Not sure what you're getting at... Most of the DE kits are pretty old by now.

And yet haven't aged a day. That model range marked a turning point in my mind, when GW brought their level of detail and dynamism in their sculpts to where they are now.

Unfortunately, it also coincided with their push for finecast, so a lot of that already spikey and spindly range is also horrifically brittle and with all the other charms of old finecast.

I don't perceive time very well. Those are the new DE bikes, the new plastic DE scourges, the new plastic de wytches, the new plastic talos pain engine, and finecast remakes of the newer metal mandrakes.

I just haven't had a DE army since the older metal versions of each of these kits.

Yeah, that was in 2011, if I remember correctly. 7 years isn't old but it also isn't new.

edit: Confirmed. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_Eldar#Release_&_Development

Even the newest release for them was 2014.

Codex Drukhari Preview: Stratagems

40kDrukhariPreview-Mar26-Header2yer.jpg

We’ve covered just some of the Stratagems in the new Drukhari codex, but there are a few more we thought deserved some special attention.

40kDrukhariPreview-Mar30-Image1lr.jpg

We finally managed to winnow down our favourites to five:

40kDrukhariPreview-Mar30-Subheaders5j-1.

40kDrukhariPreview-Mar30-Crucible7g-1.jp

Opponents insisting on using Smite? Teach them a lesson with this deadly Stratagem. The more Psykers they take, the deadlier it’ll be!

40kDrukhariPreview-Mar30-Subheaders4s-1.

40kDrukhariPreview-Mar30-SoulTrap8r-1.jp

Archons are already some of the most brutal combatants in the 41st Millennium, and this Stratagem allows them to grow deadlier still. Even if you only use this Stratagem once, a one-point increase to Strength, Attacks and Leadership are nothing to sniff at for a single Command Point!

40kDrukhariPreview-Mar30-Subheaders3k-1.

40kDrukhariPreview-Mar30-LightningReacti

If the Drukhari have a disadvantage, it’s their relatively low durability. This Stratagem allows you to protect a key unit from being shot off the table (or cut to pieces), and while the Command Point cost may seem steep, you’ll be able to pack loads into your Drukhari list with ease.

40kDrukhariPreview-Mar30-Subheaders2b-1.

40kDrukhariPreview-Mar30-AgentsofVect10t

While only Kabal of the Black Heart Drukhari will be able to use this Stratagem, we’d recommend taking a Patrol Detachment just to use it. Proper use of Stratagems is key to the current edition of Warhammer 40,000, and with this, you’ll be able to disrupt enemy combos or just deny them a crucial re-roll.

40kDrukhariPreview-Mar30-Subheaders1w-1.

40kDrukhariPreview-Mar30-Onslaught11f-1.

As free agents of Commorragh, Incubi are free to fight with who they choose, and while they don’t benefit from Drukhari Obsessions, you’ll also be able to take them in your lists without having to worry about losing yours. We’d recommend combining this Stratagem with Drazhar in particular – after all, he can now fight twice in the turn he charges.

40kDrukhariPreview-Mar30-MurderousAssaul

You haven’t got long to wait now before you can unleash these Stratagems on your foes – make sure to pre-order your copy of Codex: Drukhari tomorrow, and let us know what you’re most excited about on the Warhammer 40,000 Facebook page.

Did crucible work that effectively before? Because that's pretty nice.

Yeah I'd have to double check, but I'm pretty sure it was the same effect. It was just a free piece of equipment you could take and use in your own psychic phase (which I forgot to do every single time I had an opportunity to use it).

It was wargear, and only one per army, so the opponent would know who had it ahead of time and position their psykers accordingly. This version is much more flexible. Though "only" d3 mortal wounds per psyker unit and only once per battle, so I'm hoping DE get something a bit more viable for psychic defense.

I will note that this version is worded to be friend or foe, so allied Eldar Psykers are just as hindered as enemy psykers.
