They aren't going to survive a turn of dedicated shooting from almost anything, but they force your opponent to get rid of them before dealing with anything else. If you think a tournament is going to allow the AV15 building, well, you're wrong. Most of the big events are polling their player base. The overwhelming majority are against SA and Esc.
