  1. Slap an Advanced Targeting System on it, and as a nice side-effect of making all your guns better, the default mêlée attacks will improve as well. Three S 8 AP -1 D 1 attacks aren't great, but it should allow you to punch at least one Assault Marine to death before you Fall Back. A Shield Generator will give is a 4++, which combined with its T7, makes those 20 Wounds last a good while. A Velocity Tracker seems like an obvious third choice, given the sheer number of things that have the Fly keyword these days.
  2. Perfidious Ældari! Spoiling your joyous Sanguinalia rite of opening your gifts and discovering their contents for yourself.
  3. During the pre-production of the original trilogy, although it became the most explicit during Return of the Jedi. George Lucas is on record waxing poetic about how the Ewoks were modeled after the Việt Cộng, the Rebellion were modeled on Southeast Asian and Sub-Saharan African post-colonial guerrillas generally, and the Empire was an amalgamation of American and British militarism. Gotta love the irony of a man with deep communist sympathies making himself a gajillionaire through building the most successful merchandising juggernaut in history.

Guardian Games has a pretty good selection of Spellcrow blisters in store. So they must have a US distributor and can probably special order any of their bits for you, which should avoid the shipping costs...

$35 USD seems to be the going price for any blister packed single figure these days...
  8. I like the open cockpit (I'm a sucker for that design feature ever since I read Patlabor as a kid) and the over-the-shoulder Big Fukken Gun (you can blame Gundam for that). But the missile launchers in lieu of arms thing is just daft... Not only is the humanoid shape more aesthetically pleasing and a better match to all the other Tau designs, the Stormsure has no way to adjust their aim horizontally except for rotating at the waste. At least give it some stubby little T-Rex arms like Battletech's Mad Cat/Timber Wolf!

    Tau...

    That is a major improvement!
  10. Seems like a slightly pricier, but far more durable, substitute for the Riptide.
  11. If the list is legally built according to the rules of the game, then I don’t care what you bring.
  12. Sorry, I usually do... I just tend to forget that British sitcoms satirizing the political process from four decades ago aren’t part of the common catchphrases in use in modern America. Shame, really. But, anyway, it comes from Yes, Prime Minister. Highly recommended. (I’d also have thought that there not being and never having been any such country as “East Yemen” would have been a give away.)
  13. Quoting a thirty-eight year old sitcom doesn’t strike me as “RoC content.”

