  1. They're still offering the pewter Steel Legion Infantry Squad as a direct order only, $35 USD for the squad. I'd be surprised if the Vostroyans were much more expensive than that.
  2. The second list looks more like an addition to an army than a force in its own right. With only ten models, most of them vehicles, it's going to have a hell of a time with any missions that require you to take and hold a static position... On the other hand, it does look like a very fun list to play against!
  3. The cover art of Vigilus Defiant is really well done, but it amuses me to note that its a battle scene depicting Ultramarines, Brazen Claws, Skitarri, and Cadians all fighting against Bad Moon Orks. I guess "Imperial Soup" isn't off the menu just yet!

    Bombs?

You can drop a bomb. That's one. You select one select an enemy unit to target. That's one.

    Bombs?

"[D]rop a bomb. ... (S)elect an enemy unit that [the model] moved over." Singular in both instances. So I'd day no to being able to drop more than one bomb in a given turn.

    Noise marine

Looks like you can! The guitar isn't molded to any of the hands... So you could also have it slung over his back like an epic rock-star who just finished a set. The body's pose is also just begging to be turned into a guy surfing into battle while standing atop a Rhino.
  7. Sigh. Let me walk you through it one more time... It really isn't that hard to understand.... Maybe you should take notes... Unless there is a reason you don't want to understand!?
  8. Another neat find from the same book, Jes Goodwin’s sketch for the Mk. VIII Power Armor alongside a random doodle of his dated 1990... Tell me that’s not the central tower from the Fortress of Redemption!
  9. From the Index Astartes: Apocrypha book published by GW in 2016, compiling old White Dwarf articles of interest from years gone by... They include Jes Goodwin’s original design sketches for the second edition redesign of the Space Marine Dreadnought... But look at the unused one on the far right. Now, look at the Primaris Redemptor Dreadnought.
  10. That’s why I think Alessio Cavatore was the “Ingredient X” that, when combined with Priestly and/or Johnson, delivered some of the best war games ever made.
  11. Well, even if that’s true now, it’s undeniable that Star Wars was an absolutely unprecedented merchandising juggernaut in its heyday. The entire toy industry changed because of what Kenner was able to do with those toys.

I think you’re think of Malice.
  13. As much love as I have for Jervis Johnson, Rick Priestly, and Andy Chambers, none of those guys ever seemed to catch on to the idea that there were people playing their games as organized competitions. They pretty much wrote and designed games with a “standing around in your shed, having a pint with your buddies” mindset firmly in place. Which is fine by me, since that’s my preference for gaming too. But I suspect it’s why so many people getting into the hobby these days (especially if they have a MtG or e-sports history) find it completely alien to consider Open Play or Natrative Play. Even just reading old rulebooks, which were much more open and permissive, can seem strange.
  14. Well, before this gets more “RoC-esque,” I will point out that Lucas would hardly be the first (and certainly not the last) person with socialist sympathies that enriched themselves via the market (and a wee bit of cronyism). The sobriquet of “champagne socialist” was coined for a reason.
  15. Hmm... I did just buy several hundred dollars worth of Imperial Fists for my new army. After playing Imperial Guard for nearly twenty-five years, I thought it was time to put aside the Guard for a while. But thirty-two of them can’t be that expensive, right? I can stop there. I can stop anytime I want to...
  16. They seem to be most actively involved on their official Warhammer 40,000 Facebook profile... But that could just be because the fans are more active with it than they are on the other profiles. It’s not like you’re going to be able to PM Matt Ward or Jervis Johnson and ask them rules questions or anything. But, hey, if you’re on Facebook anyway, why not throw them a Subscribe click?
  17. Generally speaking, I find they reply to questions or concerns posted to them on Facebook. Nothing to the level of an official Erratum or anything, but at least some kind of clarification... They also seem to use Facebook questions as sources for future FAQs. (And sometimes Duncan will even show a Facebook commenter how to properly apply two thin coats to a mini to accomplish a given effect or scheme.)
  18. A Kroot Kill Team Team!? Huh, maybe they are going to make the magazine useful again...
  19. Yes, I’m also aware that GW’s marketing people aren’t reading Ordo Fanaticus. Don’t step on my rant, man.
  20. Oh? You mean your going to return White Dwarf to its roots as a magazine dedicated to the complete warhaming hobby and related hobbies like roleplaying games? Saga, Dungeons & Dragons, Star Wars, Bolt Action!? It won’t just be an entirely in-house advertising gimmick for Games Workshop’s products!? Ah, I see... You didn’t actually listen to my feedback and won’t be giving me more (or any) of what I asked for. There’s a reason I unsubscribed in the Mid-Nineties and haven’t bought an issue off the racks since 2003... Lack of glossy cover art was not it.
  21. Even if they don’t drop within range or LOS of the Stormsurge, the EWO will still impact the game by denying them a portion of the board. Dictating where your enemy can go can be just as important as killing them.
  22. Everyone in a Brigade has to have the same Kulture. 13 CP isn’t that much less than 15 CP, after all is said and done, but having two different Kultures is really handy.
  23. He does have 13 CP(!) that can go a long way to boosting morale checks with just simple re-rolls... and the Orks do have some morale shenanigans in their codex. I don’t know what they all are, but they are there.
  24. Brutal, but cunning... It’s hard to go wrong with throwing MOAR BOYZ at the enemy. I think it’ll be hard for anyone to match you in terms of CP. You’ll certain have no problem in the Objective-grabbing department; and your Anti-Infantry should be strong just due to the buckets of dice you’ll have for shooting... Anti-Tank seems to be the only weakness, but I could be underestimating your Tabkbusta Bombs and Power Klaws. Plus, at 750, it’s unlikely you’ll run into anything terribly heavy.
