  1. want to like the Primario Kart, but just like with the Repulsor, every time I look at it I just see another little detail that irks me...

I’m sure that the third-party bitz market will figure out some means of converting it into something less hideous eventually. (Heck, Pop Goes the Monkey managed to fix the Dreadknight.)

    I want it!!!

The thing that bugs me about the Primaris Tarantula, or whatever they’re going to call that weapons platform, is that it doesn’t appear capable of elevating or depressing the guns...

  3. I think they might have decided to push the Primaris Marines into new squad types in order to make them even easier to play. People have quite rightly compared them to Eldar Aspect Warriors in how specialized they are: these are your anti-infantry dudes, these are your anti-vehicle dudes, these are your long-range dudes... and since everyone in the squad has to have an identical load-out, it’s hard to “screw up” with them.

  4. I’ve said since the Primaris Marines debuted that I felt GW mishandled their release. In my opinion, they should have simply introduced the new sculpts and said out with the old sculpts... But kept the classic squad structure. Basically, instead of Intercessor Squads, just made Tactical Squads out of Primaris models. (Along with rules changes like better boltguns and two Wounds.)

Then put out a magazine article, a blog post, and a YouTube video that basically said “Look, we haven’t had a fundamental redesign of the Space Marines since we phased out the Beakies in 1992. They had a good run, but it’s been thirty years. The new models are bigger, better looking, and we hope you like them.”

But that’s not what they did.

  5. Oh, I’m under no illusions that they’ll continue to manufacture the older models once the molds wear out and they become too costly to continue production of them... But that’s just a standard part of the miniature business.

There’s a difference between “removed from the shelf” and “removed from the game.”

I feel like GW had an extremely easy opportunity to make a "Highway to the Danger Zone" reference, and they didn't take it.

They literally subtitled a huge section of the article “The Danger Zone,” made another reference to the song in the article’s text, and they quoted Maverick in the caption for one picture.

I mean... Did you need to see Roboute Guilliman playing guitar for a Kenny Logins cover?

Regarding aircraft, seems like the typical basing is obsolete.  Maybe a tripod cradle out of clear acrylic is the way to go.  Or a GorillaPod?

    • Install a 6’ x 4’ sheet of ferrous metal on the ceiling above your gaming table.

    • Attach an eye bolt to the dorsal surface of all Aircraft models, attach a length of fishing line to that eye bolt.

    • Attach the other end of the fishing line to a strong rare earth magnet.

    • Attach magnet to metal sheet.

    • Request permission to buzz the tower.

  8. I seem to be in the distinct minority of players who holds to WH40k Third Edition without the revised "3.5" close combat rules as my personal favorite edition.

I really like the current Eighth Edition's core rule set, but feel it broke down under the weight of too many supplements and too many subsystems (detachments, stratagems, command points, codices, codex supplements, campaign books, yadda yadda yadda). WH40k Third Edition had a nice clean and streamlined core rule set, only had one codex per faction, and only had two supplemental add-ons... which were dirt cheap and only contained about one page of altered rules for each of the four or five factions in them.

  9. It was 1-0 in my favor and we were at kickoff for the start of the second half. I had one Peasant sent off for fouling, but she had three Linewomen (I think they were all Linewomen) injured and out of the game.

Odds are good I’d have won in the end, but I’m willing to replay the game if that works better for everyone.

Is there anyway to replay just the second half?

  10. I’m very sorry to hear that the HPE ProLiant DL560 Gen10 entry server with Intel® Xeon® Gold 6130 processors that was responsible for providing your neighborhood’s internet service was mysteriously sabotaged by an unknown person using a Craftsman® CMCS300B Reciprocating Saw.

But, hey, a win is a win...

  11. I was definitely thinking of separating out enough “standing firm” legs to make the whole squad of Sagittarium Custodes look like they’re standing together. It’s a minor bit of aesthetics, but it’s important to me.
