I didn't win this year, only got 43,000 words written, but my novel -- Blackblade: Vengeance of the Necromancer -- is half-finished and it's really good so I'm okay with not winning (it's not like there was a prize). I think it'll be done by January. But this post is all about the cover of my novel. First, this is the mock-up of a cover I did, and its clearly absolute crap: And this is the sketch I just got back from Alex García, who did the concept artwork for the DeepWars miniatures game: What a difference actually being an artist makes, huh? That's just amazeballs. And the color test: Isn't that [big bad swear word]ing AWESOME? I'm giddy like a schoolgirl. I've been working towards this for a long time, and the only way to describe my mood right now is with this gif: Anyways, now that nanowrimo is over and I'm not pushing for 50k in 30 days, I'll actually be down at the shop.
