Steel Angel
I want to run a old school Von Carstein list. Can you take units for a different army?
pretre
There's no rules on which units you can and cannot take right now.
Lion of Flanders
You can take 3 steam tanks and a unit of Chaos Knights to support your vampires.

indytims
The only thing to worry about is that -some- abilities only affect certain models in your list with certain keywords. Other than that, feel free to mix it up in whatever way you want. :)
Threejacks
Generally speaking you can take all allies within your faction, those being Chaos,Order,Death and Destruction. At this point nothing stops you from mixing and matching the factions but if you want to stay with the basic fluff the above is your guidline:)
Steel Angel
lol if I stay basic fluff I can't take a Empire army. lol
Steel Angel
Ok so page 234 of the rule book saids you can use any model in your army as long as you have the scroll. But now correct me if i'm wrong you should stay with in your faction. Which makes sense after all there is no Empire or Britonnia any more. If your playing modern times, but there might be a few units around still fighting here and there. Is that pretty much the gist of it?

Nathanvoodoo
Basically, you can run any model you want. That is the rule. The general sentiment is that you stick within the four factions- those being destruction, chaos, death, and order. But - it's basically totally unbound according to the rules. rudra34
It's essentially a make-your-own-fluff right now. Anything can be done.
wisetiger7
Throw some blood and corpses on the steam tank to fit the theme of vampires/undead. Make it look like a reaver ship from Firefly. Whoa. I just blew my mindhole.

KlawKnee
Probably why this exists.. >Yonge and Lawrence Comp http://www.belloflostsouls.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/Age-of-Sigmar-Errata-and-Scenarios.pdf "All models with 10 or more wounds must be from the same Compendium as the General."
