generalripphook
For the sake of a possibly cool Lenin Russ conversion could I move the hull mounted heavy bolter/lascannon to be mounted next to the main battle cannon? It's tough because from a modeling for advantage point of view it seems to be only an advantage because now the weapon would be turret mounted. I guess rule of cool? WestRider
I'd probably be cool with it except on a Vanquisher. The expanded field of fire for a Lascannon mounted co-axially with the Vanquisher Cannon would be kind of a big deal, but for most of the others, I don't think it would be too bad. You could also just keep a spot marked where the Hull weapon would normally be, and draw LoS from there, or keep the co-ax Weapon limited to a frontal arc for play purposes regardless of where you actually have the Turret pointed. PourSpelur
If you're cool about it, I'm cool. Before the game a quick "Hey, I mounted the Heavy Bolter on the turret because it looks bad-ass up there but I measure firing arc from the hull" will make all the difference.
generalripphook
Cool that's what I expected, I might be able to still make it hull mounted but I'll see. I'll throw a picture up when I get working on it. I think it's gonna look a lot like a Spartan...which means I should get one of those too. AbusePuppy
Honestly, it's not that big of a deal. Yes, technically it does give you an advantage, but especially if other parts of your conversion were disadvantageous (or if you army was otherwise non-optimized) it wouldn't really bother me at all. scottshoemaker
"Stock models are for chumps" As long as you point it out and have measure points as suggested it's cool. If you are really worried about it you could bury a magnet is front and pop on a proxy weapon in the "proper" location if someone requires it. fluger
You could also just keep a spot marked where the Hull weapon would normally be, and draw LoS from there This, to me, seems the simplest solution as you can have your cake and eat it too.