  17. Simple Ranged Weapons Cost Damage Weight Properties Blood Bowl Ball 5 sp 1d4 piercing 1 lb. Catch!, Finesse, Light, Thrown (range 20/60) Catch!: The target of an attack from a Blood Bowl Ball may make a DC 15 Strength (Athletics) check to catch the ball. A successful catch halves the damage inflicted, to a minimum of 1 HP. Finesse: When making an attack with a finesse weapon, you use your choice of your Strength or Dexterity modifier for the attack and damage rolls. You must use the same modifier for both rolls. Light: A light weapon is small and easy to handle, making it ideal for use when fighting with two weapons. Thrown: If a weapon has the thrown property, you can throw the weapon to make a ranged attack. If the weapon is a melee weapon, you use the same ability modifier for that attack roll and damage roll that you would use for a melee attack with the weapon. Therefore, when you throw a Blood Bowl Ball, you can use either your Strength or your Dexterity, since the ball has the finesse property. Medium Armor Cost Armor Class (AC) Strength Stealth Weight Standard Blood Bowl Armor 25 gp 12 + Dex modifier (Max 2) -- -- 15 lb. Standard Blood Bowl Armor: Essentially, a modified suit of armor that consists of a fitted metal breastplate worn with supple leather. Although it leaves the legs and arms relatively unprotected, this gear provides good protection for the wearer's vital organs while leaving the wearer relatively unencumbered. Not every team wears this type of armor and their are no rules requiring its use, many Elf and Amazon teams forgo the use of armor entirely and both the Norse and Bretonnians are known to play in full plate! Equipment Packs The starting equipment you get from your class includes a collection of useful adventuring gear, put together in a pack. In a Blood Bowl RPG campaign, every character may substitute one of their class's pack choices with an Athlete's Pack. If you are buying your starting equipment, you can purchase a pack for the price shown, which might be cheaper than buying the items individually. Athlete's Pack (10 gp): Includes a backpack, a healer's kit, a bedroll, two sets of common clothes (uniforms), a signal whistle, a mess kit, five days of rations, a waterskin, and a copy of the Official Blood Bowl Rulebook (useful as toilet paper).
  18. Playing around with BattleScribe and thinking about how to make an Imperial Fists army that doesn't play exactly like the typical Imperial Fists force. This is still a very shooty force, but one that is a lot more aggressive. ++ Patrol Detachment ++ Chapter Selection: Imperial Fists HQ Captain Warlord; Jump Pack, Storm Shield, Thunder Hammer; Warlord Trait: Iron Resolve, Relic: The Shield Eternal [ 124 pts ] Troops Intercessor Squad 10x Marines; Bolt Rifles, 2x Auxiliary Grenade Launcher; Sergeant w/ Power Fist [ 179 pts ] Intercessor Squad 5x Marines; Auto Bolt Rifles, 1x Auxiliary Grenade Launcher; Sergeant w/ Power Fist [ 99 pts ] Intercessor Squad 5x Marines; Stalker Bolt Rifles, 1x Auxiliary Grenade Launcher; Sergeant w/ Chainsword [ 85 pts ] Elites Redemptor Dreadnought Storm Bolters, Heavy Flamer,* Heavy Onslaught Gatling Cannon [ 153 pts ] Reiver Squad 5x Marines; Bolt Carbines, Grapnel Launchers, Grav Chutes; Sergeant w/ Bolt Carbine and Combat Knife [ 110 pts] ++ Total: [ 750 Points ] ++ * Model has an Onslaught Gatling Cannon, not a Heavy Flamer. I have sinned against the great god Wysiwyg!
  19. One of the easiest ways, in my experience, to make a "unique" army list in WH40k or any other wargame is to look for those unit(s) that the collective wisdom of the Internet tells you is a MANDATORY CHOICE!!!!111one! and then make your list without it. Y'know somwething that will make the chuckleheads on Reddit or /tg/ say something like "Lol! This guy made a Blood Angels list without a Smash Captain! LOL! Fail!" Alternatively, look for the unit(s) that the same collection of learned sages will tell you is TOTAL TRASH!!! and then use it. "Stupid noon uses Whirlwinds! WTF dude!?" Realistically speaking, there isn't usually that great of a difference between the best unit(s) in any given army and the worst unit(s) in the army. Oh, sure, you can't expect the same efficiency from an anti-infantry unit as an anti-tank unit when it comes to shooting at tanks. But given the choice between the MANDATORY CHOICE! anti-tank unit and the TOTAL TRASH! anti-tank unit in the same army list? You'll usually find the difference to be negligible. Consider the Broadside and Hammerhead: Against a T 8 / Sv 3+ / 12 W model a Broadside with twin Rail Rifles will score 2.17 Wounds, the Hammerhead's Railgun will score 2.00 Wounds. The sagacious denizens of Reddit or /tg/ will conclude that the Hammerhead is FAIL!!!... Which is just silly. Pick the models you like to build the army you want first. Figure out how to make it work second.

    Tau...

I cannot figure out why GW removed the old system, where Flyers who left the table could come back on in a latter turn....
  21. We don’t know much about the Tau’s socio-political system beyond what we see in the codices (which is always presented as “in universe” information from unreliable narrators from the Imperium of Man) but based on what we do have, I’d say the Tau are more akin to a hybrid suzerainty/hegemony than a traditional empire. The various Tau-majority worlds seem to be client-states to the T’au homeworld’s suzerain. The Tau, as a whole, seem to have hegemonic power over the various client races, Kroot, Demiurge, Vespid, Gue’la Humans, etc. There also seems to be a bit of a theocratic element to it all too, given the way the four Tau Castes all pay obeisance to the Ætheral caste.
  22. I think the simple solution is to just have five Grots modeled onto a scenic base that’s approximately 1” wider than the gun.
  23. Here’s the relevant bit. I don’t want to post the whole unit entry. The only thing I can see the Grots affecting is where you can physically place the model, since the Grots all have to be within 1” of it... But that seems like a very niche circumstance.
