@Brother_Sobek We're all playing crusade at 1000pt Tempest Of War games recently. If you'd like to try it and build a 1000pt list we can probably get you two games in one night. Might not be many folks looking for a 2k matched play game right now.

Just a friendly reminder that as the games will be 750pts now we're also increasing the order of battle roster by 250pt so there's 1250pts available to draw from as well now. You can of course still spend 1 requisition to increase it by a further 100pts.

@Brother Glacius See my previous answer. You’re making this harder on yourself looking for problems. You’re going to make mistakes in learning this game. Remember the goal is not to be 100% correct - the goal, especially for whomever opponent showed up to play you, is to have fun.

So relics and warlord traits are two different things, generally you're limited to one of each per character model. There are a few exceptions that give warlord traits to squad leaders or dreadnoughts, or named characters which receive multiple warlord traits, but those are very specific and worded to be exceptions. There's no method to allow a single model to take two relics. There aren't any relics that provide warlord traits or vice versa. In crusade you use requisition points, instead of cp or stratagems, to provide warlord traits and/or relics but they still must adhere to all the rules given in the core book or your codex. ie the summary above. Especially in a casual game setting like our escalation crusade, don't read too deep into the legalese or try to infer a bunch of "What If . . . " interpretations. Those hours are better wasted by the internet spawn. 😉

I'll be there early for the crusade as well. Happy to start showing someone how to play Tempest of War right away so there's time for two games. Crusade "homework" doesn't really matter your first two missions so we can do that afterward.

I have arranged for a chauffeur and therein may be convinced to provide access for the plebeians this evening. I'll be evaluating new protocols vs the target dummies formerly known as @Salty Monkey's Marines.

Every 40k Ed Complaint Summed: "I don't actually play this edition but I wish it was like that time I didn't have to think and my deathball won every game for me no matter how little I paid attention. Except for that one rule that made for a reasonable counter. That was waaay too simple, it should have been much more complicated to beat my fanboy list. But now people have to actually develop a strategy and interact with something other than their domestic beer/weed pipe. Change is hard! The game has always been a complicated fantasy historical tactics game of chance, Settlers of Catan exists for a reason too . . .
