. So the best way to do this is to either:

    A) go to where the competitive players are. Which in Portland is GG.

    B) start hosting competitive events at your store so that competitive minded players show up.

But "making opponents stronger" is not the way to go about it. Because that mind set coerces people into spending time and money to give you a good game; not necessarily getting a good game for themselves. And this in turn leads people to leaving the hobby all together.
